YOu showed temperature are normal under control under what conditions. were the cpu coring were throttled. Thats only thing that explain lower temp.
I hope that you add Germany to your website as fast as possible
Please review one of the new MSI stealth AI studio.
I want to see how they perform.
can you compare it with your legion 5 from 2021 (5800h 3060 130w) in gaming? Would be nice to see how much the chips are improved for the past 3 years.
Great review! Easily the most comprehensive on this laptop that I have seen. Huge thanks!
Cheers
Thank you Jarrod, been wait for months since I last ask you about this!!!!
No problem!
OMG i stopped following laptop updates 1 year ago when I decided to get a desktop, and this caught me on surprise. What a amazing laptop!
Thank you so much for the great video and even the option on your website to see deals in germany, subscription def. worth it🙌😄
yeah a review from jarrod lets goooo!
Again, thank you very much for covering Linux support, Linux support start to become more important topic lately
Truueeee, thanks Jarrod!
why is linux support becoming importnat lately?
@@user-oj3zb8pr7gmaybe because many people are starting to use linux
@@user-oj3zb8pr7g linux support has been becoming important lately for 20 years already
@@user-oj3zb8pr7g Eventually we'll need to ditch Windows. Maybe 😆.
Improvements come so fast to legion laptops of all models it seems . Love being a legion fan , and a Jarrod fan 👍🏽
Knew something big was coming. Great vid
Looks like a great laptop. A few months ago, I bought an Acer Predator Helios 300 with an RTX 3070, i7 12700H, and 1440p 165hz IPS screen for $930. I was debating whether or not to go for it since the parts are 1-2 generations old, but there hasn't been much improvement on the CPU or GPU side in that price range. Overall I'm very happy with it, the most demanding game I play is Elden Ring, and it maintains 60 fps at 1440p max settings (no RT) in 95% of cases.
I would've loved to get something like this, but it costs ~50%-100% more than what I bought so I'm still very happy with my purchase.
I was about to jump off the fence regarding this laptop and the Linux compatibility segment sold me, thanks Jarrod!!
I love your attention to detail man,
I bought a Lenovo legion 6 gen 17 inch after you reviewed it a couple years back.
I'm very much happy with it.
this one is similar priced to what i paid but more powerful in every way ,definitely considering upgrading.
5070 would be a worthy upgrade imo .If you have the 3070 or 3070ti .
That white color loooks so nice. I just can’t help but admire it. I need the laptop now!
Thank you
it makes me anxious how you test the hinges of the laptop and specs aside, the color is absolutely gorgeous
Jarrod is doing us a favour testing the hinge. Nobody will test it the same way after buying, however there might be issues.
Well, look at it like this. Any laptop that has the hinges break because of that kind of short term testing probably has huge quality issues.
Hinge issues usually show up after quite a while.
The most common repair in my shop is broken hinges, to me, his hinge test is the most important test in the entire video.
I would rather see a reviewer break a hinge in a short test than find that after a year I have a broken hinge.
I personally purchased this model and had some challenges. My model had a creaky hinge and it got warm if it sat on anything other than than a flat desktop type surface. I returned mine for the hinge and not the heat. It was disconcerting the laptop made noises from the hinge and it was still new.
No Ethernet ? This is a major issue to a lot of customers in some regions
Welcome to thin
Facts
Just get a framework laptop 16.
I would recommend a HUB
Use a thunderbolt Ethernet adapter
I have the same config with the 2560x1600 screen, and absolutely love it. The build quality is great, and they did a good job color matching the different materials. Feels proper premium (as it should for the money).
I love this laptop! More content on this model please!!!
It's really impressive that they achieved such temps without vapor chamber.
directly to main point thank you 😇
This is top tier laptop review, holy smokes, thanks for testing all those aspects, it's difficult to know if some parts won't resist the wear and tear.
But your videos certainly help to get a glimpse into the real build quality and durability under load for this products!!
Your reviews actually helps the consumer in the process of actually choosing a good piece for the money, specially nowadays, when everyone wants to nickle and dime the consumer!!
