Bajaj's were thrived on Licence Raj in post independence India. They monopolized the industries. Sr. Bajaj's rant against present establishment is clearly his frustration of Congress going out of power. Inefficient engineering machines like Bajaj Scooters sold in millions because there were no competition to them. They killed competition due to proximity to Nehruvian establishment. As soon as other good option in market came we never brought those old inefficient machines. Bajaj was forced to innovate only after they faced tough competitive markets post liberalisation.

Thank you Abhijit for your research and perspective on the History of the Parsi community.
When you started reading the letter even I laughed at the ridiculousness of the question! Especially when the lady's surname is Gandhi/ Gandhy.
It's a pity though to see the comment section taking an opportunity to misconstrue your content, generalize and spew negativity towards the whole community.
"That were favoured by the British for no fault of theirs" (in your words). Historically the community had promised the King Jadi Rana while seeking refuge, that they would not convert anyone into the Zoroastrian Faith and serve the ruler, who so ever it may be loyally (among a few other rules that have been adhered to).
I am a Parsi Indian. It's my community, just like someone is a Marwadi etc. Community is something you identify with in terms of customs tradition language and in this instance Faith.
Of course there may be ignorant, small minded idiots that are Parsi, just like there are in ANY community, so its unfair to give a general label based on one's personal interaction with the said black sheep.
Having said that, the current generation of TH-cam students seem to want to take the History lesson as an opportunity for "pay back". (I am referencing all History worldwide not just this particular topic relating to Indian History).
We can't change the past, we can certainly learn from it and ensure we have a better future.
The Parsi's have always acknowledged and been grateful for the refuge given to us, we adopted so many Hindu traditions and 1200 years later we are proud, loyal INDIANs that have live peacefully with Hindu Muslim Christian Jew..everybody!
It's unfair to demonize us because SOME got rich and we're favored by the Btitish, or because we were graciously given refuge by the King, or because we are not Hindu.
Abhijit made his point in his response, perspectives may differ to the facts.
Guys use your brains, do your own research, collect data and then come to your OWN conclusion .
Please try not to be too judgemental and possibly interact with the community if you have'nt .We are dwindling in numbers, and there is much to learn from everyone.
    Knowledge is power.
We are One. Peace and love.

Hindus are the son of this soil. Today they r divided in Jain, Buddhist, Sikh and Sanatani. They r persecuted longer than any other community on this planet. I am from South Mumbai and know Parsis very well. Have two Parsi friends too. Your understanding of Abhijits comment is wrong here. Many Hindus, Muslims all served British to gain advantage so he is not targeting single community. He is just stating facts. It is fact that Parsi's have been living in India for more than 1000 years and mixed as they promised. In fact out of India migrants at some point in ancient past ( yet to be proven with DNA study). what you think as payback is actually realization of fight to save this civilization which allowed refuge to you guys. You may be still sickular bt many hindus no longer want to be one and will not allow missionaries or Islamic radicala to rule agn. India is only secular till Hindus r in majority. After 1000 yrs you have forgotten atrocities of islamic invasion to persia. I would suggest to stick to facts instead being sickular. Islam cannot co-exist with any other religion. Accept the historic facts as they were. Parsis were only progressive community in 1947 and prior and for a reason stated above. Past cannot b changed bt we shd not repeat our mistakes from past by knowing it well

Fact is that majority of humans like being given someone or something to deify. I have noticed this in all walks of life. No great enterprise is accomplished successfully without group effort and yet, the leader gets all the credit. Thanks to the internet, decentralisation is setting in and people are encouraged to think for themselves. The Parsi community, as great as it is, is NOT the be all and end all of entrepreneurship. Show me someone who, without inherited wealth, has built an empire and I'll show you someone to emulate and admire. That's it. Wishing all every success in life. Jai Bharat! 💪🙏🕉

Chavdas are Kshatriya, from the ancient western India, when the present day states of Gujarat and Rajasthan, were not separated. For example, Mularaja Solanki I, was a Suryavanshi Rajput ruling over Gujarat . His Queen Consort was Naikidevi, a Chalukya princess from Goa, who took over the empire post his early demise. Her massive victory in the battle of Gadarghatta, deterred any raider in the future from entering India via the route of the fierce Rani’s empire so they took the longer one through Rajasthan. If Sir Abhijit Chavda is teleported back to 1100 A.D. and his GPS location is traced, then his clan might as well be located in what is today’s Ahmedabad or, Jaipur, who knows?

I agree that preferential treatment is what distinguishes a lot of times and helps a group to grow enormously
But which community who is sitting at the top now didn't got the preference?
Chitpavans did nepotism in maratha Empire
Marathas, Jats and other land owner castes got huge swathes of land just because of their caste
Rajputs got preference and land because of marital relations between them and Mughals
Brahmins in India in various regions were give huge land holdings either as dan or because they got into power and didn't had to pay taxes
Khatris, lohanas and many other business communities were also exempted to pay taxes
Bengali brahmins used to get many villages which is very well mentioned in their own origin stories
So how come these communities are getting overlooked when they too literally got free benefits from the authorities and it is a big reason that they are powerful today?

The answer was "Indians are very selfish hence easy to divide, they are also timid and hence are very subservient".

And the second half was wrong right off the mouth. A good soldier has always been _expected to be subordinate_ to their commanders, since the dawn of humanity. This does not come from their "timidity", but from their martial discipline.

My 2 points with respect to the topics discussed in this video:
    1) The stooges of Brits (and perhaps of Mughals earlier) were allotted lands, which were called as "Namak haram jaagir" (property obtained by selling one's conscience and other things associated with conscience)
    2) In military, there are ample cases of differential treatment. Not just between General and a subordinate officer, but more so between commissioned officers and non-commissioned soldiers. Do you know that if a soldier loses, even, both of his legs on the battlefield he will get 10% of what an officer will get if he gets his finger cut? In previous governments era, the military establishments have literally treated soldiers as their "jaagir". And you would think that current govt is graceful? Better yes, graceful not even in dreams. OROP is still not implemented in the real spirit it was supppsed to be. Fail to understand why such colonial and differential treatment, when we are removing everything that reminds us of colonial era?

Well that's a very systematic lie. Only pyushsamitra sunga destroyed few monasteries because the indo Greeks used to house in the monasteries as they were leaned towards bhuddism, and during reign of last maurayan emperor brihadratha the entire Kingdom was breaking apart, Greeks and bhuddists were favoured more and the king was incompetent. So to save Bharat and to uphold what chandra gupta maurya has established, pyushsamitra sunga Assassinated brihadratha to establish order. And he defeated the Greeks and literally pushed them away from the mainlands of India . Now in this process there was some collateral damage of bhuddists monasteries as i said earlier the Greeks were leaned towards bhuddism a d used the monasteries as hiding posts.
But after 100 years of pyushsamitra sunga Ashokvanda was written and it's only text which claims that shungas persecuted the bhuddists, which is debunked and it's not àn accurate record of the historical facts.
What had happened is that pyushsamitra sunga didn't patronized any religion wether it be Vedic dharma or bhaud Dharm, this angered the bhuddists and they started to spew hate towards pyushsamitra sunga. Also the sachi stupa was destroyed by some fanatical Brahmins in the reign of pyushsamitra sunga, but he himself repaired the stupa and gave punishment to those Brahmins. Thus it's very wrong to say that pyushsamitra sunga actually persecuted bhuddists, because we find only one book the Ashokvanda which claims that.
