  • In this week's episode we sail to Stornoway and celebrate reaching the most northerly point of our Scottish sailing adventure. We have a great evening in the pub, followed by a less great morning and the realisation that we're going to have to drive around the windy Outer Hebridean roads with raging hangovers. We try to see as much of the Outer Hebrides as we can in 48 hours, visiting the Callanish standing stones, Tarbert and the Harris Gin Distillery, Luskentyre Beach, North Uist, back to Harris via the Golden Road and finally the Arnol Blackhouse museum.

Absolutely brilliant and genuinely lovely talented couple. The outer Hebrides are as beautiful and breathtaking as the channel shows. Can’t wait to cruise/ meet up and drink whisky with you both again. 🎉Xxx

My first learning of the standing stones at Callenish was through William Horwoods book called Callenish and was a story about golden eagles, he also wrote a book called The Stonor Eagles which was about sea Eagles and their return to Scotland having become extinct in the area, (They were still in Norway) Not sure about the historical accuracy but a fasinating read anyway.