Thanks, much love
PS: thanks for testing linux!!
Thanks again Jarrod!
Very good thermals in particular here, good job Lenovo!
👍
What about noise and nvidi GPU power management??
how did bro reply 2 days before the vid come out?????
easy to do when you gimp a HX CPU to 60W.......

thanks for making this, its at a perfect time where I am in the market to buy a laptop and this lenovo seems perfect. I was literally wishing you would make this (review of new legion), I follow most of your videos. Where can I buy that model you reviewed??
Love the detailed review!
Can you review the Acer Nitro V16? I got my eyes on it but there's no dedicated review of it so far
As usual the best review on the market ❤
Definitely very interested to see how this stacks up against the G16!
I love my 7 Pro and the specs are still fine even with the 3060. But upgrading only for this WHITE color is VERY tempting.
Excellent Review!
I have last years i7 Slim and I feel like it's a perfect balance of power and heat, since it has the 13th gen i9 and the same GPU.
Hi Jarrod, I returned my Legion 7i as I was having black screen issues after 20 days of use, now I am stuck between getting this again or the new Yoga 9i with meteorlake CPU, will you ever do a comparison of both, I want to know if the slight less gaming and 3D software performance is worth the extra battery efficiency, thanks
Finally, We got review on legion 7i laptop by Jarrod.😊😊
Been eagerly awaiting this one 🎉w
Hey Jared I’m considering this laptop but would you recommend the i9 14900HX or i7 14700HX variant? As I’m concerned about the i9 throttling to 40W?
When it is available for purchase, will you test the notebooks with Snapdragon x?
Great review. Is there such review for Asus Rog strix g16 2024 i9!
Excellent thermals, Lenovo did a great job there.
How does the build quality compared to 2024 ROG Zephyrus G16? Is there noticeable difference in rigidity?
I'm deciding between this or the rog strix 16, both with the same configuration.
Could you help me by telling me which one has better cooling?
I'm really enjoying these videos
Picked this exact laptop up a few weeks ago. Glad it got your stamp of approval! Do you have a recommendation for a 140W USB-C charger? Looking for one to keep in my backpack.
Lenovo C170 adapter
Hi Jarrod, nice review!
Also, which is the best budget gaming laptop of 2024?
Thanks for the review! I'm debating between this legion 7i and the Yoga Pro 9i. I don't play the most demanding games but i do play rdr or fifa after work for a few hours and on weekends. I value display, battery life and low fan noise. Any advice? Thanks!
7i since the ram is not Soldered
Which one to choose between legion 7i and rog zephyrus G16? Both with same rtx 4070 and similar price
Great video thank you please review the acer helios neo 16 2024 model
this is so helpful! i am buying this bc i do blender art so it will be perfect for rendering! thanks for this
Thank you for the review. Question: can the 3k2k screen run games in 1600p or 1440p just fine or do you notice any blurriness? In my country there are only 3k2k screen options available.
Hi Jarrod - do you ever do reviews about gaming mice and keyboards? I'm looking for a combination that offers good performance and value. Thanks for the great informative content! 😊
Sorry, no. We don't cover any peripherals.
Meanwhile, budget gamers are eagerly waiting for JT's Legion 5i pro review
Make a video comparing performance tests between Scar 18 and Titan 18
Great review! I like you describe everthing, then run tests. I hate reviews that re-state the marketing literature and specs with no value added, except ai re-writing! I agree it would be better to have the I/O moved backwards.... The laptop is suddenly occuping a lot of desktop space.
I have heard the Legion 7i is based on the 2023 Slim, but I think you said it correctly, it replaces the slim 7i. There is no new 2024 Slim 7i model for US, Canada, Europe, or Aus/NZ per psref. Thanks
I'm not getting a new laptop this year but i do hope they keep this form factor next year and up to the time we get rtx 5000 series graphics cards
4070 8GB VRAM = R.I.P
because it's not a 4070. It's a 4060 ti. It's a terrible GPU for its class.
