      Thanks MLH, it almost made me want the hardware Yamaha CS01…but then I realized it was originally monophonic. And BA-1 can do tons more. The new swiss army knife for original and ballsy organic synth sounds. 140%👌🥁😄

      It actually sounds super cheap and harsh on a track side by side with even a roland Jupiter plugin. It will sound warm after adding about 5 after fx but by then what’s the point? It literally hurts my ears and I had to delete it from my project after hearing it in comparison to a Jupiter playing the same thing.
      It’s a 9.99 cheap novelty plug-in at best, but Baby Audio is good at marketing magic and has everyone fooled by the fun GUI. But when I close my eyes and listen, it still hurts my ears lol

      Thanks Fabian, yeah among the 80s kinda emulations I feel this one is a strike! Battery is such a sweet tool to make the sounds super organic. As analog sounding as a vst instrument can get IMO. 👍🥁😄☕️

    Man your song is really great! I came back just to listen it again. I think you might have done the best marketing for the BA-1 with your song. I think it's expensive for such a simple synth.

    Dear Mattias, awesome work! Since i watched the first videos of you, the image of you controlling things with your pencil was associated with you, haha! So since now i m considering moving from Ableton to Bitwig, i tested Bitwig alot with my 24 inch Touchmonitor (direct control, without pencil). I love it! But there are things which i also miss greatly, and things which absolutely do NOT work as expected, like touch control. Since you use it all the time, i think you're the best possible man to ask this question: Are you able to grab and control the Points of Automation via Touchcontrol, yes or no? To me, it seems, that it is impossible!? In Ableton and even Cubase, you can control Automation-Points with the Finger easily, quickly make a selection of many points, and also select clips or midi notes with a simple slide-gesture, just like with the mouse - and you can hold & press with the finger to activate the normal right-click-mousemenue! All of the latter is impossible in Bitwig? It seems, Paradoxically, Bitwig managed to make the touch control experience worse due to its exclusive Touchcontrol-behavior (radial menu) which can't be turned off - and forces the user to go back to the mouse for specific tasks. Or am i wrong? Thanks alot for an answer!

    • @MattiasHolmgren
      @MattiasHolmgren  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I've not got much experience using touch (per-se) with Bitwig, as the Wacom Tablet acts as a mouse input except it's much more convenient than using a mouse. It's much better from an ergonomical perspective. And it's also less clicky for the listeners when I'm shooting videos. *lol* Editing automation is a breeze IMO. It takes a while to learn using a tablet, but it's rewarding.
      So I guess I can't be of any good help in your "touch issues" with Bitwig. 🍿🌞

    • @sternenherz
      @sternenherz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MattiasHolmgren ohhh, it acts as mouse, and bypasses the whole Bitwig-way of Touchcontrol! Now i understand, why you never had an issue. I must be one of the very few people actually trying to use Bitwig on a 24inch Touchmonitor, haha. Thanks for answering!

    • @MattiasHolmgren
      @MattiasHolmgren  ปีที่แล้ว

      A tablet /laptop touchpad is basically the same thing. Except you can use a pen om the surface too. Works great and the best ergonomic alternative Ive found after 30 years.

    • @sternenherz
      @sternenherz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MattiasHolmgren yea, i bet it is really precise. I would love to be able to use it without a pen though, especially for live jamming: direct touch for direct control..., i ll write to the Bitwig Support, to make a bypass button :)

    Any synth that really sounds like 80s or early 90s new wave musics like idk Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division, Jean Miachel Jarre, Deep Forest, this sounds mostly like those bad VHS commercials on TV from the 80s than any good synth bands from the 80s, and almost all 80s synth i found is all like those synthwave stuff that is more like commercials or opening TV series than real band form the 80s.

    Can't share the enthusiasm: sounds harsh, digital and pseudo-analog tro me. Compared to things like Softube emulations it is really at least two classes below for my taste.

    • @defrigge
      @defrigge ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MattiasHolmgren Meanwhile I tried the demo to give it a fair chance. I'm a happy user of Crystalline, Smooth Operator and casually Taip, so I basically like what Baby Audio does. But BA-1 does not remotely sound as naturally analog 80s to me, as much as e.g. Softube Model 80/82/84, Korg Polysix, Roland Juno 60 and Tal Uno-LX V2 do, just to name some I prefer. Not my cup of tea.

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      Cool. I like it, useful for lofi / degraded sounds. Crystalline and Comeback Kid are favourites from BabyAudio.

      Sounds great! Doesn't remind me a bit of the original though (except maybe the basses). I owned it for seven years. The CS01 was one of my first synths.
      This might be partly due to the effects added, which CS01 didn't have (except a chorus or unisonlike setting I think?).
