Thanks
The realist video on studying!
💖💖🙏🙏
studying with friends is soo helpful. either they will explain it to me in a funny way i'll remember, or i explain to them in my own words, also helping remember
Yeah agreed 🤞
But listen...i have some classmates but if i do good in viva after they helped me...
But in next xm they don't help me
What should i do
@@AllahLoveyou-qn2xr real friends will help you imo - in some cases they may be falling really behind and you should help them - it’s a balance
@@anthony.zhang_ no they are not falling behind...i am not good enough
This is actually THE ULTIMATE GUIDE for studying tips
Appreciate this!
I've watched quite a number of study advice vids at this point, and I appreciate yours the most. I wish more people could talk as straightforwardly as you do.
Thank you :) I’ll keep it that way
yes exactly!!!
This is genuinely one of the most accurate and effective summary/advice on having a life changing system for learning. THANK YOU!!!
Appreciate it man glad you found it useful :)
Always remember, your patients don’t care if your top 1%, be a compassionate doctor, there is no percentile that can make you connect with another human!
Be humble and don’t get lost in numbers!
Bless you in your journey
Of course - thank you
Thanks man, that was totally helpful. I would also like to add meditation every morning / writing reflective thoughts. Since my undergrad I would regularly do it everyday. I am also pursuing my medschool applications rn, hopefully I could start this year.🎉
I APPRECIATED EVERY WORD OF WHAT YOU SHARED. GOING TO SHARE WITH MY NEPHEWS AND NEICES….AND ANYONE IN GRAD SCHOOL….OR MEDICAL SCHOOL
Fantastic tips, just the push I needed to put my ego aside and start doing past papers regardless of how often I get the questions wrong. Thank you SO MUCH!!
Your welcome! I know that feeling haha
This was a stupidly simple video. One of the best elaboration of tips so far. Thanks man. Praying for your future studies and growth!
Thank you! K.I.S.S is my life motto
Stupidly simple, stupidly efficient.
With these tips, success is a matter of time and constant effort.

Super awesome video. Reinforced a lot of best practices I've experienced and also helped me gain some useful perspective as I start the next phase of my studies
Thanks Anthony this was really encouraging!

He fails to mention the last of the S's. It's actually, studies, sports, social, and sleep. You can have all three of the first S's, you just have to sacrifice sleep.
in my opinion - nope you don’t have to sacrifice it.
Dude mentioned importance of sleep at the end😂 of the
These are his tips not yours 😊
Sacrificing sleep is a nono…. If we are getting little sleep after studying , chances are we won’t store the studied information properly. Our brains need rest to properly store learned info
U failed to watch the video it seems
I honestly just want to do better in studies and the rest I want to rest and having time to enjoy my hobbies~
Thanks for the video, you made it sound like it's achievable❤good luckkk!!!
Glad I got that message across :)

I'm in my last year of nursing school and I'm watching this. This helps. thank youuu

I'm a 2nd semester med student, and I was looking for more effective methods to save time in my schedule. I realized that I made the mistake of going deep into material instead of looking at the bigger picture. I'll use your advice well to have an academic CB! Thank you I loved your video!!
ahh I'm a 2nd trimester med student as well and struggle a lot with time management, so That was actually my favourite tip throughout the video. made me realise my perfectionism and urge to dive deep into the topic from the get-go was the one thing that took most of my time.
I BOOKMARKED this video, thank you for the helpful study tips Anthony! viewing from the Philippines on my study table :) 💖
I’m glad :)

