Frank's life being painful, horrible and bloody vs death that is peace, silence and the once you love. and that is why the final word in the episode is "home" Frank chose life evethought is hard and painful he realizes that there is something still worth living for.
This was the episode for me. Finale was great, too. But this episode had the feels, the violence, the tragedy. Finally a series that can stand next to Daredevil (at least for me).

In some of the Punisher comics, namely the Punisher MAX series by Garth Ennis, he pretty intensively explores the concept of, what came first, the chicken or the egg? By that I mean, did Frank become the Punisher after he lost his family, or was there always this darkness that he's been battling inside him even before his family died? It's a clever question that never really gets answered, but they explore that in this episode when he is having that vision of him talking with Maria, as well as the choice he makes at the end to keep on living as the Punisher rather than dying to join his family. That's the ultimate tragedy on top of the loss of family; it's the fact that he can never go home (the name of the episode, wink wink) again. This is the existence he is doomed to from now on. Either way, I agree that it was an incredible episode! Glad you liked it too!
The Born mini-series that Ennis wrote establishes the MAX version of Frank as someone who already was a psychopathic murderer even before his family were killed. One of the main reasons that I love the character is that Ennis writes him NOT as a good person or even as an anti-hero; Castle is portrayed as a straight-up serial killer who LIKES killing people. In my opinion, any further Netflix-Punisher seasons can only take the character in that direction. Unlike this first season, if Frank kills again, it will be of his own volition; he will have no excuse of self-defense this time.
The music, the camera shake, the hard thuds. The whole seen with the torture and eventual killing was so well done. It not only showed just how sinister orange was but it also showed that Russo still had respect for Frank.
Marvel has done such a great job in casting their characters in just Netflix there's luke cage, Matt Murdock, Fisk and now frank all of them not just performance wise but capturing the core of the character is just astounding just so well done not to mention what we see on the big screen
In a moment where Frank gets to choose between being with his family again in death, and exacting revenge on those who wronged him (one being Billy, a person he considered family), Frank chooses to live to deliver punishment because that's who he is. Maybe someday he really will die and he can be with his family again (I doubt it being part of the show) but until then he has work to do.

21:00 - Yeah, it was a drug deal between the three gangs, organized by Orange/Rawlins and Colonel Schoonover, Frank's old CO from Daredevil S2 in cahoots with Rawlins, who was the one who was actually selling the heroin in America after he got home from Afghanistan. But the main motive of the drug deal (since Schoonover never actually turned up) was to kill Frank and by extension his family, since they thought that he sent the tape to Micro and expose their operation. I'm guessing that Rawlins or Schoonover had one of their men open fire to send the gangs into a panic. I'm assuming that is how it went down.

Gas doesn't burn it's the fumes and a shirt soaking up the gas in the middle of a line wouldn't stop it. It would catch fire quicker cause it's semi dry flamble object. But show runners are excused this mistake on an otherwise epic episode.
They don't know what they are talking about (the fire talk I mean). Fire is the chemical chain reaction between oxygen and hydrocarbons that releases energy in the form of heat. The reaction only occurs between gases and requires heat to start the reaction. When wood burns, it is not the wood itself burning, but the gases released from when the wood is heated. That is why wood doesn't immediately ignite when exposed to fire. Gasoline has a very low evaporation point and can start the chain reaction with only a small spark. This has absolutely no relation to the punisher, I just felt compelled to educate them about combustion

My favourite episode of the series. It had blood, it had emotion, it had a satisfying death and it had an epic soundtrack.
Frank killing Rollins was the most satisfying scene I have ever seen in anything ever.
Man this episode was heavy. So many emotions, so much violance, so much just eveyrthing... Poor frank. Orange definetly deserved all that.
