- I started recording this Flowmaster vs MBRP Muffler video in March of 2018. After driving with a Super 10 for over a year I highly recommend it.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
Have an independent shop Weld your exhaust joints and a hanger for the super 10, don't use clamps, welding your pipes not only secures them, it prevents rattling sounds, prevents exhaust leaks, and improves MPG up to almost 50 miles per tank!
My truck is a 2005 Z71 Chevy Colorado LS 3.5 Liter 5 Cylinder.
Hopefully this helps you decide which exhaust muffler is best to get on a Chevy Colorado!
For anyone looking to do this themselves, you won't need to cut the exhaust to remove it. Just jack up the rear end, if you have a hitch do it from there, so that the suspension can extend and it creates space to snake out the exhaust. It's obviously up to you to decide which way to do it. It may be easier for some to just cut it. But, I figured I would share my experience with replacing mine.

my exhaust system is in MBRP system that I got from CARiD but I won't buy from them or recommend them again only reason why I bought from them was because I had in store credit that they wouldn't refund me

That only adds a little horse power. But try changing the headers will definitely put more loud noise thru your muffler and add more power. Good luck

Thanks man! I have a 2019 3.6 btw and had to get the 2.5 in/out, that's all they had in stock so I had it put on just today and I'm liking it so far! Always room for upgrades down the road!

If you ever have to cut an exhaust pipe again I would suggest a sawzall with a metal cutting blade. Reason being, no sparks, no cutting wheel/metal dust and there's no chance of it flying off and hitting you in the face. 👍
Thanks fam yeah that shit is so scary one of the disks broke when I was cutting and it almost flew off but it has a little plastic safety catcher but it's still sketchy

If I'm going to change my exhaust I want a noticable difference but that's just me. The Flowmasters were that. Unimpressed with the other one..

I've a 42" bar but the included stands or whatever, are to short to mount like yours.
Imagine the aftermarket potential for this motor. Such a beautiful sound, with good reliability.

My brothers colorado had 500k kms on it when he got rid of it he beat the living piss out of it too an itt was still a strong running engine all he did was regular oil changes

Where did you by the flow master and the pipes at?
I got my pipes and the mbrp muffler all in one package from CARiD however I would not recommend them only reason why I got it was because I had store credit because they wouldn't refund me $300. For the flowmaster you can get them on Amazon or your local auto parts store like AutoZone

I have basically the same truck you have but a canyon and I was wondering do you think it would sound good with a super 10 without changing the exhaust system?
For sure! I may have changed the tail pipes, but the muffler is the main thing that affects the sound!

Dumb question but would the Flowmaster Super 10 still fit on a 2004? Asking because yours is an '05, mines an '04 and I'd rather not drop a couple hundred on this if it won't even fit 😂

Can't really say, I'm running a 3.5L 2WD and I love the MBRP system, but I swapped the muffler with the flowmaster

This vid was super helpful, I have an 06 and I cut the muffler off like a month and a half ago, I love the way it sounds but I’m sick of the drone, and now I think I know how I’m gonna set it up. I do wanna ask tho, if you see this can you tell me if you’ve had any drone issues since the current setup was installed?
I'm really happy this video helps! And it only drones if you cruise about 60ish MPH but it's honestly nowhere near the obnoxious level of a straight pipe drone it's kinda subtle if you break that threshold and go 66~70+MPH it's gone! 4th/5th gear is the quietest gear!

I own a 2005 Chevy Colorado Z71 3.5 and im getting 400 miles to a tank of gas, is yours 4x4?? Now my 2019 GMC Canyon 4x4 is getting about 300 miles to a tank with the 3.6, I love my Colly though!!!! Good truck!!!

All you have to do is remove like 5 clips from the front grille to take it off, and then there are two bolts on the headlight housings! super easy but the clips are kinda tricky to get to since theyre in hard to reach areas, i recommend using long thin angled pliers to pinch them and pull hard on the grill, it will feel like you are going to break it but trust me its strong ive taken my grill of hundreds of times!

Personally the 40 Series Sounds the best, but annoying when it’s a daily and you ride with your wife.
50 Series with resonance delete is the perfect blend of sound and no drone. IMO
But still quieter than the 40 Series.
Is the super 10 straight or offset? 2.5" or 3"? I have an 07 Colorado 2wd with the 5 cylinder and looking to get this set up just not sure about the pipe size and straight fit or if it needs to be offset .

B Bailey6954 For my H3 I removed the muffler and left the resonater. Not a lot of drone. And it’s free to try!
@@endeavoredh35 I just bought a couple chrome exhaust tips, a Y-pipe and two small resonators to run single into two. Going to have them installed hopefully this Friday. Fingers crossed.

Straight pipe is definitely louder! It also has way more drone which can be obnoxious especially to passengers! All things to consider!

I'm pretty sure it's a 40-in" and I got my brackets from Amazon they were Silverado brackets so I had to bend them by hand which was a pain in the ass just because Colorado brackets at the time were very expensive at the time