Its one thing if the screen was 1080p. But 8GB VRAM on 1600p is laughable.
I don't know why laptops even offer anything beyond 1080p. Scaling is atrocious in Windows and everything looks too small on 100% on 1440p and above.
@@vik1ng313 Even for 1080p some games need more than 8GB. Hardware unboxed compared 8 and 16 GB versions of 4060 ti, sometimes 16GB version's fps was like 5 times higher.
As for 1600p - I have a Legion 5 pro with it and it looks great. I agree about scaling issues though, they are definitely present in some apps. I honestly wish I had a glossy 1080p screen instead of matte 1600p. It would look better, would be cheaper and would consume less power.
@@vik1ng313Wdym by 8gb vram on 1600p is laughable, my laptop is rtx 4060 with 8gb vram and display is 1600p 165Hz and i play most of the latest games in ultra graphics with 60+ fps. (for some games without ray tracing) i dont find anything wrong.
Have always watched your videos in English. First Time watching this in HINDI…. Kudos! 😊🎉
I plan to grab this one, but only the Glacial White model is available at the place i plan to buy it. Do you think its easy to get dirty? Or would it be fine? Thank you.
Highly considering buying one of these or a g14.
Could you explain why in some instances (like with the g14) the cooling pad will reduce noise and others (like the 7i) it won’t?
I’m assuming it’s the profile completely maxxing the fans regardless of thermals. Thanks!
Finally a worthy successor to the 2022 Legion 7i!
I still using this and still happy. Best buy ever!
I guess that's probably meant to be the Pro 7i based on the GPU specs it can have
@@JarrodsTech how is the hindi audio track in your voice ?
Legion 9i is closer to that than this. Hoping Gen 10 redesigns it so it doesn’t has to have inverted motherboard just like XMG’s 2024 Neo laptops.
@@goldmastersimulations That isn't very good though. It has liquid cooling that doesn't really do anything good, it has a weird keyboard and touchpad layout, and is way too expensive for what it offers.
Hi Jarrods, can you review some tulpar 's laptop ?
banger tshirt as always
🤘
I have a 2024 Razer 14 which is amazing, but I switched to this for the daily desk work laptop and bigger screen. This is a great video to maximize this laptop.
Just bought this laptop and its a beast!!!! It can run any game I want it to with the 4070 and i9 14th gen!! The only issues I saw was battery life and it does get a little hot when playing games. None of those things are issues for me!! I love how this laptop looks!
Of course it gets hot. All gaming laptops do lol
not all gaming laptops it just depends how good the cooling solution is
Hi, should I go with this year Legion 5i or Legion 5i Pro?
Lenovo still dominates, happy to see it
Nice video🎥 💖💖
@JarrodsTech Are you still doing metabox reviews mate? Would love to see you run some of their current offerings
Any news on the predator helios neo 16 ??? Really eager for that review bro
We have one here for an ad they want to run but we weren't planning to review it. Same as last year just with newer CPU, waste of a weeks worth of testing to be honest.
Do a review on the Legion 5i Gen 9 !
Please also review legion 5i, thank you
I'm looking for my first gaming laptop/pc. Would this be enough to handle FPS games like overwatch2? or do you think a laptop with more power /performance would make a huge difference? Its a bit overwhelming how many options there are
Lorna Shore!! Great review btw. In the market for a laptop that excels in programming and gaming. Any recommendations for best all around gaming laptop? Not concerned with budget, but also don't think spending thousands of dollars is necessary to get a good all around device.
Please cover XMG Neo 16 2024 fully, when it comes out. It seems like it is the best option considering its price/performance ratio, since they've fixed its build quality.
Hi can you suggest a gaming laptop for 1600 usd. I thought of buying Alienware M16 R2 now and would like to hear other opinions
Is it worth buying mini led feature?
How does the Lenovo legion 7i 2024 compare to the Acer predator helios neo 16 2024?
