    86 is very good on the quick one timer 10-15 feet from the net. I expect many assists for Bedard, and for Teuvo

    Appreciate the fact that Jay is willing to admit we can’t pay a superstar forward to come in Chicago yet wasn’t up in arms about the Blackhawks drafting Levshunov over Demidov.

      @jzawaskiCHGO 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the feedback but it’s much easier to sign a star forward than a star defenseman. I preferred Demidov, but being “up in arms” would have been an insincere reaction. You’ve got the wrong dude for that.

    • @MrNewstyle23
      @MrNewstyle23 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jzawaskiCHGO So you believe Bertuzzi and Teravainen were “superstar” forwards we had the ability to sign during this period. Interesting. It’s called free agency for a reason because it’s a choice by “BOTH” parties to select each other. So it’s absolutely obvious that signing a superstar to pair with Bedard is quite hard. Now, if you look at “Arty the party” elite traits, the only thing I heard he excelled at during the draft is his “grand personality”! Yes, he is solid or good at a lot of things, but he doesn’t have an elite skill. Hopefully, I am wrong, but you don’t pass up on a player like Demidov for an above average RD!

    • @jzawaskiCHGO
      @jzawaskiCHGO 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I never said those guys were superstars, but when you look at what becomes available in free agency, top forwards are easier to find. Defensemen, especially right side defensemen, are harder to find. This year’s top Fs were Stamkos and Guentzel. Next year it could be Draisaitl, Rantanen and Marner. Meanwhile, this year’s best D was Chris Tanev. Like I said, I preferred Demidov too, but he went fifth. It’s not like they passed on Celebrini.

      @@jzawaskiCHGO Hey Jay, I watch your show every day so I know you and your colleagues wanted the Blackhawks to draft Demidov. And I accept Levshunov as the Blackhawks’ choice because I understand the logic behind drafting him. Quality RD are hard to come by. I’m rooting for the kid! But choices have consequences. Decisions like this can define our franchise for years to come. As for Kyle Davidson, any GM would have selected Connor Bedard with the number one selection his draft year. But it’s decisions like this that will place the Blackhawks back in Lord Stanley’s good graces! We shall see in three years if Levshunov was the correct choice. I truly hope he becomes the best RD in the NHL!

    Bertuzzi is gonna be so sick on this team. Way too often did I see the puck go in front of the net for NO ONE to be there for a redirect or a rebound goal, this guy is going to solve that issue so fast. Cannot wait.

    Enough help for what? There aren't going to be meaningful games played in February or March to sneak into a playoff spot. This team is only marginally better and will be lucky to score 200 goals.

  • @ernesteison7979
    @ernesteison7979 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I'm sure Bedard is well aware that the Hawks are making plans for 3 or 4 years down the road. Guys like Teravainen and Bertuuzzi are not going to be part of the plan. The real problem is how to dump seth jones. No team is going to be dumb enough to take that guy off the Hawk's hands without some serious compensation.

    If they were going to sign these bums I would rather they just load up other teams bad contracts for the next 2 years and accumulate more future picks. Then once we know if players like Nazar, Reichel, Moore, Korchinski, Del Masteo, etc are the real deal or they have to be cut loose…then sign some big names.

      They are definitely not a playoff team. They are in the hardest division in the nhl. Half the guys will be gone at the deadline and get more draft capital. More than half the guys who were brought in are for veteran presence and stop gaps for the young guns. These vets will help the young men for the future

    Enough help for what? Make the playoffs? It's pretty difficult to have close to the worst team in the NHL in one season and the next season make the playoffs. Davidson certainly did what was needed though to be a better team. He added toughness. He added some players who will play hard on the puck along the boards and in the corners. He added some more scoring. But he needs to add more scoring help. HOWEVER......... if you are a Blackhawks fan, like I am, it should be a lot more exciting to watch them next season.

      Agreed. They’ll be watchable moreso than last year. It literally wasn’t worth watching when bedard was out for that dozen or so games. Like they were painfully bad.

    I'm happy for Seth Jones. He gets criticized so much but he was never supposed to be the #1 shut down defenseman. They had no other option but to make him that, so his offensive production plummeted. Sure, he made a lot of mistakes/bad giveaways/etc... but I have to give him the benefit of the doubt to some degree when he's playing 25+ minutes of ice time a game in a role that's not his specialty. Plus he was playing with a rookie defenseman for almost every game. I'm hoping this season he bounces back strong.

    They did? Lolwut? I’ll have what he’s smoking. They’re still a long way away from the playoffs and what’s with the teuvo love? He was invisible aside from a couple plays when he was a hawk. I’m sick of this franchise taking back throwaways. Will he help? Sure, but he’s not much of an impact player. Never really was. We needed a neccas/guentzal signing along with Bertuzzi.

  • @marcussilva4011
    @marcussilva4011 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Kurashev should be on the top line imo

    • @RT-xj3of
      @RT-xj3of 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely not. He’d be a 3rd liner at best on a contender. He cannot create enough offense to be top 6. He’s only top 6 on the hawks cause the roster is that weak. With teuvo and Bertuzzi he should be 2nd line now at best.
