I discovered nerdy Jason about 7 years ago. I discovered the cool Jason about 2 years ago. Seeing them together is just a gift that keeps on giving. 2J1C is a great format!
I love how Jason was repeatedly looking at the driver's side, salivating, because he wanted so badly to be the one driving, lol! Truly an amazing, if unobtainable, piece of engineering.
We both drove for fun for about 30 mins each, before starting the cameras to give our impressions. But once the cameras were off, yeah, we both wanted back in the driver's seat!
30 seconds in and I'm laughing. This is exactly what Jason brought up in the I'm sorry podcast with Matt last week. As car enthusiasts and car entertainment. We are not in competition with each other. We are here for the benefit of the viewer. I love these crossovers James is a national treasure! 😂😂
Camissa really plays off of you so well, this is probably the best format you've ever had on your channel. He gives a voice to your audience, contributing both educational and entertainment value.
Wow. This particular video, is the exact essence of what you described this car to be. You guys are funny, and work so well together, mostly, though…I absolutely need the engineering aspect, I can only watch so many “car reviews” before my brain turns to apple sauce. So you’ve hit that sweet spot. And seeing as that Jason is my all time favorite, I don’t know what more I could ask for…uh maybe film it in Canada?
Hell yeah, MOAR!!! 2 Jasons, 1 Car should be an entire review series on EVERY NEW MANUAL car sold in the USA. Love the seemingly raw, "unedited" feel of this conversation between two incredibly knowledgeable Manual Elitist enthusiasts! Y'all almost make me want to trade in my 2023 CT4-V Blackwing 6MT for one of these S/T's.
I watch a LOT of automotive YTers, and this was genuinely one of (possibly THE) most enjoyable, fun, engaging rerviews I've ever watched! Tha said, what a shame more people can't experience the 911 S/T firsthand.
With a starting price of $290k, no wonder people can't experience this car. Hey the regular plain jane 911 starts at just $115k. I used to own an older 911 when they were affordable; not any more. That is why I'll stick with my 2023 Camaro ZL1. Lot's of bang for the buck.
The dual camera perspective makes this even better. Nice scenery too . The S/T is unbelievable , and I know this has been said and turned out false numerous times already but it might be the last manual NA "lightweight" high rev 911... Until they best it again. (I mean, would it be a problem to make a logical gearing and not sell it in cali ? Just make the best car you can and ignore the naysayers :P)
What a superb video of a fantastic car with a top combo of hosts! Haven't seen such an entertaining video with so many interesting facts and numbers, maybe ever. This was a top piece of motoring journalism. This video was as good as the 911 S/T. Bravo!👏
Thanks for the info. I am one of the lucky folks that has an S/T ordered, thanks to reviews like this I am even more excited for this masterpiece to arrive. Can’t wait
Wow, congrats! You must be a Porsche regular customer? I can't afford an S/T, but a GT3 may be possible, except they're unobtainable as well. A dealer told me a couple weeks ago ANY 911 is a 4+ year wait. I find that hard to fathom, perhaps he was joking?
@@MarkLRandall. Yes regular customer. It’s strange because before Covid hit you could go to any Porsches dealer and find 911s on the lot. For some reason once Covid started everyone wanted a 911. Things get blamed on parts shortages, blah blah, but the numbers don’t show that as total built didn’t drop. Demand spiked
@Porsche311 DID YOU EVER GET THE PORSCHE?! wow man congratulations 🎊 👏 Hope to be able to just DRIVE a 911... owning a S/T would be like living a dream 😮... anyways, hope your living your dream... wish you the best for you and your beautiful machine 😊
14:35 100% agree about the Miata point. A good sports car is enjoyable at any speed. Cammisa said in the Hagerty Icons Nissan Z video the Miata is the most fun you can have in any new car so he genuinely agrees with Fenske. That was prior to S/T's release, but the view about Miata being a fun car is still valid. 25:50 love the remark about rear wheel steer making you feel disconnected. Just good old fashioned honesty.

I keep hitting the like button, but it just keeps toggling back and forth. Three of my favorite automotive channels playing together ... Wonderful! ... and hilarious. Thanks very much for not insisting on working in silos. The whole is indeed greater than the sum of the parts. Loving it.
“Hulk suit.” I’ve said for years that driving an excellent car is more like wearing a mechanical suit than driving, but this is the first time I’ve heard someone (mostly) agree with me. Thank you!
never driven a porsche but i had a mitsubishi mirage (900kg) with a 6a12 2.0l v6 MIVEC engine from a mitsubishi FTO GPX one of the smallest v6 ever made, did have lightweight flywheel but it revved nearly as fast as this in mivec, above 5200rpm and revved to 9k (mitsubishi vtec) the rotating mass of the engine was so insanly light but had factory high compression and 4.7 final drive gearing from factory, such a cool engine, would love you to take a closer look!
A "relatively" lightweight car, that's responsive, makes all the right glorious noises, and feels like an extension of your body. This is what Porsches used to be! Welcome back, old friend. But, since they're pretty much unobtainable, I'll have to stick with my '72.

