I'll never get tired of watching this routine, the choreography is awesome and her balance between elegance and power makes it perfect. I want to see her on the top of the podium -any podium- with this routine, Afanasyeva must be rewarded in some way. I hope she doesn't retire any time soon.
This was the best coreographed routine of the entire competition. I haven't had seen dancing and artistic elements since a long, long, long time ago. And the music just made it better. Bravo Ksenia !!!
This is so BEAUTIFUL. The tumbling is awesome, the choreography is beyond amazing, I hope she wins olympic gold. I love Aly and she's got powerful tumbling but her routine pales in comparison. This is so elegant and eye-catching! I'm fine with either of them winning gold though :D
I love this routine. When I saw her low floor work I immediately thought of synchronized swimming. I'm gonna go watch some synchronized swimming now, thanks ksenia :)
One of my fav things on this vid are the guys cheering in the video :) You guys seem so fun to hang out with. I love how you guys are enthusiastic and cheering for AFAN! I can watch this routine all day long.
I'm a former rhythmic gymnast and this was the FIRST floorroutine EVER (!!) of an artistic gymnast that gave me goosebumps! Wonderfull routine with spectacular things to see combined with good moves. Big thumbs up!!
The 2012 Russian team may have had the best floor routines as a whole since the collapse of the Soviet Union. And Ksenia's was the crème de la crème! Class, elegance, difficulty, variety, ARTISTRY - she had it ALL! 💗 I could just watch her prance around the floor with that divine posture! Opulence! She owns EVERYTHING! 😍
Hurrah!!! Afanasyeva puts the artistry back in artistic gymnastic once again!!! I do miss the previous FX with the hand gesture to the sigh in the beginning. Such a small detail but turning the FX into a piece of art. This is great stuff too though, the middle bit with the back walkover to elbows and shoulder stand with the legs is really cool. I really hope she wins FX Gold!!!
It's a little easier to find this music than her last one because the different pieces have actually been used by other gymnasts before...but I don't know their actual names unfortunately. The music in the first two tumbles was used by Peng Peng/Christine Lee and Imogen Cairns this year. The music at her first double turn is the fight music from Kill Bill. The rest of the music is by the same artist that was the main part of her 2011 music that was used by Youna Dufournet in 2009.
She blew me away at worlds and she just blew me away ten times more. AMAZING routine. AMAZING choreography. AMAZING tumbling...I HOPE she gets that floor gold.
Gorgeous routine and absolutely superb choreography. It's so sad to see that the russian gymnasts are the only prominant 'artistic' gymnasts left. Komova is stunning to watch, Mustafina has a grace that compares to no one else and Ksenia's blend of power and artistic touch is just beautiful to watch. I genuinely will be upset if she doesn't win the Olympic gold medal on floor. I mean, Raisman's tumbles are spectacular, but the rest of her routine is blasé. This routine has so much to offer.
I am also a fan of Aliya. She's a tough cookie. If everyone was like her then they could have won the gold because she's very steady. I was happy she won 4 medals. I like Bross as well and wished that she could have made the team. She can do all events. I like all those gymnast you mentioned. I just have a problem with the stupid fans who are biased from Russia or whatever and give their gymnast credits just because of grace and beauty.
The longevity in gymnastics is extending aswell. There were quite a few older gymnast competing at the Olympics. Sandra, Catalina, Vanessa, Lauren come to mind. It´s more the case whetever she still wants to continue and I think she wants to for atleast a year or two.
There is a gymnast from Germany who is like 36 and she still competes wordwide. In fact, she was at the 2011 World Championships and I think she got a bronze medal on vault
Elegance, beauty, grace, PERFECT routine in my opinion. A shame that she didn't won a medal on floor, that fell on the team finals cause some insecurity on her but, this is absolutely beautiful! :]
2) I dont know what would be more devastating for a gymnast. Not qualifying for the AA or falling short of the gold. Then there are the gymnasts at trials that wanted to make the team to go to the Olympics but didn't. Did they have trials in Russian with many girls wanting to make the team?
I love everyone. I travel and meet all kinds of people. I wouldn't mind meeting someone like you as well. I like my country despite all its flaws. There are more to do in the US than any other nation. We don't even need to travel really. Hawaii, New York, LA, Florida, Colorado, Washington, Texas and so much more. Bet you haven't even heard many of those. Our gymnasts do what they need to to win. We don't always have to pretty little ballerinas. We win in other sports besides gymnastics.
So I finally found that the music here is Grand Guignol but there is a weird break at @23 seconds that sounds so familiar...like from a movie? Anyone know what it is? Is it the old Batman TV Show?
