Until I saw Bronson, I just assumed Tom was just another pretty boy phoned in supporting actor type. That movie floored me with its raw message and stylized look at a real man's struggle with anger and self-respect. The budget number really goes to showcase that if you put the right actor with the right amount of heart and soul into the right role, you don't need anything flashy to make a masterpiece. Bronson was an electric film despite the minimal set design thanks to creative camera work and a unique vision.
"The Drop" was such a cool, gritty, realistic and massively underrated movie. I know the video is about Tom Hardy; but James Gandolfini- what a talent.
Dude 😅 The legends is probably the ONLY movie where i felt as if the dual roles was actually a different guy 😅 No other double roles have every felt that way 😅 Truly a masterpiece 💪🏻
...And I'm staring at the back of this geezer's head. Drilling him with my eyes. The whole time thinking "Give Ron Kray your sausage. Give Ron your fucking sausage." Until, I'm not thinking it anymore; I'm broadcasting , through his skull and into his brain. 'Til he looks back at me and says "Ron, do you fancy my sausage? I've got no appetite this morning."
You can easily add Cillian Murphy into that list also! What makes it even better is that all four-Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, and Gary Oldman-appeared in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy at different points, each embodying their roles with that same chameleonic quality you mentioned.
Tom Hardy is a fantastic actor that does not get enough credit. I can relate with his struggles. Watching your video makes me want to watch Stuart: A Life Backwards again.
i've read it's supposedly in the works, but who knows... GREAT shows get canceled, and terrible ones go on for decades... especially now, seems like that's the objective, and people are definitely starting to be conditioned to even like them... or there's just so many people now connected, that even pure shit finds an audience. but people do seem to not be as picky or something... which would make sense, if all you get is crap, you don't know any better.
Season 2 of Taboo when?! It's been 7 years and season 1 was just so good 😭 One of my favorite lines in all of cinema and television is when Tom Hardy's character confronts one of his enemies and instead of attacking or 'elminating' or even just berating the person he simply looks them in the eye and calmly says "I have a use for you." It's terrifying! (The implication is that Hardy's character will manipulate them into doing something that achieves a goal far greater and more sinister than simply getting rid of one enemy.)
I think Havoc is going to be awesome. Tom Hardy, Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, t scenes.and Luis Guzmann is a hell of a cast. Plus Gareth Evans directing and doing the figh
Tom Hardy can do wacky, funny characters. But you can also see the real dark and broken characters like Tommy Conlon or James Delaney. And he plays the parts so damn well.
From the moment I first seen warrior (which ironically I seen after i recently got back from Iraq) I instantly admired Tom hardy. It was the first movie I seen him in and told myself I hope I see this guy in future films. I don’t know how to explain it I just connected with his character more than the actual main character in that movie. Ever since I been a huge fan and honestly he hasn’t let me down not once.
He's certainly not the worst rapper to hit the mic, he's done a bit with Czarface recently thats actually pretty good! Edit ... just watched the whole vid, you gave the Czar a nod ... Respect!
in the last scene of the drop Tom Hardy do a micro smile, its barely visible but it was perfect. i rewatch that scene hundreds of time. it really show his level of acting
It was Kismet, Hardy and Christian Bale acting together. Both have similar approaches to 'becoming' their characters, including weight loss/gain, and _near_ Method Acting techniques on the part of Hardy (Bale is a full-on MA.)
I remember watching Bronson after downloading it from some site (this was before streaming reached Sweden) and thinking "this guy is actually a crazy good actor. Maybe I will see him in some other movies". Glad I was right about that :D
Tom is much like Gary Oldman (admittedly Tom's favourite). And like Oldman, Tom can seemingly and effectively turn his hand to any roll and accent. I noticed his character in The Revenant sounded and acted a lot like Sgt Barnes in Platoon, likely by design as it appears Tom is quite the student of film.
I think his prime and best years were early 2010s until 2016-17. Because then he did the Venom trilogy but they were just fun and cheesy movies not great performances or movies by his caliber like The revenant, Mad Max fury Road, Warrior, Inception, Dark Knight Rises or even Child 44. This year, 2024, he did The Bikeriders and was a decent movie with an interesting story but was more a showcase for Jodie Comer and Austin Butler in my opinion, Hardy was fine but wasn’t his best performance. Or even Venom 3 was fun but his last really solid performance is probably Dunkirk or The revenant and that is over 7 years ago