I just got this laptop and love it. If I had to gripe about a couple things, I'd say the touchpad feels like a loose, rattling aluminum can versus the solid "thump" of Lenovo machines from 3-4 generations back. Also, it's confusing that they include a large 230W silicone charger and are marketing this as a portable laptop. They introduced the more portable 330W GaN chargers for the larger Pro models, which seems a bit backwards to me.
I managed to get a good deal on a 12th gen i7 - 4070 Asus TUF for less than $1k US. I don't think ill need an upgrade for years to come. After months of use, I wish the VRAM buffer was larger than 8GB's. Great video
Hi, What is the best RTX 4060 and i7 laptop currently? Is it the Legion 5i Pro?
Those AI Audio track tho, wow! took me a second to realize its was youtube new audio features
I dunno why i should take this one instead of the new Yoga 9. You get a full aluminum body, a better mini LED high contrast ratio 1200 nits display and much better battery life in low performance tasks (Core Ultra CPU). Thoughts?
Can you make a review about the Geekpro series and compare them with Loq line
Im trying to decide between this and the g14 for $100 less. What do you think? Is this a but cooler and a better performer than asus g14?
Hi Bro, Can you suggest me? Hp omen 16 i7 14th gen 4060 laptop or can i go for 4070 laptop? I thinking to buy next month. Please tell me
you really have to review the asus flow x16, I think that lapotop is great!
can't imagine how much effort goes into creating these videos. much respect.
is the inside of the laptop, around the keyboard, made out of all metal too?
Quick question:
Will there be an AMD edition for this?
Helllo plz reply 😢
Same specs gamimg laptop... should i go for acer helios 16 or asus tuf?
Once again HINDIE I liked it man 😁😁
When will it be available in the UK ? And will it cost an arm and a kidney ?
I just realized, the Pro 7's review isn't out yet. Kinda surprising to me. Although, I do wish that they give the thing a white colored painjob and a clearer mode color on the power button rather than just a mere dot. Doesn't have to be a fingerprint scanner, just make it more blatant
My G in Lorna Shore t-shirt, looking solid!
Will you review the Pro 7i Gen 9 with the 4080/4090? Because I plan on getting that, and I want to know what to look out for
No, there's no point, 14900HX is basically the same as 13900HX, not worth an entire video, the laptop is the same otherwise as the video I did last year.
Which color is the best?
I read information that on this laptop you can unlock the undervolt in throttlestop through the BIOS. This is true?
Please review one of the new MSI stealth AI studio
I really want to see how they perform 🙏🏻
Hey Jarrod, after almost only seeing tested laptops with mostly midrange to high end specs I have been wondering if you’re still gonna test some more cheaper 1080p budget laptops because we now got the Acer Nitro V 15, Acer Nitro 14,16&17 and MSI thin 15.
For some reason Acer don't like to send us Nitro, so it is more difficult to get.
@@JarrodsTech Damn, that’s strange.
I'm torn between this and the 2023 model. the same specs cost $350 more in my country. any recommendation?
I'm really looking forward to your review of the laptop Honor Magic book 16 Pro Hunter ultra7 rtx4060
Hey Jared! Does the i9 14900HX throttle on this? Which would you recommend the i7 14700HX or i9?
i7 would be the better option for gaming unless you need the better multi core performance for some other task . Cheaper and may be slightly cooler too .
I know it's technically last gen, but will there be a review for Legion Pro 7 with the AMD 7945HX?
Nope
Waiting for the review on Legion 5i (2024, Gen 9)
Waiting for an in-depth review of the Asus Zephyrus G16. I wonder how it compares to this.
I am looking at this for my next laptop. I am looking at 2 different configurations from best buy, an i7 and 4060, and an i9 and 4070. There's a $300 (USD) price difference. And some of the reviews comparing the i9 in this to the 7i pro show noticeable hits in the CPU performance due to thermals to the point where the Core i7 seems like a more reasonable CPU option, but then I have to go down to the 4060 graphics. I would love to see a comparison of these 2 configs to see how much of a difference it is between them really is to see if the i9/4070 is worth the extra $300.
