Country and Soul as well as R&B have their roots in American Gospel music. Chris sees no lines and crosses no lines because he embraces the love of music from the heart. Thank You Sir for sharing this love. Hoka Hey
This song … means A LOT to my family. This song came out when my Niece and Sister in Law passed away in a house fire several years back. My brother, their dad and husband was a BROKEN MAN after that. I grew up wanting to be like my brother, he taught me how to ride a bike, skateboard etc… I ended up going through a divorce after 15 years right after their deaths. I moved to my brother’s town and we were both holding on by a thread. We used to cruise around in my car on back roads with this song cranked up and just SANG at the top of our lungs … song on repeat! We grew up with our dad singing in local honkeytonks, bars and beerjoints to make extra cash on the side. Both my dad and brother had that soul and rasp in their voices. I think maybe another reason why we connected to this song. I will forever have these memories buried deep in my soul and This song got us through some tough times!
The Songwriter is Chris Stapleton and Michael Harrison. Chris is a phenomenal Songwriter As of 2018, Stapleton has amassed credits writing and co-writing over 170 songs.[7] He has co-written six number-one country songs[8] including Kenny Chesney's five-week number-one "Never Wanted Nothing More", Josh Turner's "Your Man", George Strait's "Love's Gonna Make It Alright", and Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer".[9] His songs have appeared on many artists albums including Adele, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley.[10] He has co-written with several artists as well including Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran.[11] Stapleton has been recognized with several awards including five Grammy Awards, seven Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, and ten Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Those are just some of his writing credits....
Yeah, Chris Stapleton has been a songwriter for years, decades.. there's no telling how many country artists have sang the songs and made #1's out of them. I'm just so glad he decided to come out of the shadows and get what he deserves, recognition, and blessing us with his God given talent.
Just wanted to let you know that Chris Stapleton was a songwriter in Nashville for a while and that’s where he met his unbelievably talented wife Morgane. Many country artists have made hits from his songs. Then he went out, finally, and blessed us with his gift.
He & his wife wrote Halos. He writes all his songs; very rare with another artist. He usually writes the other singers hits as well. He can sing every genres. I won't be suprised when he does a feature with a rapper.
Yes they did. He writes all of his songs...was a song writer for other famous artist before his wife talked him into singing his own material. This guy is a genius!
Chris Stapleton, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran did a song together called Blow. It is a little mind blowing. They all sing on it and it is damn near a perfect rock and roll song!!!
Chris started as mainly a songwriter. He has written for many A-liat artists over the last 15-20 years. He also wrote this song, and most of the songs he records, other than some covers (like Tennessee Whiskey)
He writes most of his songs. He was a very respected writer for many years in Nashville, writing for people like Luke Bryan and George Straight, and surprisingly also made a song for Adele.
He was in a Bluegrass band called Steel Drivers. This was the first song of his I heard. Fell in love with his voice. Then I fell in love w Morgan's voice and them together on Tennessee Whiskey.
My favourite song of Stapleton's is "Sticks that made thunder" from his days with the Steeldrivers. It's a song about a battle during the civil war, through the eyes of a tree that was situated in the middle of the battlefield. Amazing writing!!
Chris was a songwriter for many artists. He met his wife Moganne in their managers office and when they got together she incouraged him to start singing his songs. And the Chri explosion started. She accompanies him on many of them aside has a beautiful voice as well.
He's written for everyone from Adele to George Strait, including co-writing 6 #1 Country Songs (that he doesn't sing:):)). He and Morgane have been at it awhile now. I don't know where they find the time after having 5 kids.
You would enjoy his Tiny Desk concert at NPR which is 3 songs, very intimate. His wife, Morgane , is with him. Also, Fool Me Again is a good one, done on a songwriter cruise when he was younger. Amazing power while just chillin' on a deck chair. I don't know if you saw that he also spent time in a bluegrass band. He has great influences to go with all that natural power and grit.
A hallmark of an instant classic is that it feels really familiar, that might’ve been why it sounded like someone else’s song. he’s bringing so much hope to Nashville being brought to the spotlight again. Great review!
He has mastered his abilities! He is an incredible talent. Elvis had full voice range, and I think Chris does to. If not full range he is close. But when he performs with other artists, you need to understand, he is one of a kind. Other artists should not be judged by his standard. Judge them in their own right! Love your channel!
