Captain Cold is one of my favorite villains in comics. The respect he and Flash have for each other is not something you see everyday in comics. Can't wait for LOT. :)
Such an underrated villain! Wentworth Miller is doing a great job as Cold on CW's The Flash, would love to see someone like Tom Hardy or Guy Pearce take on the role in the DC Cinematic Film Universe!
Why do people always hate on Flash villians? The best I can guess is because they have goofy names and costumes. Flash's villians are so interesting though. The Rogues have had so many good stories. Captain Cold in particular has a mutual respect with the Flash. They have been enemies and allies on many occasions. Also to the people saying villians Captain Cold and Heatwave are rip-offs of Batman villians Mr. Freeze and Firefly: Captain Cold was created on June 1957 where as Mr. Freeze (at the time named Mr. Zero) was created on February 1959. Firefly was created a decade before Heatwave, but was nothing like the Firefly you know today. Instead of being a flamethrowing pyromaniac like Heatwave always was, Firefly was "The master of a thousand lights" and would shoot rainbow colors. He didn't become a pyromaniac until decades later. I'm not knocking Mr. Freeze or Firefly. But Mr. Freeze was way less intersting than Cold prior to the Animated Series. I don't know, it's just kind of sad to see people always hating on Flash's villians. They are really cool in their own cheesy charm. I love Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Cold and Heatwave. They compliment each other so well.

Captain Cold is one of those villians that isn't really that bad or evil he just wants to make a buck he isn't Evil or a psychopath like others who want total destruction or domination he'll also help people out like he did in Forever Evil series while others helped fir personal reasons he was the only villian who was concerned for central city and helped out

Yes, he steals, destroys, and has killed a few people (never innocent bystanders), but he does so with restraint. He has also gone pretty far out of his way to actually HELP people on many occasions.
He's a Lawful evil(almost neutral) villain with cool ice gear/powers. How is he not likable? I mean the man if nudge a bit could have been a superhero.
Fun fact captain cold is one of the few villains to create subzero based technology. Something even the likes of Mr.Freeze is unable to do. While he might not be the greatest ice themed villain (mainly because there are a few villains like say killer frost who can use and manipulate ice to a greater extent.) But he is one of the best in the supervillain community.
I liked that! Have him and the rogues more character. Especially the part about him being the only one that really got his powers in a good way. the rest were totally screwed.

Can somebody explain how old Captain Cold caused The Flash any troubles? Couldn't Flash just run really fast and grab his cold gun before he even noticed?
Well I'm kinda new to Flash comics so I just wondered if there was some kind of explanation to this. Does that gun like radiate cold beam sphearically so that when Flash comes close he becomes more slow? If not, then why the hell Flash underutilizes his powers?
+Ylis Vauhdis The gun can cool things on a molecular level. Even if the flash is fast, the second Snart pulls the trigger, anything around it begins to freeze. When the gun is shot directly at the Flash or around him, it slows him down. That's why he's such a threat. Snart can literally slow down, or stop the Flash.
+C. Crave The thing is, that when Flash is fighting characters who are not just normal humans, he runs faster than the human eye can register. Like when he's fighting someone like Darkseid, Superman or Reverse Flash. So he easily could run and take the gun before Captain Cold even realizes what has happened, he doesn't because that wouldn't make for an interesting fight for the readers.

+zero they explain it, that cold makes molecules more dense, so the closer Flash gets to the cold gun, the slower he gets. So by the time he's right in front of Snart he would in theory be as slow as anyone else. Why he can't just grab Heatwave's gun is anyone's guess though. (maybe because he's still standing close to snart.)
Actually, he has killed a crooked police officer who was using a similar weapon to kill of rivals for a promotion and framing Cold for the crimes and the copycat Chillblaine, who murdered Snart's sister Lisa/Golden Glider.
Mr. Freeze has even stated that Snart's knowledge on sub-zero temperatures and his cold gun are more advanced than his own. Captain Cold can build a cold gun from scratch using simplae materials from in hardware store in just 30 minutes. That's impressive.

Dude, DC takes over 5 shows. They dont have that much money since their expenses mostly go for thr CGI. Plus, I think its pretty cool. The parka is a great accessory, it shows that he's afraid of showing his scars. That no matter what, he's still scared of his father.
Michael Champion was great as Captain Cold in 1990 series. I wish they bring him for cameo/supporting role in the new one, like they did with John Wesley Shipp, Amanda Pays, Vito D'Ambrosio and Mark Hammil. Wentworth Miller is good in the role, as well, though. He makes a great duo with Purcell's Heatwave.

For New 52 powers, It wasn't actually an EM explosion. Dr Elias, a new Flash villain, fused the Rogues with their weapons. Now Captain Cold, Heatwave, Weather Wizard, and Mirror Master have their powers infused and Golden Glider is now basically a ghost.
SO Captain Cold's initial is CC,which also stand for "Crowd Control" in gaming language.And he specialise in snaring and slowing his enemies,that a wierd coincidence.
I imagine Captain Cold, Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold all breaking into a vault or a lab at the same time, from different locations (different walls, ceiling, floor, etc). They then look at each other and say "Cold powers got you this far too, right?" Then they bicker on how to divide the loot as Catwoman or some cold power virtual unknown comes in and snatches it from under them.

You must be confusing him with Citizen Cold from Earth-X (who appeared in The Flash Season 4). Also, Flashpoint only happened in 1 episode and it was barely an adaptation.

The CW flash series needs a new captain cold. Miller was great but they turned him into an antihero. In the comics, the death of Leonard’s sister made him, for lack of better word, colder, and I felt like that could’ve been a better way of keeping Leonard in the villains gallery as opposed to DC legends. Mick Rory aka Heatwave has become an even bigger joke as a romance novelist of all things.
A cool villain, but I give the cold shoulder to the thought of him having super powers.Kind of making him frozen as a generic villain with powers. I won't warm up to him, I find it more intersting if the villains have no powers. Having a hard time coming up with ice puns, like some kind of Brain Freeze. Mister Freeze is cooler by the way.

His gun emits a 'Cold Field' that will stop bullets, cause a normal human full body frostbite, and reduce the Flash to a much slower pace.

I do enjoy the performance his actor gives in the newer Flash TV series. He overacts to an enjoyable degree.

What?! You must be misunderstood. Captain Cold died in Legends Season 1, while the Flash was in its second season. You must be confusing him with Citizen Cold from Earth-X (who appeared in The Flash Season 4). Also, Flashpoint only happened in 1 episode and it was barely an adaptation.

The CW flash series needs a new captain cold. Miller was great but they turned him into an antihero. In the comics, the death of Leonard’s sister made him, for lack of better word, colder, and I felt like that could’ve been a better way of keeping Leonard in the villains gallery as opposed to DC legends. Mick Rory aka Heatwave has become an even bigger joke as a romance novelist of all things.

Stop with the ice cold puns
A cool villain, but I give the cold shoulder to the thought of him having super powers.Kind of making him frozen as a generic villain with powers. I won't warm up to him, I find it more intersting if the villains have no powers. Having a hard time coming up with ice puns, like some kind of Brain Freeze. Mister Freeze is cooler by the way.
