Everybody would have thought of TATAs' contribution to India and believed that Parsis had always helped India grow.
Yes, TATAs played important role in India's growth but remember it only started from Jamshedji Tata.
And Jamshedji was also like any other businessman until he met Swami Vivekananda. It is Swamiji who inspired him to do something for the society and it started with the IISc in Bengaluru.

Tata still funds elite leftist anti-Hindu educational institutions and thinktanks like TISS. Parsi industrialists still contribute millions to colonialist/neocolonialist institutions like Oxford to fund their sociopolitical and cultural agendas in the "commonwealth". A few good Parsi individuals are just bait for Hindu normies, at community and liturgical level they are still extremely insular and supremacist towards the native Indian and our religion/traditions.

@@beonmouth5821 I hate the hereditary caste system and I do not condone the hereditary caste system, but the hereditary caste system has no basis whatsoever in the Vedic scriptures. In fact, the hereditary caste system is actually CONTRARY to what the Vedic scriptures teach. Caste was never originally hereditary, it was originally only an organisation and categorisation of society based on occupation and what occupation you had was, in those ancient times, determined by whatever your predominant guna was ('guna' is a Sanskrit word that means something like 'mode' or 'tendency' in English). This is confirmed by Lord Krishna (who is considered to be God Himself in a human form by many Hindus) when He says in the Bhagavad Gita:
“According to the three gunas and the work ascribed to them, the four divisions of human society were created by Me. And, although I am the creator of this system, you should know that I am yet the non-doer, being unchangeable.”
Also, all of the four castes were equally necessary for Vedic Civilisation to function properly. Kshatriyas are the arms, Brahmins are the head, Vaishyas are the stomach and Shudras are the feet. This is what the Vedic scriptures declare and the message is that a person needs a head, arms, a stomach and feet to properly function and that, in a similar way, society equally needs Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras to properly function.
Also, the Vedic scriptures declared for the first time anywhere in the world thousands of years ago "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (which in Sanskrit means "The world is one family"). Furthermore, Lord Krishna also states in the Bhagavad Gita in Chapter 5, Verse 18: "The learned, with the eyes of divine knowledge, see with equal vision a priest, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater."
Also, the Vedic scriptures were the first scriptures in the world to declare thousands of years ago the fundamental oneness of all living things, for example the Katha Upanishad says: "As the same fire assumes different shapes when it consumes objects differing in shape, so does the one Self take the shape of every creature in whom He is present."

Oxford is the one who has formulated the vaccine and Serum has partnered to manufacture the vaccine. Plus vaccines were not only sold in India by Serum but to many other countries. Do you even know why the donation was made?!?!, and if not then atleast bother yourself to find out what the intent was before trying to defame or show someone in wrong light.
Probably the money was donated to Oxford for being able to conduct more research and come up with many formulas for vaccines for treating illnesses and if so, then what is wrong in donating to an institution that they partnered with for fighting a global pandemic ?!?!
INFACT it should be a matter of pride that someone from India is donating money to bolster R&D for finding cures for humanity.

They were the blue eyed boys of the British empire, in return for which they were gifted the island of Colaba as a gift. It was much after when the British had no more use for them they clubbed Parsis into the group of Indians and dogs. That second part is rubbish. After the opium trade was over the Parsis became even bigger. Until 1850s they couldn't hold any official positions like lawyers and commissioners. But in 1875 Sir Pherozeshah Mehta became the second municipal commissioner of Bombay, after Arthur Crawford. Today even in independent India an Indian citizen of Bombay cannot become commissioner unless he is Marathi (with rare exceptions). So yeah, don't try to teach right and wrong, or lie about history. Dadabhai Naoroji became a member of British parliament. How is that "dogs" if he had such a big right? To become a British MP? They fought for independence because they loved our country. I have recently discovered this interesting theory regarding the Parsis visiting India to save themselves from the persecution faced from the caliphate. The possibility of Parsis visiting India could be due to the relationship between Chalukyas of Badami and Sassanian empire of Persia where it has been found that they had embassies established in each others country. In the Ajanta cave, a painting of Immadi pulikeshi's court has been potrayed where we can observe a parsi look alike visiting the king. The theory is that he had visited the court for asking assistance to fight the caliphate and Immadi pulikeshi did indeed sent his general to assist them in the war. Later when Vinayaditya came into the power he was sent Treasuries by a persian king again asking for assistance to fight the caliphate. During this time we observe the commencement of Parsis to India. The Parsis might have already knew what India was and they might have expected the Chalukyas to take them as refuges as they had a pretty stable and ongoing relationship. The Chalukyas until they were sacked by the Rashtrakutas had significant influence over Dakshinapatha especially below the river Narmada till Kaveri.

