I needed this. When I asked for advice in the discord server I sometimes frequent, the other Ram players would just tell me not to throw swords if I'm not in the corner, not much else. The non-Ram players would be like "just get people in the corner and you're an easy mode character Ram is disgusting hyuk hyuk" This is actual solid advice which I needed, thank you
I've actually had a lot of success trying to catch people jumping with my S sword in situations where they're close-ish to a wall and im like third of a screen away. They rarely see it coming and risk/reward ratio seems to go in favor of reward. As long as it works I'll keep doing it. Also, great video as always. It reminded me how I have to work on my garbage air conversions.
It's the type of thing that once you fight more experienced players they typically won't fall for it as much and you end up just throwing away your S sword. If it works that's fine, just be careful!
Quality guide as ever, and the best part is all these strats apply to Ky as well so it works out for me in the end XD now I just pick between the two depending on how comfortable I am with the match up. Picking up Ram as a second main was a great idea.

Amazing guide. I've learnt a lot because I'm quite struggling in midscreen and not using k button enough. I observed that Ramlethal lately doesn't have much top 8 presence. I am afraid that the character has been figured out and doesn't have much wiggle room to improve more. Most of ramlethal player I've seen has more or less the same playstyle and the game plan seems to be too one dimensional. You are to be honest, the best ram player I've seen so far and I really like to see more of your tournament run. Hoping to see more innovation in ramlethal play. :D I am not a huge twitch viewers though and I haven't seen you much again in some tournaments I follow like NLBC or monthly playstation tourney. It would be great if you upload some more guide or tech, also some of your tourney run or matches highlight.
Active moves like 2D and 2HS are vital against fast characters. Chipp and Milia often approach from the air, making 2HS brilliant for stuffing ground or air approach. Very good conversion off of it too. I didn't know about 2D for Gio, very helpful. 2HS at lower levels is very useful against ppl who just braindead rush in.
The only thing from the video I haven't been using is 2D. I often use 2S for the sitations mentioned there but I guess that move actually does extend her hurtbox and recovers slowly.
The first few tips were just refreshers to me, but the last few tips were actually stuff I haven't considered yet Will definitely make use of these concepts and get better
Those are nice tips, I just recently started using her kicks more in neutral. 2D is like a poor-man's Nago 2S. Bit more recovery but gets the job done. It definitely helps against all those people who think they can run-up 6P in my face, they quickly stop doing that. Despite realizing how good of an anti-air her 5P is, I still struggle dealing with Chipp and Milia. They just whiff-punish 5P too regularly. I know it's me mistiming it, but is definitely not easy to do. My only complaint about 6P is that Chipp's j2K can dodge it and hit Ram's butt instead of going into the hitbox, but that move became so much easier to anti-air with 5P or cS now.
Chipp and Millia will never be easy to anti air really but once you get a good feel for your options it becomes a bit easier to know what you SHOULD do. Just a matter of picking the right option in the moment
ohhhhhhh I didn't know 2D could beat Gio's f.S like that lol. Even on trade you get a clean knockdown -- that seems really good. I've been trying to use raw 2D more often since it often surprises opponents who aren't really looking for it.
What are your thoughts on 2H as an anti-air? Do you think they will buff it to see more use? Or do you think the reward off counterhit make it hard to balance/change? It's a move that I barely use since her 6P and 5P are so much more reliable.
2H is good situationally but is mostly a read since it's slow. Usually I only use it when I just am hoping I can nuke someone since it's not very reliable lol. I'd like the horizontal range improved a bit at least

Kinda difficult to sum up in words but you kinda want to play around his 6S by either 6Ping it or pressing f.S preemptively. Occasionally dashing in with some 5K or 2K and just try to push him to the corner.
I use a Qanba Obsidian arcade stick. What type of controller you use is totally preference. Whether you like pad, stick or something like a hitbox, it's up to you!

Also not as rewarding as 2D! 2S is good for the range though and is another way to discourage 6P use from the opponent
