- Welcome to Aberfeldy MTB trails. I knew nothing of the mountain biking scene in Aberfeldy and boy is it going to be the place to be over the next few years if you are in to MTB!
Aberfeldy itself is a pretty, lively town in Highland Perthshire.
The town is situated on Scotland's longest river, the River Tay, and is home to The Birks of Aberfeldy. The town is also home to Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery which is open throughout the year. The surrounding hills contain a wealth of trails. In this MTB vlog we rode three of the finest trails on offer.
If you are new to my videos then expect to see high quality riding vlogs shot in the same style as McTrail Rider, Paul the Punter and BKXC. I will try to travel to the best riding locations in Scotland and further afield to find you the best mtb trails.
The video was shot on a GoPro Hero 7 mounted on the chin of a Met Parachute helmet using a Gnartec mount.

Insane mate, heading up to dunkeld for a week in summer and just too many places to ride: the 4 in dunkeld, pitlochry, ballo, pitmedden, heartbreak ridge and now this spot 😂

I live in Aberfeldy, glad to see people out enjoying the trails! Glassie is really going up the world! Maybe in a few years it will be a destination for lots of riders!

What a place, haven't seen trails like that for some time! You were absolutely flying considering you didn't know what was going to be around every corner or rise too!
Thanks mate. As soon as I saw these trails I knew I had to get there. Cheers for the riding hype as well. It's difficult to feel fast when you are out with really fast folks. Pleased with my riding though 🥰

That's amazing! We were there yesterday! It's a great place! Although we did a big rookie mistake. We travelled up the path from Weem Forst Car Park and it was BRUTAL! We need to go up past the bunkhouse next time, because we missed the drop! And we were then too pooped to look for it. Defo need to go back. This place is gonna be epic!

Awesome edit buddy...... needs more death metal 🤣🤣🤔😱. Only kidding. You captured the day well . Tell you what .... you're pretty fast riding blind. The drop on the end of first section of "top of the world" is pretty long and high ..... but you hit it no problem because it just comes out of nowhere. Then all the smaller stuff that you see in time to create indecision you ended up rolling ..... Confidence dude , confidence!! You got the skills , you got the speed believe in yerself you got it !!!

Good on ye for doing that drop - yer braver than I ever will be! Great looking trails. I'm in Aberfeldy in a couple of weeks to visit friends. Was going to do Dunkeld and Comrie but these definitely look worth a look. I noticed on another video a trail called "Top of the World" that you seem to do as well. Is it easy enough to find?
It is fairly easy to find although I don't think it is on Trailforks. Are you on Strava? Feel free to download my route or use the map to find it 👍

Trails look class! Wee flashback; I stayed at the Bunkhouse a good few years ago for a mates stag weekend consisting of beers, poker and white water rafting. Had there been strippers, it would've been just like Las Vegas 🤣

Any details on Where's best to park and get to these trails, I work along in Grandtully and just about to get another bike after being off one for like 10 years so cool to know there's some real good stuff close to work
That's awesome. If you go on Trailforks there are a couple of places marked that you can park 👍

Difficult to say mate. I think everywhere is tough to ride at the moment though. On the plus side, it's good for the skills development! 😁

We are. I reckon you should go still. I rode the Golfie yesterday and it rained the whole time we were on the bikes 🤦♂️ It was still LOADS of fun!
Hey Jamie. I’m in Aberfeldy and wondered where you parked to do the trails? I parked at the Weem car park last time but not sure if that’s the best start point. Cheers mate.
If you check my Strava out it should give you a good location. We parked at the coffee shop and asked the owner if he was cool with it providing we ate some nice pastries when we returned 👍
@@streetpigeonmtb I ended up parking in the wee lay-by just out front of the Ailean Chraggan hotel. Happened to bump into some of the trail builders and ride Shreddo and Top of the World with them. 🥵
Brilliant! I met Ray who guided us and he was so nice. Happy to tour us around. It's some place isn't it. What did you think of the trails?
@@streetpigeonmtb Yeah he made an appearance with his son for a blast down Shreddo. I did Top of the World with Euan and another lad who’s name escapes me. Trails are good and look forward to the blue opening for my 7year old girl to get familiar with. Shreddo and Top of the World best in my opinion. Older trails could do with some work. I’d love to attempt the gaps on that Reducto 🤔😬
