I think he is the best Irish dancer in the world and an excellent teacher. I was fortunate to be a student of his workshops. everytime I learnt something new about dancing. Not just techniqs (he does not focus on techniqs) but to feel the music and rhythm...it's hard to explain. Try to go to one of his workshops and you'll understand! DODG is the best Irish dancing show ever. There WAS a soundtrack, can anyone help how to buy the original Solas CD?
That's Winifred Horan (fiddle) and Mick McAuley (accordian)! I had no idea they were in this! Two of the most talented musicians on the planet. Mick's voice is AMAZING. They're both from the group Solas. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
Hi! Yes, he's much-much better as a dancer and choreographer. He makes new things. And an exceellent teacher: he treats everyone the same way, doesen't care if you are a proffessional dancer or not. He's a teacher at Blas Summer School of Irish Traditional Music and Dance in Limerick for the whole two weeks (I wish icould go there again). Try to go there.
No, I'm not a proffessional dancer. That's the beauty of it: he doesn't care, he will teach you anything, that's his philosophy, he likes teaching but doesn't want to run a dancing school. He travels to the U.S. for a month in every year and runs master classes. See his website, he might be close to you this year and catch him!
what a lovely song! and an absolutely fantastic dancer... it's just amazing to watch Colin Dunne dancing!!!
