    we bought three of these trimmers in the last year to use in our orchard. They were used every day for about four months. The trimmers work well but have not held up. All three of them failed for different reasons at different times. Dewalt has been good about replacing them. We will have to see how well these replacement ones hold up during the coming trimming season.

      I had mine for about 2 months before the brush motor started excessively sparking and eventually failing, this wasnt professional use either, just a large home garden cleareance. Gone back to dewalt to repair. Maybe the Milwaukee would be a better choice for a pro.

      I'll be purchasing my 4th one tomorrow. I can't live without them, they are amazing while they work, but the brushes go bad. Dewalt needs to go brushless on these. Also, It's hilarious the box says 1100 cuts per charge because I'm not sure my current pair lasted 1100 cuts before failing.

    I tried cutting big branches with the giant clippers… not fun and difficult at times. Cordless pruner looks better in my books! (Btw- my 4yr old son enjoys watching your videos)

    Ive been using that pruner for several months and have been very happy with it. Ive cut down several trees it makes cutting up the smaller branches faster and easier.

    It sure is worth it. I’ve used it a lot since I bought it a month ago. Yes, thick branches may take two, or even three chops to go through. But that’s fine. Doing that by hand would be a killer. Inch and a half refers to live wood. That’s important to understand about all pruners. Hard, dead wood is much more difficult to cut for any pruner. It will cut, according to their specs, 19mm birch dowels, which are pretty hard. So they’re not fudging the specs. I carry it by the finger guard instead of the handle as a safety. It’s comfortable carrying it that way. They show how to sharpen the blade in the manual, you know, that paper thing people throw away.

    Summer trimming and pruning around our summer cottage usually takes about two days' work and with the pruner I had half of it done in a three hour morning. Took the rest of the day off and finished it off the next morning. Easily worth the $140ish (Canadian dollars) considering it effectively gave me an extra day to do things I want to do.

    Ive had mine for a week and think its superb . They cost about £110 in the UK . Used it all day on a gardening job and dont intend going back to loppers . Its brushed , so longuevity could be an issue . With a 5Ah battery it does get heavy after prolong use , so simply change hands . The irritating safety switch helps keep my thumbs attached 👍

    I was able to cut up to 3-inch oak limbs by cutting notches as you would with an ax. Just kind of nibbling away. Also cuts pvc if its sharp. Bad part it only lasted 2 years but I definitely got my monies worth.

    I think they did not have to reinvent the wheel on these, Felco and Infaco has made these for vineyards for 30 years.
    Their hand piece is slim and easy to get into crowded spots because the battery is outboard of the tool.

    • @IsItWorthIt-wr4nq
      @IsItWorthIt-wr4nq  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Infaco tools are very nice but very expensive also. I'm sure they are probably out of the price range for the average person but great quality. Definitely a tool that has proven itself. Thanks!

    I have a issue with the time out .. i think...the tool stops working if i hold the safety to long and not cutting something it wont operate again until i remove the battery and reinstall it which seems to reset the safety. Other then that boy you can make a lot of of branches to pick up. I also use to cut up dry small branches to use as fire starter in campfires. Definitely a tool for adults that pay attention when cutting.

    DeWalt is just another HP.
    $40 for the printer, and $80 for a set of ink cartridges…..$100 for the pruner, and $60 for the blades.

    To be fair any bypass style cutter is meant for green wood. I'd bet a pull or two on a green branch it'd go right through. I use a similar tool in my vineyard, it'll cut max capacity on green wood no problem, but old dead wood it's only about 2/3 of the max. My only beef with the DeWalt is there's no way to reduce the cutting diameter, which would increase speed & battery life.

  • @sswwooppee
    @sswwooppee 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    In my opinion, DeWalt should have made this tool smaller and part of their 12v line.

      I ordered one of these, i am on Makita platform so got battery adapter too, no way i am spending near €1000 for Maikta shears, for the use i need.
      Bosch make 12v version and i am on that platform too, again the price twice what DeWalt cost + adapter €20.

    Attention il suffit que la lame soit un peu desserrée et la coupe ne sera pas nette . La lame ne doit avoir aucun jeu.

      Thanks for the comment. I agree that it does work best on green branches, but since we have so many large trees on our property, there are hundreds of dead, dry branches we have to pickup after each storm and we use this tool to cut them up. So, for us, the majority of our use is on dead, dry branches. Thanks.
