It is very pleasant and, most importantly, honest to listen to complaints from Ramlethal privileged player. Ramlethal has not been a bad, even mid tier character in any of the game's patches since its release. The main point is that no one seems to complain about your favorite character, which is important. Millia and Johnny are also threats. Who will be next? Bedman or Zato1? I’ve been maining Johnny since his release and I’ve always thought he was strong. He’s by no means broken, but definitely a high tier minimum. The biggest issue I see is that 90% of players don’t know the matchup. For example: 6K > 214H. This string is very strong because it frametraps everything, even jumps, and can lead to a full combo on counter or RC. However, every character in the game can 6P the gap in the cancel. You have to be fast on your 6P but if you get it Johnny gets counter hit. Another thing I often see is that people don’t punish mist finer. All versions are unsafe unless you block them from long range or get hit by a card. Not to mention, all his main pokes have massive extended hurtboxes and are pretty laggy. Seriously, I often get away with murder against a lot of people

I just Johnny is just a good character that people find annoying. I don't find him overpowered at all. I don't hate fighting Johnny. Johnny being able to dash block like every other character is a good thing. Johnny techning throws on his throw attempts instead of straight up losing if the opponent throws is a good thing. Johnny just does the same stuff he did before the buffs but it's actually functional now. Many of his weaknesses are still there just the window to execute them is smaller. The just ironed Johnny but and I don't think he's a problem rn

my personal gripe with Johnny is that he just sort of gets neutral for free like he does not have to try at all, I find his frames and reach the main issue

I think if they are going to balance him, they should nerf his reversal by making it no longer invincible and make it take like 7 frames to travel fullscreen, instead of 1 frame, and make 2h minus 23 and cant be canceled on block, plus make his damage get scaled very fast.

What I hate about strive lately is that they make too many thing guard crush on block. It's a very lazy way to make a move strong imo.

Literally stopped playing once he got buffed. Its quite difficult to stop him once he gets his guard crush game started. Idm his dash buff but he either needs a nerf to his guard crush or needs card limits similar to old johnny where he used coins. Id rather watch paint dry then engage with johnny. His combos and mixups arent even hype either.

Many players argue character who was broken, then they quit. When HAPPY CHAOS debut, some players quit. Now is Johnny buff AGAIN and nerf 623S, which cant RC, it was make some character attack almost no penalty, I mean Johnny. So i quit.

Ain't no way we just got another one of these. I'm starting to think Guilty Gear players have a lot of problems.

I think Johnny has too much health. Though I think the easiest single nerf would be to his dash. Back to 18f or even 17f would force Johnny to play more of the spacing game that makes sense for his archetype, instead of also having random dash up throw like a rushdown character.

I think that complaining about Johnny is like 80% justified, because people like "knew" the matchup before, dash was not safe like at all and mist finer (and card but thats a bit harder to catch) "isnt safe". But now that they just got rid of one of his weaknesses he only has the "not safe" mist finer. But now that people are playing Johnny people are seeing that even mist finer is quite a hard or even with some characters not able to be punished basically making it so he has NO weaknesses. Though the complaining is still not completely justified because you CAN punish mist finer its just you might not actually be able to like 50% - 75% of the time

limit the amount of cards he can hold just like his coins in the old games

my thoughts exactly. johnny is annoying to fight, but has too much health compared to other characters that are annoying to fight. johnny and chipp are both characters that ask for a lot of brainpower from me to fight- but at least chipp dies in two hits.

they simply need to revert the dash changes back. He needs a weakness. He was fun to play when he was a space control setup character that needed to prep to move forward. Now he is just another dumb in you face character but with insane normals