thank you Anthony...this means a lot
glad it helped!
Great tips thanks i need this trying to get into medical school
You got it
I tried to follow the popular study methods and ended up focusing on devising those methods rather than actually focus on the information. For me, reading it at my own pace and taking the time to understand it by re reading, going back and forth, and finally connecting the dots is what helps me learn, and this takes a longer time than others but it’s what works for me. Rather than trying to cram 273773 study methods into one session, I think I prefer to take it slow and steady, because that’s what drills it into my brain. Along with that, using various resources for review like online quizzes, questions banks or TH-cam videos also helps me a lot in reinforcing what I already know. I think it’s better to work on what’s worked FOR YOU in the past vs what everyone else is raving about. I used a lot of study methods incorrectly, perhaps, and it didn’t work out. So now I’m just going to stick with taking it one thing at a time.
Whatever works for you :)
@@anthony.zhang_ thank you for your reply! Amazing video and it helps me a lot.
Really helpful 👌
Glad it helped
nah this is the way to go. you know a lot
appreciate that bro 👊
Top content as per 👏
😘😘
I think the most important thing about learning how to study best, is like you said, "think for yourself". I personally do things to study that others find counterintuitive and don't like, but work really well for me.
Yes love that - don’t just follow the crowd, listen but then use what is useful for you :)
This hits hard
In a good way?
You weren't ranting bro. It was really helpful❤.
I appreciate that!
Glad you are going to boost our nhs. My uncle burnt out in nhs and moved over to NewYork and retrained for orthopedic surgeon. Earning over $600k now. Impossible in UK
The ranting was very useful! Couldn’t agree more with the point on *actually* sleeping.
hahah will continue ranting thanks for helping me decide
I’m on my first year Radiology residency and you remind me of my younger self. Keep grinding doctor!💪
Thanks man
Thoughts on radiology?
I’m in the top 10% of my med school class. What I’ve found is hard work only gets one so far, I’m simply just not smart enough to move up any higher. There are levels to this. The advice is sold though 👍
Thanks, great video! Could you please make some videos of how you answer different types of questions, different subjects that would be awesome....do you use highlighting/striking out feature, how do you start, thinking process, etc? Many thanks again!
Yes I will in the future! Start by “scoping out the subject” - I.e. getting a broad, Birds Eye view of things and start wide and zoom in
@@anthony.zhang_ Thanks for these pointers....if you do take exams on the computer, would be great to see how you it step by step. Thank you again!
Hi,
Ranting or not, I think you've provided value for us. I appreciate it
Thank you, Anthony
no problem, appreciate you!
Can you make a video going into more details on how you process the information?
E.g. with a list of recorded lectures and readings of articles & textbook, which one do you go through first, and how do you go through?
Do you first gloss over and pick up the main words, and then read into each section?
What do you do to make the information stick?
Try and categorise things first into headings/subheadings (“scoping the subject”) by skim reading - then I’ll read it in some more detail and turn into flashcards. Flashcards and question banks is what makes the information stick - reading information is for understanding initially.
such a well made video
thank you!
Thank you!
glad it helped!
I love the KISS method just like the french technique.
french technique?
This should be legit.
I knew it's always solving problem sets that that works out for me the most. When it comes to memorization, flashcards are my best friend. What I did wrong this semester is I was too lazy that I ended up studying 2-3 hours before exams. But I can guarantee every one that question banks and flashcards are the most helpful for studies.
it works for me!
Hiii that was awesome thank you❤
You're welcome 😊
Im in premed and i really needed this video. Will be having my final exams in june
glad you found it useful!
Hey Anthony, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also highly engaging thumbnails which will help your video to reach to a wider audience .
Thx a lot ❤️

Hello, I am a medical student in another country. Thank you for sharing this useful information with me.
Your welcome!
I feel like having stable emotion is also important while studying..
100%. Stress management is important for sustainability’s

Teachers need to tell their students that asking questions and answering them is better than re-writing what you’ve already read 😂😂