You thanked the Songwriter who is also the singer, he is that rare singer songwriter. The man first went to nashville as a songwriter and has NUMEROUS number one hits under his belt that were written for other artist such as Drink A Beer and many others, i would highly recommend researching his writing credits and his time with the blue grass band THE STEELDRIVERS which he sang the original version of MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO MEMPHIS
"Barely alive" live acoustic version. before he be a household name. He has been in bands and writing songs for many years before his coming out party in 2015. He is the king of country. Blues, rock, bluegrass. He is legendary. Yet so humble. Love you're reactions. God bless
I'm a little late to the show but I just wanted to say that your reactions are so great to watch and you're so objective and will replay over and over to make sure you get the message the way it was meant its very refreshing thank you
I, like yourself, am a music fan. Not a country fan. Your reactions to Morrisette and Rage against the machine got me to your channel. I recommend anything "live" . Was able to go to his concert pre-covid and he is one of only 2 artists I've heard that sound better in person than engineered. Nothing compares to you, and Do right woman are both incredibly done. And, were both done as tributes literally hours after each icon( Prince and Aretha) had passed. Dude is so humble and sincere and he just emotes that connection whenever he sings live. My personal favorite is Death Row.
This is a song about people dying too soon. The studio version with his wife singing harmony is amazing. Check out his song “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore”. He wrote it in about 15 minutes while his wife was getting ready for a night our.
So many people these days think they can sing and call themselves "Artist" Chris can sing, play, write and I believe have no problem helping split a load of fire wood or throw hay. Just saying this is as genuine as a real "ARTIST" can get. Check out his song "Run Maggie Run" it is about the family dog they found in a store parking lot. Chris Stapleton makes the world a better place one lyric at a time. Take Care and God Bless
I have no musical talent and don't know much about particular instruments. What I have heard or seen others comment about is that guitars are like fine wine, they get better w age. As the wood wears or ages the sound apparently gets better. I don't think that's just some guitar, I think it's a very expensive old guitar. Someone smarter or more knowledgeable than me probably could tell you what that is. Reguarding the song writers, Chris I believe wrote this song. As with most of his own music. He actually was a song writer long before he became famous on his solo career. I think I have seen that he has written over 170 chart topping Ng songs for other artist, some that are very big over the past 15 yrs.
His voice to me is a combination of smooth velvet and rough weathered leather. I've been a huge fan of his since 2015 and his are the only hard copy albums I still buy.
Chris is a Unbelievable artist ... His lyrics are always simple but Deep... Check out his Bluegrass side ... If it hadn't been for love with the Steeldrivers .. The lyrics are amazing ... Also Fool Me Again is great also
Really appreciate your reactions. Chris was also in two groups prior to his solo career - SteelDrivers is a bluegrass-type group and Jompson Brothers was a Southern Rock style group - all their songs with Chris are great in their own right - I think you'd be happy with any of them!! I will await your reactions :)
Hey really enjoying your videos!! Found you in the last week or two. Check out “where rainbows never die” he sang it while apart of “the steel drivers” it’s a bluegrass band. Make sure its the version with him singing though. As they have a new singer.
He started as a song writer.... For big huge names... Then he decided to finally sing.... He has wrote a song for hootie and the blowfish and many many more. So glad he finally stepped out of his shell and sing...
always great reactions from you...Cold and Death Row are two i think you would really enjoy and if you go way back with chris check out Fool Me Again from 2007 when he was a song writer cruise, its insane his vocals
Amazing performance especially given that artists on the Stern show usually sing in the 8am hour. You can go down the Stern show catalog of artists and be amazed by almost everyone of them.
He writes almost all of his songs. "You should probably leave" is a good one off of his newest album. A few other good songs are the ones that he wrote for other people like "Comeback Song" that Darius Rucker plays and "Your Man" that Josh Turner plays.
Oh my God, this jerks ...snatches and stomps on my heart. God, please let my ANGELS come back and help me. Please, I am trying God, I want to honor their wishes now and forever. I know this is not appropriate here..I cannot let one day go without remembering my two angels.
There will never be another Chris Stapleton- and there will never be another Elvis 🇺🇸👵🏻