You two should definitely start a channel together, with your engineering and car knowledge and Jason with his car knowledge and ability to entertain (not saying you don’t but you say a lot of things I don’t understand but find interesting) you two would be right up there with the Throttle House guys and they’re one of my favorite channels. What an awesome and unexpected video
I like Jason for the more technical specifications, and I like Jason for the occasional swear word dropping simpler explanation. Great banter that covered all that needed to be covered and was engaging.
A GT3 Touring is just as good, unless you really love unnecessary NVH. Imagine being stopped at a light and hearing your rattling flywheel and having to explain to people, "no, no, that's normal, it's got a lightweight....." And the person looks at you like you're insane, because you are. Maybe if you explained it in Jason's German accent it would seem normal. 😅
So great!!! I could watch you two review cars all day. Definitely the worst thing about that car is that just about all of us won't be able to enjoy one. The rest is pure driving bliss.
Just wanted to point out and appreciate how good the simple stacked video edit is - with the front-facing and cabin facing cams just wonderfully blending into each other. Bravo
Love the throw to Throttle House. I only found out about them last year and love them, but I’ve been following Jason with EE since like 3000-5000 subs (I was gearing up to go to engineering school, and had a couple car friends which made it a gem).
I have a 2022 M3. I absolutely love the car and feel fortunate that I am able to have at least this level of car, but having grown up obsessed with automotives it is incredibly disheartening watching these videos sometimes knowing I'll never get to experience better than what I have. I know these are first world problems but I'm glad to see enthusiasts like the two of you who aren't billionaires enjoying it for the rest of us
Great stuff, I want one! I really appreciate Jason 1 (mostly) holding both hands on the steering wheel in the correct 9 to 3 position and 99% of the time looking forward to the road ahead. Naturally aspirated is the key. I own three Porsches and a Ferrari Scuderia, have sadly not driven the S/T, but I would bet that the Scuderia is even better than the S/T as a daily driver. Everything with the Scuderia is perfect, the noise, the steering, the totally analogue interier and that magic robotised gearbox. All tuned by Michael Schumacher.
First off, thanks for making this video. Jason was great... now, to say something about the current state of automobile products and trying to achieve a more visceral experience I say, welcome to the aftermarket! It exists and is so crucial to the large group of us who really want a 911 S/T but have limited means.
Never thought would see the day... This is the best car review duo imho. Jason Enthusiast + Jason Engineer. (Though both have great passion and technical knowhow). Continue to engage our heart and brain.
You two have chemistry - great post. May I direct your viewers to Chris Harris' comparison review of the Aston Martin Vantage S with the 911R, and his comparison review of the 911R with an old Peugeot Rallye. Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear review of the 997.1 Carrera S is also very special to me. Once one kneels at the Alter that is naturally aspirated, manual 911 - their car crusade is complete .
Loving the Jason w/ Jason video! Maybe it's cuz last time was the first time Jason was with Jason on camera and Jason was a bit nervous and Jason interrupted a bit too much, but this time, Jason really vibed with Jason and had a really fun conversation-style review. Good work, Jason!
In my opinion, excellent commentary and analytics coupled with humour. Content wise, your analyses reminded me what I loved and miss of my E46 M3. At times I question my decision to switch out to a 991.2 c4gts. Rambling. Great video.
As Jason drove, Jason kept looking over with EXACTLY the face my friends used to make when I hogged the Atari controller as a kid and all they could do was watch 😂
Fantastic car/review a side that was probably the best conversation between 2 car journalists (or whatever title the Jason's have today) of the year. Informative, entertaining, text corrections to mistakes or unknowns. Just great. 👏
Really appreciate it! I can't speak for Jason, but I do not consider myself a journalist (content creator, automotive media, car TH-camr all apply). Journalists generally have separation between themselves and the ad/sales portion of their businesses (MotorTrend, Car and Driver, etc). Since I'm a one man show, I do all the tasks, which blurs the ethical lines of journalism, hence why I say I'm not. But we all have our biases, I try and keep things as objective as possible - subjectivity is where you have to be careful, easiest to simply avoid!
I haven’t even watched this video yet, but I absolutely loved the Sapphire video. But as a Porsche mega fan as well as a huge fan of these guys, this video should be amazing.
Want to talk about visceral experiences? I raced motorcycles and the man-machine interaction is intense and complicated. The 911 S/T sounds like it would be closest to the bike experience with feeling connected to the road through the machine.

This is the best Jasons vid bar none and nothing will supercede it
Jason is my favourite! Fr though, this is how all reviews should be. Well done.
Want to talk about visceral experiences? I raced motorcycles and the man-machine interaction is intense and complicated. The 911 S/T sounds like it would be closest to the bike experience with feeling connected to the road through the machine.
Love the two Jasons format. It's like a comedian-engineer riding passenger to an engineer-comedian.
Awesome episode and what a car 🤩please Porsche bring more of this in a regular model
Great Collabs! Watching this video again.
We need more 2 Jason 1 Car videos! A pleasure to watch. Bravo!
@26:55 what a brilliantly composed scene! So seamless!!
