@@barryallen6293 I definitely like the flowmaster. There are a few out there that I think sound good. I like the borla, gmpp, flowmaster, and MBRP. It was an easy choice because MBRP was the only exhaust I could get shipped to Alaska. Borla would ship here but it was around $600.
With the intake and throttle body the exhaust tone does change slightly but I have had no problems! Waiting for the new 2023 Colorado with the 2.7 turbo!!!

I've had borla on quiet a few vehicles. I really like the sound and they make a great product. I've never used mbrb and I couldn't beat the price with shipping to Alaska. So that was the main driving force in my decision. I happy with it so far. We'll see how it holds up over a few Alaskan winters.

Good question, I was a little concerned aboard that initially. I’ve had the exhaust on the truck for around 5 months now and there’s no rust at this time. I was planning to spray it with an anti rust coating or a black high temp paint but I haven’t seen any signs of rust so I might not worry about it

Man excellent detail and instructions! After 3 colorados and three different mufflers (turbo tube, magnaflow, and stock) the only way I found to eliminate drone (the constant sound at about 2k rpm under load like going up a slight grade at 70 mph) the best solution is leave factory muffler and remove the resonator. It will sound a little better outside but no different inside. After all, isn’t that the goal is make it sound a little more ballsy? Give a listen to a 2020 Silverado with the 4.3 (if u can find one) it sound bold and just has the stock muffler and screen type resonated tailpipe. I have a startup on my page but no drive by. You can hear it under a load outside as I did listen when a friend punched it for me. 🙂 Thanks for posting this.
I feel it’s one of the best bang for the buck exhausts out there. It can get loud on a long incline driving up a mountain. It’s easy to deal with if you just change rpms

I’m going with S&B I want to do the full tube rather than jus the box I’ve had mine for 7 months now an haven’t done anything yet except weather tech floor mats an keeping it clean an normal maintenance like oil change and filter change
I think this exhaust will be a little loud if you’re traveling at 70mph, going up any significant hills or towing. I don’t really mind the noise because I’m always listening to music loud. I’m assuming you like it to be quiet that’s why you’re asking.
@@DustinFaddis Soler Performance makes two for the Colorado 3.6. I got the smaller of the two since I don't have a tune. They also make a great pedal accessory that gets rid of pedal lag !
Magnaflow ,airraid cold air intake lost some low end power but seemed to have more on the top end faster sounds good not to load but still has some growl. Over all happy with my install. Was thinking about the brp though. Like the black tail pipe looks nice.
We haven’t had any issues with the transmission. My brother has a 2018 with around 100k miles and hasn’t had any transmission issues either. Did you have the dealer flush the trans? I’ve heard that and a quick trans update fixes the issue.
That sounds much better. I had a MBRP exhaust on my Silverado and I loved it too. I'm looking to get a ZR2 in the next few months... haven't decided on the V6 or the Duramax and get it tuned.
Thanks, I totally agree. You can tune the v6 as well. Look into trifecta. I’ll be running mine shortly. This exhaust would be a little loud if you were towing a lot.
V6 for sure. That duraturd is so slow, even with a tune. I drove them both and the diesel is great if you just want to cruise around but if you want to enjoy all the ZR2 has to offer, you can't lose with the V6. Especially after a tune 😉
My brother and a friend of mine both have the diesel and they replaced the exhaust with afe and they really like the sound. I really like the gas trucks with exhaust. Diesel it seems you hear the turbo more which is great as well
Please tell me you have exhaust fans in your garage, it was making me nervous seeing the truck running with it closed lol. Anyways great vid, just one question. How does it sound under heavy acceleration? Ive seen a lot of the after market cat backs sound great at low rpm but once you get higher in the revs it sounds like it should be in the fast and furious. Its really hard to get an exhaust note through videos unfortunately.
I don't have any exhaust fans haha. If I'm going to let it run more than about 10 seconds I open the garage door. I avoid having the door open when I'm working on out in the winter here in Alaska. It gets -60 here in Fairbanks lol. The exhaust gets a little high pitched when burning out. Not really under heavy acceleration though. I have a short video that I'll attach that has a small clip of me spinning the tires in the dirt. I'll grab the link real quick and attach it below.

i went with wraith. ity fit just perfect. they sent a muffler that is tiny so i called and they sent a longer one. the tiny one was really loud. i liked but the neighbors...not so much.
Haha.. yeah it’s pretty quiet around my place when I leave for work. I’m sure the neighbors wouldn’t appreciate waking up at 0430am when I leave for work. The MBRP isn’t too loud. Just loud enough.
It sounds great in person. It's got a nice low tone at idle. Normal driving conditions you barely hear it inside the cab. However, if you step on it or if you go up a hill it gets loud in the cab. Thanks for watching Mike
Great question George. I’ve been meaning to address this in the videos. I do have a new set of tires on the truck but not for the reason that everyone mights suspect. These are 265/70 r17 and they fit great. I still would like to jump up to the 285/70r17 but these are just my winter tires. They’re Bridgestone blizzack tires which are pretty much the gold standard up here in Alaska for winter driving. In the summer I’ll swap back out for some aggressive tires. The stock Goodyear’s are good bu they’re just a little small now with the level. I’ll update everyone on which tires we end up going with. I’ll probably just sell the original. Here in Alaska my driveway is long steep and covered in ice for about 4 - 5 months out of the year. Last winter the stock tires wouldn’t get out of our driveway. With the blizzack tires it feels like the driveway is dry. Thanks for watching.