Taboo was an excellent show that doesnt get the attention it deserves. If youre a fan of Hardy, dark Peaky Blinders type period drama where a determined and intense man fights powerful institutional forces you should check it out
He will be 1 of the top actors….does the movies he wants to…different types…challenges for him….he’s calmed down…still true to himself……he is my number 1 male actor…forever…it started with Bronson….
Yes, the movie is called "Havoc" directed by Gareth Evans, who make The Raid 1 & 2 and the equally awesome Gangs of London tv-series. The movie is apparently finished since 2023 but for some reason, hasn´t been released yet. Netflix has picked it up and according to the latest update by director Evans, it´s coming out in 2025, because they had to do some re-shoots. Tom Hardy himself talked about it briefly couple of years ago and said: " It´s a super violent action thriller, like The Raid..."
He's awesome. But I'm massively disappointed in the absence of Taboo seasons 2 and 3. It wasn't just Hardy. The entire cast was amazing. And the sets. The costuming. The characters. One of the best things I've ever seen on TV.
It's a shame Warrior didn't profit. It was great. And the thought that there could be more MM movies but won't is tragic. Furiosa was also great--my favorite movie that I've seen in 2024 (movies made in ANY year that I've seen this year).
I personally wasn't that huge on Hardy's role in Peaky Blinders. He mostly just comes of as comedic, mumbling barely comprehensible nonsense and mostly, he's just a part of Tom Shelby's various schemes. He's entertaining, yes, but it's hard to take him seriously. That might also because of the writing though: the show is so centered around Cirian Murphy's character that most of the other guys are just reduced to colourful tools. Taboo is pretty cool though... Sad that it didn't get continued.
They said that he would play Sam Fisher in a Splinter Cell movie. That was years ago and of course it's not happening. One of the main reasons is that he's getting old.
Would've looked like TV movies. I don't think Whedon has an interesting style in the slightest. Him, Peyton Reed, and Alan Taylor really struggle to make anything outside of television visually stimulating.
@@Hazy_Bubble it would not have been bad the first Avengers movie was amazing and Avengers Age of Ultron is one of the most misunderstood movies in all the MCU
Tom Hardy is fantastic. Also, there's something uniquely annoying about a TH-cam video where the narrator can't be bothered to properly pronounce names or emphasize the correct parts of phrases.
I know he's good at acting, but getting paid millions and then annoying all of your colleagues by repeatedly being multiple hours too late? I don't care who you are, that's just vile and selfish
Of course not. Bane was never part of the script, first of all. Second, when they announced the whole cast for Suicide Squad, Hardy was going to play Flagg, but like it was told, because of Revenant he had to drop and Joel Kinnaman was then cast. Third, it was another universe.
Producers are not at the hem. They are puzzle makers. Film / movies is a directors medium not the producers. The producer hire and can fire the director but the films success or failure lies on the director not the producer. This idiot narrator says at the helm as a producer.
Tom Hardy's one of my favorite actors, that guy's got skill.
you must be rocket scientist to conclude that. Aren't you?

Not really everyone talks about how great Tom Hardy was in it. That movie basically put him on
Tom Hardy is like Christian Bale because they're the "modern day versions of Gary Oldman.
Both have expressed their influence and are chameleons.
Do you knew how admiring he was of Gary Oldman? I think they come from the same neighborhood.
You can easily add Cillian Murphy into that list also!

One of the most compelling actors working today. Bronson was amazing.
Tbh I never felt like he had a slump? But maybe I was out of the loop lol

Comprehensive and Satisfying.
Tantamount to an Artist of great Dimension and Ability.
I worked with a bloke who went to school with Tom Hardy. He never got the impression he was going to be an actor at that age.

Hardy executive produced Venom 1, 2, and 3; all were smash hits. If I was an actor, I'd 'take it,' for sure.
Yeah it’ll be cool to see what he does after Venom. Maybe another shot at a TV show. He’s still relatively young so he’s got a lot of his career left

12:39 tom hardy did not win the 2016 best supporting actor oscar for the revenant, he was only nominated.. mark rylance won it for bridge of spies.
I hate the Venom movies for stealing Hardy from the great movies he would have done.