As a Parsi, I would generally agree with the history of our community as described in this video.
It is true that the Parsis benefited immensely from the British and they were instrumental in bringing wealth, prosperity and social status to our small minority community.
It may also be true that Parsis needn't be considered as an exceptional or a model minority that needs to be emulated.
However, I disagree with the generalization that the prosperity of the community was solely on account of the British.
Parsis of the last 2 centuries were, largely, self made entrepreneurs and professionals, who seized the opportunity when it presented itself and made the most of it to improve their status in society. The British provided the necessary spring board, but subsequently, it was the hard work and enterprise of the community that got it to where it is today.
No amount of largesse can elevate the status of a polity who is not willing to work hard to enrich themselves.
The Parsis started of as brokers to the British and later became successful traders with China in the opium trade. Profits from their trading activities was then ploughed into industry and subsequently philanthropy. They didn't sit back and enjoy things on a platter. Neither did they demand special treatment on account of their minority status.
Instead, with their hard work and sagacity they built lasting businesses and institutions that went a long way in bringing India to the industrial age where it could stand on its own and be counted amongst the league of nations.
It was the Parsis willingness to move with the times, adopt or otherwise adapt their culture and living habits to the prevalent times, that in a significant way lead to their being favored by the ruling dispensation. However, the Parsis gave back manyfold what they earned from their adopted homeland and most importantly made their wealth by honest enterprise and not by bribing, stealing or being morally corrupt. If there is a lesson to be learnt from the history of Parsis in India, it would be that, honest, hard working enterprise with a view to eventually giving back to the community from which you received so much is the surest way to prosper and earn the respect of others who cohabitate with you.

Exactly, no amount of reservation or special privileges can uplift a community if they themselves not ready to catch them with both hands. Parsis were extremely entrepreneurs like most of marwari, Sindhi and Gujrati. And yes they do get favour from British because of being minority which British thought them as more loyal then the locals because of being indegineous to the land. This should be taken as a history lessons not as a hate towards certain community. We love Parsis. 🙏

The same applies to upper cast Hindus and Brahmins, many of us treated Britishers as owners of this nation. Traitors are present in every society. History is not as black and white it's grey. But I have immense respect for Parsi community, I think Mohammad Ali Jinnah was also parsi (his mother) and his wife is also parsi, his daughter married to Parsi (ness wadia). I think it was all planned by Britishers to partition of India with the help of half Parsi half Muslim Jinnah.

I've seen many parsis who are either sick, diseased or twisted in some form or another.. yea I do have parsi friends but I dont get a welcoming vibe from them.. most also align with muslims at every stage even if they know they are wrong.. do you know that the 1st ever riots in Mumbai were between parsis and muslims? .. We celebrate the “Bali Yatra” in Odisha to celebrate and welcome the kalinga traders . In fact some of the names of the islands are actually Odia names “ Mala dwipa” loosely translated to “Maldives “. The very same reason lot of Mauritius people have names with “Jagganth”.

@@hkm2369 I am an Odia and yes this is all true... also forgive him lol, we all know that Odia, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati blah blah blah all came from SANSKRIT only... its just that... other than this point, rest of the things he said are true 100%
Mala Dwip and Mauritius did have ODIA ANCESTRY, even SRI LANKA, thats where we are taking the credit... (and we need to rightfully, Odias worked to develop and spread Indian culture in South East Asia as well, being the first, but Tamil people who are TOO VOCAL and sometimes toxic, although not all are toxic, but this small minority of Tamils who are on the brink of wanting Tamil Nadu to separate from India, always want to keep credit for that)
in order to not let the Tamils keep credit for this as well, we are saying it just in case.. also Myanmar aka Burma was once known as Kalingarat
also Funan empire in Cambodia, Angkor Wat and stuff... Bali in Indonesia obviously, sometimes in Vietnam (Although the Telugu Pallava dynasty had more relations to Vietnam after us), and Phillipines too (one city there is called Kalinga) also KELING is used to refer to Indians there in entire SE asia (Although now they use it as a CURSE WORD thanks to rapid Islamization and Christianization of those communities, or for Buddhist Cambodia its Chinese dominance in politics to keep the country of Cambodia into the hands of just 1 party run by family, well similar to Congress party's tactics here, and then use them as puppets)
Mala Dwipa (spelled with that Odia accent) is indeed kinda SPREADED by as a NAME by Kalinga, thats the credit, otherwise lol for every Indian language you will comment "what about Sanskrit"
man atleast we are NOT like those extremist people brainwashed by "dravidian centric" parties which have destroyed even a chance to revive Sanskrit there, especially in Tamil Nadu...
Odia language and any other language, of not only India but the entire world, came from Sanskrit, we as ODIAS accept this fact.. its just that the guy might have written it because he wanted credit be given to Kalinga for naming the place like that
otherwise every state has such Sanskrit words, doesnt mean that those states should not claim their roles in keeping the names of certain places in their languages... thats where you are kinda wrong
also all kingdoms of India, nonetheless which language which they spoke, still PROMOTED Sanskrit (Even Cholas did it, gonna give credit to them for that as well)
dont take it in another tangent, we all know Sanskrit came first... its pretty obvious... we are using MODERN DAY LANGUAGES (since past 5000 or so years to recently in past 100) where modern languages of India had developed, and hence claiming credit via that
otherwise long ago, Sanskrit would have been the only language... then does it make sense to remove credit of all the states and say "only sanskrit did that" ???
no right, coz it causes confusion of WHICH PART of India did it... so thats the angle... otherwise as I have repeated 10 times already
WE KNOW, that ODIA and every other INDIAN language, CAME FROM SANSKRIT only... obviously all our words will be from Sanskrit or sound similar... even Hindi isnt proper Sanskrit... Sanskrit is totally something else... its the mother of all langauges...
I think you didnt know perhaps that "Mala Dwip" (pronounced as "Mala Dwipa" with those "ou" or "aw" Odia retroflex sounds) can exist in Odia too... for obvious reasons... next day can we call Maharashtra to be a name from SANSKRIT and not Marathi? no right? or call PUNJAB as a SANSKRIT word and not a Punjabi one... no right? it will cause confusion...
I know Maharashtra and Punjab or any thing/word is FROM SANSKRIT, but gotta give the NAME to the place of what THE PEOPLE call the land as... even Oda Desha means Odisha (Oda being the clan/community of Ancient Odias and Desha meaning, Desh, aka Country/Kingdom/State/Province, Terrirtory being more appropriate in this context)
yes exactly thats the logic of what I am talking about...