Afan does have a harder routine. This one was a bit watered down. Also she won last year at worlds so i think anything can happen if she just goes clean! She deserves a medal for this piece of art! ^^
There should be a rule during the draw of lots saying that the top 4 or 5 teams may never share the same subdivision. I remember this rotation, it was SUB 4, and the official broadcast showed only Mustafina and Grishina on FX, alternating with Sui Lu and Yao Jinnan on BB, so no Afanasyeva (then World Champion) and Komova FXs or Deng Linlin and Qiushuang BBs, due to the alternating... until some amateur videos like this started sprouting on TH-cam and forums. Same with Yao and Seitz UB, two finalists, but no broadcast in Quals
This is a dumb question, but in gymnastics (more specifically, the Olympics) can you do one floor routine in the qualifiers, then a different routine in the team finals, then a different routine in the individuals? Or do you have to do the same routine in all floor exercises in the Olympics?
If she hit a solid routine during the event finals she would've definitely medaled over Mustafina... And I kinda wish she did, this routine is so artistic and original it's just amazing.
Youre right its just so frustrating so see how unappreciative some people are. Ill never understand why its so hard for some people to recognize good gymnastics regardless of the country.
Jordyn did gather herself and even gave an interview right after qualifications. Do you think Komova would have given an interview right after the AA competitions. People can cry if they want but they have to know when to stop and then start again when they go to the locker room and then stop again for the medal ceremony. Maroney didn't hug one person but she hugged everyone else even in her state so I'll give her a pass. What would Komova do?
I am live in America and I can say that Mustafina is amazing because of her fearlessness and gracefulness. Rebecca Bross is amazing because shes determined and has mental toughness. He Kexin is amazing because she succeeded in coming back to defend her bars title. Izbasa is amazing because she is consistent and rocked it when needed winning Vault Gold. Chusovitina is amazing because, well shes how old and has how many World and OG medals? See? Its not that hard to give credit where its deserved.
Jordyn didn't ignore anyone. She gave hugs to whoever came to her like the Great Britain gymnasts. Her teammates understand her situation so they are okay with it. She bounced back more than okay for the team to win. I doubt Musta and Komo would be okay if they didn't qualify for AA. So what if she didn't get any individual medals. Neither did Komova really for her bars and beam.
So is it easier for people in Europe to be international travelers or for the US who have two oceans on each sides and two big countries on top and both where we have to travel thousands of miles to be one? People in Europe can get to another country in like a few hours. So all those conflicts in Europe came about because of your different cultures.
@tekkenfan01 Russia still has more overall holes. Becausr of the judging in Olympic events, it was pretty clear that t if they both hit, Nastia would win, because she had great artistry. Afanaseyva had great tumbling, good landings, great leaps, excellent choreo, beautiful turns, even her hands and feet were pretty. She had the perfect balance of all the elements. Thats why people are saying Alys rotine was worse.
There is something different about her floor work- the body form, the preciseness, the great match to the music. such a shame it didn't go well in London.
love this routine. can't count how many times I've watched it. choreography is unique. great tumbling AND artistry.
I am so happy someone posted this! What a beautiful routine. I'm still so disappointed she did not perform it as well in the event finals
In my opinion this is the most beautiful routine from this olympic games;) hope she can do it great in the floor finals!
I'll never get tired of watching this routine, the choreography is awesome and her balance between elegance and power makes it perfect. I want to see her on the top of the podium -any podium- with this routine, Afanasyeva must be rewarded in some way. I hope she doesn't retire any time soon.
This is a masterpiece...
This was the best coreographed routine of the entire competition. I haven't had seen dancing and artistic elements since a long, long, long time ago. And the music just made it better. Bravo Ksenia !!!
My favorite floor routine so much artistry and excellent choice of music
Wow, I love her choreography and music.
I watch this video again and again and i enjoy the only really artistic routine of all, on olympics.THANK U KSENIA FOR THE "trip".
This was fierce!
I absolutely and completely ADORE this routine my favourite of any gymnast in the whole Gymnastics competition!!!!!
I like how judges from vault turned around to see her perform !
Everyone was watching her!!!, she was actual world champion 2011 before these Olympics
I cant stop watching this masterpiece!
D:5.900 + E:8.933 = 14.833
4th Qualified
Yes, Yes, Yes! This is perfection, Afanasyeva perfection! Absolutely amazing T^T *u*
Indeed! The tumbling was wonderful but also her turns and lines. Lots of ballet training in this girl. Really Lovely!!!
Phenomenal
0:31 the music !!! Wow !!!
I agree...so excellent! I wish this would have been the routine she performed for event finals! Such a beautiful dancer!
Finally, some good choreography! Thank you Afan!
i love how she works this music! great gymnast =)
Amo esta rutina es de las mejores que he visto
It's a little easier to find this music than her last one because the different pieces have actually been used by other gymnasts before...but I don't know their actual names unfortunately. Thank you sooooo much!!!! I love you for uploading that!