Some people just ARE music. Chris is is one who just is music.
Have you heard “What are you listening to?”. So beautiful and I’m not crazy about CW, but his soul blows me away.
Travelers album. It does not disappoint. Fire Away.
I always say Chris Stapleton is his own genre....generational talent!
The Songwriter is Chris Stapleton and Michael Harrison. Chris is a phenomenal Songwriter

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy MrLboyd’s reviews. Lots of others doing it but none top his approach!
I was Wrong! Austin City Limits Performance! Absolutely stunning performance! 🔥❤️
Chris Stapleton is an artist. A true Michelangelo of the music world. PEACE!!!!!
Chris is a straight up soul singer. He brings soul to other genres. He makes a country song a country/soul song.
Just wanted to let you know that Chris Stapleton was a songwriter in Nashville for a while and that’s where he met his unbelievably talented wife Morgane. Many country artists have made hits from his songs. Then he went out, finally, and blessed us with his gift.
dude has been a legendary songwriter (for other artists) for more than a decade before deciding to start recording himself .... many #1 singles
Broken Halos.” Chris and his frequent collaborator Mike Henderson wrote the song about six years ago,
He & his wife wrote Halos. He writes all his songs; very rare with another artist. He usually writes the other singers hits as well. He can sing every genres. I won't be suprised when he does a feature with a rapper.
He is great

I enjoyed watching you react.
Chris Stapleton absolutely grabs my heart with his honest real lyrics and soulful textured voice.
😊😊😊
Fire away!!! Pure emotion! Give it a listen.
Chris Stapleton, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran did a song together called Blow. It is a little mind blowing. They all sing on it and it is damn near a perfect rock and roll song!!!
Meh, generic and commercial. But in that vein it's solid. Just totally shallow, no meaning. So it's hard to compare to something like this.
very much enjoy your reactions
Chris Stapleton your man acoustic on the Bobby Bones Show
You should listen to him in the bluegrass group steeldrivers. He has been awesome for sooo many years.
Your facial expressions watching this put a big smile on my face. God Bless and thank you 😊🙏
My, my, among the greatest ever, Chris Stapleton.
Texture of his voice is so accurate
Chris started as mainly a songwriter. He has written for many A-liat artists over the last 15-20 years. He also wrote this song, and most of the songs he records, other than some covers (like Tennessee Whiskey)

Amazing singer and songwriter. Just God given talent.
Chris was a songwriter for many artists. He met his wife Moganne in their managers office and when they got together she incouraged him to start singing his songs. And the Chri explosion started. She accompanies him on many of them aside has a beautiful voice as well.
He got his start selling songs he wrote.

This guy.....this amazing talent. Then there is everyone else.
Good review of greatness.
“FIRE AWAY” must watch music video with song!!!! Huge emotional ride.. must be your next review of Chris

The Steeldrivers and The Jompson Brothers are both great bands with just some incredible songs. Wish we had more from The Jompson Brothers though.
The heart that feels every bump in the road.
Chris Stapleton - Parachute
His voice touches your soul.
A hallmark of an instant classic is that it feels really familiar, that might’ve been why it sounded like someone else’s song. he’s bringing so much hope to Nashville being brought to the spotlight again.
Great review!
Chris Stapleton is awesome!
“I Was Wrong” by Chris Stapleton (Live Austin City Limits performance). You won’t regret it!
Love your content, bro. So professional and genuine.
It would be hard to ever put that voice in any one box . Love all his music Great reaction

This song was written by Chris and Mike Henderson
For years Chris wrote songs for other talents to sing. A behind the scenes kind of guy. I'm so glad he stepped out in front.
This song always makes me shed a tear
You should check out him in The Steeldrivers and Jompson Brothers.
Both of those bands are excellent representations of his vast capabilities. He's awesome!
Jompson Brothers on the run is a great song.
What he said⬆️😁
Thanks for the info! I bought the Steeldrivers but did not know about Jompson Brothers.
I suggested this one too. Its awesome!! Oh yeah his voice is just so gritty and raspy love it! This man got serious soul.
Exceptional singer!

It might not be your main vein of music but if you appreciate musical talent you have to give that man a big booya
He also sang Bluegrass with a band called the Steel Drivers for several years before hitting the country music scene..
Look into him he writes most of not all his songs and has something like 170 songs to his credit that he has written for other ppl
Check out when he was with Steeldrivers and Rainbows Never Die.
AWESOME... thanks for reacting to the song I suggested... my halo was broken 13 years ago.
He composed this song with Michael Henderson I believe . He is a profilic songwriter and written for many many performers.