Anglo-Saxons and other Westerners are the reason that South Asians face discrimination worldwide. They ruined our image by portraying us as animal f*ckers, street sh*tters, unhygienic (India needs to work on hygiene, I admit, but man often it is over exaggerated), savages, r*pists, etc. West butchered our reputation. Of course, in the present scenario, there can be nothing against the Parsis in India. It is hard not to jump at the opportunity to create wealth when the entire community had been displaced from their original homeland. Even though magnanimity was shown by the Indian king to allow them to settle here in India, it could never be the same being away from their original place. Given similar opportunities, surely a whole lot of indigenous communities would have done the same and must have done so. When there had been snakes like Raja Ram Mohan Roy _(and multiple others)_ amidst our own, it is hard to point fingers at others. One valid complaint against them maybe, being truly a minority _(and being a wealthy one at that)'_ they can do a lot to thwart the false narrative being peddled by the *second-largest majority* in the guise of being a "minority" of intolerance by the majority community and so on.
I know it must have been hard being under foreign occupation, but it can not be ignored that we did a poor job of recording our history. If I am mistaken, then we must have seriously failed at the battle of narratives. I mean, for instance, the Jewish community has suffered a lot and had been a downtrodden community for decades. But, they did not fail to keep the world reminded of the atrocities committed against them. Initially, when one delves into world history, it would appear as if they are the only group of people who have suffered inhumane treatment at the hands of others and no one else. Of course, the factors around them can not be exactly equated with that of the Hindus, still, it begs to wonder as to why we still lag behind in the battle of narratives.

Then again, which social sciences institution _(or arts stream)_ is not? _(rhetorical)_ - When the entire course is designed and structured by leftists, that is an inevitable result. Either knowingly or unknowingly, that is what is being implemented across the board.
Definitely, there must be a whole lot of them who continued their association with their colonial masters. When our country's constitution, education and law framework are prime symbols of colonial continuity, then there must have been continuation of other aspects at various levels.
And as for them being insular and supremacists, that's news for me. If that is true then one of the factors could be rooted in their seemingly antithetical religion to _Sanatan Dharma_ and dualistic approach (of good and evil) which is more akin to Abrahamic religions. If they are strongly identified with their religious ideologies, then there is definite scope for conflict with others who don't subscribe to their views. Sure.

Parsis may have got unjust enrichment through the British but they never forgot where their loyalty lies. My personal opinion is that they gave back to Indian society so much more than they actually took.

Well, Parsis were not the only refugees/immigrants who were "magnanimously" allowed to settle in India. There Jews in Cochin and elsewhere. Any number of tribes from Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa etc have immigrated into India. All of them have made unique contributions to the development of India's culture, economy etc. As for Parsis, just two Surnames are enough indicators --- Manekshaw and Tata. I am only stating the obvious.

Hindus are too generous. This nature is making them suffer. It is very painful. Thanks for sharing this. Parsis are peaceful people. But the problem is hindus think that parsis are superior. All outsiders are superior we are totally hopeless. This is how indians think. Who built angokar temple. Is it uzbeks tajiks afghans. It is clearly built by hindus.it is ridiculous. This nonsense should end.