My favorite floor routine of the games. Original movements and choice of music. I hope she sticks around for a bit...
Thank you sooooo much!!!!
Artistic gymnastic perfection...she is a dream!!!
Absolutely stunning!
IMO, this was the most beautiful floor routine by far in the Olympics. It's a shame Ksenia couldn't complete it flawlessly when it counted.
It's a song from a argentinian-uruguayan group called Bajofondo
She blew me away at worlds and she just blew me away ten times more. AMAZING routine. AMAZING choreography. AMAZING tumbling...I HOPE she gets that floor gold.
Beautiful, totally gorgeous
Best routine of the last the quad, stunning. Artistic and graceful, what artistic gymnastics is all about
Me encanta esta rutina, es mi favorita de Londres 2012. Me hubiera encantado ver a Ksenia en el podio
Love her music
thank you SO much!!!!!
великолепно!!!

I can't get enough of this routine; so beautiful.
When she hits its the most artistic thing
Hj 16/03/2024 ,e essa rotina continua maravilhosa e inesquecível, linda.
Cannot agree more!)) Beautiful!!!
Mustafina, of course, is an exception to this rule. She combines artistry with consistency like very few have done before her.
Thank you so much :)
Lindo!! Perfect!!
shes definitely one of the best dancers in the world
Does anyone know how I can upload 2012 Olympic videos without being penalized and having the video blocked?
I am also a fan of Aliya. She's a tough cookie. If everyone was like her then they could have won the gold because she's very steady. I was happy she won 4 medals. I like Bross as well and wished that she could have made the team. She can do all events. I like all those gymnast you mentioned. I just have a problem with the stupid fans who are biased from Russia or whatever and give their gymnast credits just because of grace and beauty.
Man... I can't stop watching this. Now I don't know who I want to win, Afan or Izbasa
The longevity in gymnastics is extending aswell. There were quite a few older gymnast competing at the Olympics. Sandra, Catalina, Vanessa, Lauren come to mind. It´s more the case whetever she still wants to continue and I think she wants to for atleast a year or two.
Esta era la rutina que debió ganar... bravoooo Afanasyeva!!!
There is a gymnast from Germany who is like 36 and she still competes wordwide. In fact, she was at the 2011 World Championships and I think she got a bronze medal on vault
And in 2019 she still competes lolol and she might be at 2020 Olympics too
Elegance, beauty, grace, PERFECT routine in my opinion. A shame that she didn't won a medal on floor, that fell on the team finals cause some insecurity on her but, this is absolutely beautiful! :]
Bravo Ksenia!!!
Have anyone noticed the black, fluffy sheep Afanasyeva was holding in EF fx?
2)

YES , THEY HAVE THE SAME CHOREOGRAPHY AND MUSIC !!!!
QUE HERMOSA RUTINA LA DE KSENIA, ME ENCANTA, TODAS LAS RUSAS TIENEN UNA ELEGANCIA Y BELLEZA WUAOOO!!!!
Her hand movements at 1:19 are amazing.
Does anyone know the name of this floor music? i would really like to use something like this...or something similar. Thanks :)
There should be a rule during the draw of lots saying that the top 4 or 5 teams may never share the same subdivision. Oh but there is, did you know simply walking to the corners of the floor area is illegal?
This is a dumb question, but in gymnastics (more specifically, the Olympics) can you do one floor routine in the qualifiers, then a different routine in the team finals, then a different routine in the individuals? Or do you have to do the same routine in all floor exercises in the Olympics?
In a world of Raismans and Wiebers, its nice to see that artistry still exists in the sport of gymnastics.
If she hit a solid routine during the event finals she would've definitely medaled over Mustafina... And I kinda wish she did, this routine is so artistic and original it's just amazing.
THIS is how artistic gymnastics should be! Love it! I hope she will keep competing :)
I LOVE it!!!
I love this routine plus Izbasa and Mustafina...Raisman is all power and not cheorography and dull.
perfect!!!
Her double attitude turn is great i wish mine was that good
Youre right its just so frustrating so see how unappreciative some people are. Ill never understand why its so hard for some people to recognize good gymnastics regardless of the country.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I just saw this in TFs, mesmerizing!!
thx
Thanks!!! :D

Neither did Komova really for her bars and beam.
Thank you. But cant they do a completely different routine?
It's a point deduction with the fall, so she would have at least tied Raisman, or scored higher.
Is Yao jinan good? And will grishina perform more and has komov retired?
This is GOLD, if she doesnt fail the last landing on tuesday the gold Medal is HERs. such an agressive but elegant Gymnastic
love it

I really like her routine floor, the most gracious of the Olympics IMO.
Очень красивые вольные!
If Aly nails her routine she will win gold and it will be because she was smart enough to raise her start value and worked hard to perfect it.