I love your video. It’s one of the best studying tip videos I lately watched! 😊 But I always ask myself, if you start a new topic by reading the chapter in the book and then do questions. Because it sounds as if no one wants to read the chapter or study the lecture. As if doing questions is the only type of studying, that brings you forward. What’s your advice? 🙈
Thank you! No reading something for the first time is great! What I mean by taking no notes, is don’t rewrite stuff that’s already out there. But, also just doing questions straight away is an option, it also depends on how difficult the topic is whether reading to understand is useful
@@anthony.zhang_Thank you so much! I‘m in second year in medical school and have a big exam coming soon. Your video gave me my motivation back 🫶🏻
goaaaat advice!
thank you
YOU WERE NEVER RANTING AT ALL🥰(People with British Accents never sound RANTING to me😂). APPRECIATE VERY MUCH THE CONTENT OF YOUR VIDEO!!!😍🎉🎉🎉
thank you!
This is really good ohh. I am a Medical student. Gonna apply not taking notes
Thank you 🙏
Dedication and discipline from a young age will get you there.
100%.
I went to Southampton in 1977, worked on the Bank Holiday market.
Wow 🤩
watching this during a lecture
Haha love that
Hi, thank you for all the wonderful info. Im currently in high school but I plan to go to med school and i was wondering how you find question banks for highschool classes like ap biology, ap environmental science , etc. Thank you so much
hmm I’m not so familiar with that as I’m from the UK, we did GCSEs and a-levels but I’m sure there many resources - google and yt are all you need look around you’ll find stuff :)
I like the rants tho, like it just feels like a rich conversation rather than a factual lecture from a professor about a random study technique ill never use.
appreciate that!
I am starting Grad Med next year (recent offer woop), this all sounds great. What’s your take on learning anatomy? Still just lots of question banks or some more passive learning here e.g. drawing in depth diagrams? Cheers
Yep for me still active methods with questions after understanding - good websites like teachmeanatomy and kenhub
Hi Anthony, really appreciated for your valuable advises. Im a first year med student and I failed the cell biology test because I did not have an appropriate learning method. Thanks to this, I could retake it with better result now. But also I got headache when studying too focused, have you had the same situation? do you have any advises to avoid this?
For appropriate learning methods - question banks including quesmed are your bestfriend (check out my link in the description :) + for the headaches make sure to take breaks from screens and exercise or go for a walk.
thanks brother
glad you enjoyed bro
It was actually very interesting
Glad you found it interesting
Thank you
God bless you. :)
thank you this was very helpful. i wanted to ask what if 1 hour a day is not enough? i struggle at remembering a lot of basics in medicine because i used to study last year the wrong way. when do i know when to stop and when to push my limits? i am aiming for top 1 and do better in general
Depends on how consistent you are with it - 1hr a day of solid studying is viable only if you are consistent and studying the right way. With 2 hrs a day and good study techniques you will have do great :) can ramp it up 6 weeks from exams and create a retrospective revision timetable and you will SMASH your exam
same family name bro ~ excellent recommendations
Thanks bro haha
studying one hour a day in med school, I can't wrap my head around that concept. With the course loads of second year and third. Some of us are spending 6 to 8 hours in the library almost on a daily basis, just to stay ahead of the lecturer.
I’m more referring to clinical placement years when I say one hour a day
Thanks for the video,
In terms of the weak area list, how do you go about this? Do you just look at the review button on passmed and see the topic titles?
I personally find when I flag questions on passmed I never ACTUALLY go back and look at them. I make a page on notion and for then make separate pages for each specialty and write down the type of qs I get wrong (e.g. ECGs)
Having my neuro exam in 3 days wish me good luck
why am i seeing this now, with finals around the corner?
Me watching this when I have a para and micro exam after 2 days and have 20 lectures that I haven't studied or even opened yet 🤓
i believe in you bro
Quick Question!- Im in my last year of highschool and i want to get as close to a 100% to get into medicine. DO these tips apply, like should i focus on breadth over depth. Also my current strat is making anki flash cards on every single syllabus point and i feel like its taking forever to memorise things and im studying way too long idk ig i need some clarity. Cos im trying to memorise every single dot point but this is only for two of my content heavy subjects. amazing video tysm.
Hi yeah I recommend focusing on breadth over depth FIRST, and then zoom in to the details - it’s a lot less stressful. Also I used to make WAY TOO MANY anki flashcards too - try and make less of them but more high yield, because it’s too easy to make cards that realistically you already know and are just wasting your time by making them.
@@anthony.zhang_ wow, thank you for taking time for the response ik your a busy person. For my flash cards currently im screen shotting the summary notes and using IMAGE OCCULUSION, tool. Though i might start putting question banks into my cards instead to make it more high yield. Or i might just make questions on notes. Can yo make a video on how you studied to get into med school. Like the moment you read info for the first time the steps you take to memorise it.
This all great content. Although I am an engineering student. I’m having trouble finding a good platform to study calc 2. Does anyone know a good platform to quiz myself?
What is the best way to study for shelf exams?
His accent so good...
Thank you 🙏
I dont know about that part that you said stop taking notes. Writing down information can be very useful for recall
Personally it doesn’t really work for me. But whatever works for you, stick with it!
Repeatedly seeing students rave about those question banks, it seems we'll now have many doctors who have never read a textbook. If they acquire the same information, so be it.
Use triple RRR read revise repeat
Nice video man! do u actually only study 1 hour a day in medical school and get by well??
Yep most of the year then I ramp it up close to exams
Hey Anthony, what if I don’t have question banks provided by the professor or by my upperclassmen? I have sided with ChatGPT to make questions from my ppts. I feel I am doing good but I won’t know until my next exam lol
What are your thoughts on using AI to make questions for me? (Making them myself is very time consuming)
I agree in utilising AI, I've seen a couple different softwares that can make flashcards directly from lectures that seem interesting
Any tips for current year12s ? What did you personally do?
Releasing a video today :) stay tuned.
the fact that I do ALL these in med school already and still don't rank at the top😂🙃 I must be stupid atp
Hahah no no stick with it for a while
