So very glad I found this. Bought a machine at Goodwill and almost took it back. Tried this method and within 35 seconds I've got a second Nespresso machine that will go in my classroom. Thanks so very much!

I had put my Nespresso away for more than a year and know I decided to use it again and for my surprise it was not pumping water. I checked the internet for a solution and yours was the best.
    Thank you for your video.

Hey Sammi, I just went through the process as you described and it worked perfectly. Thanks a bunch. I had not used my Nespresso for quite some time - had run out of capsules and then didn't get around to buying new ones. I was just drinking coffee instead. Now I got a big box of capsules for Christmas. But then the machine didn't produce the espresso, it was just whirring. I was disappointed and thought I had to get a new machine possibly. I pumped about three syringes of water into it until water was pushed out the front end. Then I put the little plastic plate back, snapped the water tank on, and now I'm sitting here typing this review while sipping a hot espresso. Much appreciated!

Thank you! I tried many other techniques shown in other videos, but this one worked like a charm. My one mistake was not immediately replacing the strainer, as shown in your video, so the tan wouldn't release water, but once I figured out that mistake, I followed your instructions exactly and it worked first time. Thanks.

DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR NESPRESSO!!!
We bought a used Nespresso U. Thanks to this post. We now have a working Nespresso. We risked a whole $8 on a used machine which powered up and the pump ran but no water would dispense. Some poor schmuck gave up on it and donated to our local thrift store because it would not suck any water from the reservoir. The common problem, as you will see with the majority of comments, is that the these machines won't prime when it sits unused for long periods. As per the video you need to pull out the strainer located at the base where the water reservoir sits with needle nose pliers. Use a medicine syringe (ours was a 5mL which our local Pharmacy gave to us for free) to force water (to prime) into the hole/tube located in the base where the reservoir sits. We forced three syringes into the machine. Replace your water reservoir, run your machine as per usual and it should start spitting out water, as ours did. Love Google and You Tube! Thanks Sammi Eddy. I love it when someone shares something that works!

I tried the straws, the zip bag in the container, putting in and out the container, reset the machine, spent a long time in forums ,(even the one of Nesspreso) and none of that worked.
This was the only solution for my Nesspreso machine clogged pipes. Very clever solution.
All these issues happened after trying to decal my machine.

Let me tell you this was THEE way to make this thing work again! I tried a lot of other videos on this site and this method worked quickly and easily. The one thing I did different was to use a stainless steel straw rather than the baby syringe. You can get them on Amazon and they fit perfectly over the water intake valve. I blew through the straw first with air. Then I sucked up water and blew the water in once and voila! Ran perfect after an hour of trying other methods that got zero results. Thanks!

Thank you for this. I tried for 3 hours all the other methods--- ziplock bag, blowing, up and down of water tank, but none of them worked. Instead of a syringe, I used a squeeze dust blower (the type you use for cameras). It took several tries, but it worked in the end. I picked out the little plastic piece with my fingers, and filled that space with water. Then I used the dust blower to suck the water up and try and squeeze it into the tiny hole. That way when the water came out it would just fill that space up and not overflow and make a mess. Makes it easier and quicker to just keep pumping it.

If you don't have a baby syringe handy - this worked for me. I had a can a spray duster (blows air bursts to remove dust from electronics). Use a letter opener to move the seal from flush at the bottom to perpendicular (did not want to come out and I did not want to force it). Put a little water into the opening where the water is supplied. Inserted the red tube from the duster into the opening, and pushed air in. Seems counterintuitive, but the pushing the air stream in creates a mini-vacuum the pulls the water in with it. Well that is my theory, and in any case, the Vertuo started pumping water immediately.

    This worked great.
I was able to pick the little "plug" out with just my fingers (kinda push it to one side and then get a fingernail under it and pull up). I was then able to run it while I squirted water at the hole with a turkey baster. Suggestion for anyone who doesn't have a syringe small enough to go into the water hole.
It was enough to get water into it while the pump ran and get it primed.
Thanks for the suggestion, since the ziploc bag idea didn't work!

WOW. I mean wow. I tried EVERY other method possible and was getting so frustrated. The first 5 times I tried this it didn’t work. But I saw someone else comment that they actually had it on and hit the short pour button as they were shooting the water in with the syringe and that is the thing that worked for me. I turned the machine on, had the syringe filled with water and in the hole, and then the second I hit the short pour button I slowly pushed the water in and it worked!!! I’ve spent hours on this so very thankful that this worked! Thanks everyone for your tips!

Hey man, thanks for the video. I didn't have a syringe so here's what a i did: put it the nespresso in descaling mode; pressed Lungo one time; waited until the water was comming out, and let it run for 3-5 seconds; cuted the water by pressing Lungo again. Then i switched the machine back to normal mode and it worked. I noticed that the descalification mode puts some extra effort on pulling water, and since i learned here that the problem was the lack of water on the pipe, i thought it may work.

  • @davejones8922
    @davejones8922 ปีที่แล้ว

Tyvm Sammi! Add me as another proof that your method absolutely works. The ziplock bag was a complete waste of time.
A couple notes for those doing it after me: 1. Get a long and thin nosed syringe. It needs to line up with the small hole and a fat one is too big to do so.
    2. After you squirt the water in there the first time, cover the hole as you pull the syringe out. There might be pressured dirty water squirting back out.
