I am an L1-L2 incomplete and am wheelchair bound as well but I can lift my legs up just like he can, can't straighten them out but even just being able to lift them helps alot

I used to get in/out of a lifted F150, it gets old fast, and the older you get, the more strain it is, I stopped when it required cortizone shots in my arms just to get by.

This video shows someone who has the strength in his arms to lift up into the car. You need to do a video on how a person can get in with little strength to lift into the vehicle.

Of course it shows someone who has strength in his arms...because he has it..thats like going to a video of someone who doesnt have strength in their arms and saying they need to do a video on how a person does it with strength LOL. TH-cam has a search bar for this exact reason. many videos out there showing how you do it with little strength.

I did not see any handcontrols on that car or spinner knob
which go together, he drives a normal automatic car
can a incomplete paraplegic drive normal gas and brake
car? That car has normal automatic .

do the wheels comes off ALL wheelchairs ?

All of our rear wheels can be removed from the chair. I can't speak for all the other wheelchair manufactures but my guess is that they all do too. It allows the end user to get their chair in and out of vehicles easier.

Pretty pointless removing the cushion and mud guards, why not just leave them on it

    • @Gdesign959

The backrest on most wheelchairs will not fold down with the cushion in place. That would make it pretty difficult grabbing the wheelchair and pulling it into the car over the driver.

TiLite, this is a sad ass video you all made. Using a person that's clearly not paralyzed to show how easy" it is to get in and out of a suv. That man has perfect balance and anyone like myself who is paralyzed and drives a pathfinder knows it is NOT that simple as the gentlemen in the video made it seem. Clearly a lake of judgement on this great company's part. Not cool

Paul Herrera I'm sorry you think that Dominic was not actually a wheelchair user. He was one of our employees who recently passed away (2 weeks ago). He was definitely a wheelchair user and a good man. He'd probably be happy to know that you thought he was an able body person in a wheelchair though.

TiLite Wheelchairs Im sorry to hear that, and i didn't mean to offend anyone i was simply saying he did not look to be paralyzed or a complete injury at least from the looks of the video, but either way that's not important anymore... did he pass from complications from being paralyzed? ;(

He had many health issues that were contributed to by his injury. He was a good man and fought a hard fight. He'll be missed.

You realize you can be paralyzed and still have good balance right? And you do know their is complete and incomplete injuries that help with balance and making things look "simple"? I'm paralyzed (T12 complete since 2013) and drive a F250 that is a higher transfer than this...for me it is as simple as this guy makes it. Practice it enough and stay in good shape you make a lot of things look simple. Of course being a low injury also helps with that.
