This movie wasn't about being the best pilot, some dangerous mission, or fast jets. It's about learning to be the best wingman/teammate/friend you can be. Within that message, you came to learn that while you can't go back, you can still make it right. You can face your demons and failures, accept your role in them, and then make it right. It's never too late to change or be your best. You don't need to go Mach 10 or dodge missiles to get there, you just need to show up. However hard it may be, no matter what your ride, just showing up is often enough. Don't give up, and keep fighting till the end. Even if you did all that, and you still fail, people will remember you showed up when it counted. People will remember your effort long after your success or failure. They could depend on you, and when you came, you did your best. Yeah, it was just a movie. But not if you paid attention. If you paid attention, you know it was a lot more, especially if you watched it the original 35 years ago, lived a life, and saw this after. This movie was way more than it had any right to be. It succeeded not because it was trying to be a sequel. It succeeded because it offered closure.
I'm going through one of the hardest times of my life... with both my parents gone and standing alone looking after my 2 little angels. love of my life left me... I lay in bed listening to this as therapy. Keeping strong.
Stay Strong Brother. Especially for your little Angels. Lost the love of my life after 34 years, fortunately my angels are grown, but it hurts. Be strong for yourself and for them, God Bless You 👼

What you say: most people with a heart can relate to. I know I can. Mum passed away 8 years ago, and it still feels like yesterday. And I still feel as lost.... Life has a tendency to break us given half a chance. It's music like this: that can keep us alife in those moments.
There's something SO MAGICAL about this scene and it's music filmed from space. My body could only cope with this by shedding a few tears... "He's the fastest man alive!", surrounded by devine sounds. Pure Perfection!
Im here holding my 1 x month old daughter on my chest, she's sleeping peacefully while we listened to this...❤ I planned to use this to help her sleep since the movie came out. thank you.🥰
I did that with both of my boys when they were newborns. I let them sleep on my chest for hours, listening to different music. Usually classical, but always something soft. They'd sleep deeply. The room is dark and maybe the TV is on but it's quiet and they can feel your heartbeat and body heat, reminding them of being in the womb. You're creating a bond with your baby that cannot be broken at the subconscious level. My sons are grown now, 20 and 22. I've always had the strongest relationship with them both; even in their teen angst years, they gave me almost no trouble. People used to talk about the "terrible twos" and how awful that phase is. I have no idea what that means. I loved every phase of their lives except during occasional bouts of sibling rivalry. But then I'd pull both aside and tell them how my own relationship with my brother is awful and how they need to work together for each other. It's not a competition. It never will be. There will be a time when they will be all that's left of me, and all they can really rely on is each other. They are tight now and call each other often. My 20-year-old called me just today. He's living his own life now so I asked sort of jokingly "to what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" He replied, "Nothing Dad, I haven't talked to you in a while and just wanted to catch up." I talked to my oldest son even more often. They have no idea what that means to me as their father to know they are happy, living their best lives, and being good men. I've made more mistakes than I can count, even with them from time to time, but overall, I did the best I could. They turned out ok. I saw this movie with them when it came out. I saw the original when I was 17. Top Gun was a cool movie when I was young - Top Gun: Maverick was something else. It was the closure I didn't know I needed. I came out of there understanding it was my time to pass the torch to them. I was ready; they were ready. TGM had no right to be as good as it was. It should have been Hollywood trash, as most remakes and sequels are these days. It turned out to be exactly what I needed to let my boys go like Maverick had to do to Goose and Rooster. Sorry for the dissertation - I wish you and your baby the best life possible. Never forget, be a parent first, friend second. That's what they need and want. Show them guidance and direction. Correct them when they are wrong, and never, ever be afraid to tell them you love them. Every day.

Welp, in just a few days that’ll make one year since I last truly spoke to my “wingman”. Shared most of my teenager life with them and ‘til today the first and last person I showed my true colors to. And because aviation was a big part of our bond, I still miss that one piece deep down. To this day, I don’t know if I’ll find someone else to make me feel this, alive. But fighting and flying is what kept me alive during this entire year of grief and fighting, so I’ll carry on with that. Listening to that woke these good memories up for a painful few minutes. Said I’d never stop hoping for “us” then but, as time flies by I feel like it’s time to let go… As much as the place isn’t a life checkpoint, I feel it fitting to drop this here as my own way to finally vent this crazy tile I’ve had. Never stop fighting, people. o7
If ever there was a reason to remember the Air Force motto of AIM HIGH, FLY, FIGHT, WIN, it's this....I've personally struggled with darkness and Sui... but I leaned into a friend who became my wingman and who I'll always be grateful to as they reached out not knowing what to do when I was telling them that things were getting bad. You're here to live a life of passion and peace. Don't let that be stolen away from you. Aim High
I don't know, but suddenly, when I saw that horizon too much, the lights and flashes, I felt like I was flying, as if I were about to be born, as if I had to go somewhere; like the journey into the future, inevitable future
I’m totally alone in life. I have my cat and he is going to die soon, and I have my mom and so is she. After that I have no friends, no family, no loved ones. I’m losing my ability to socialize because I don’t use it often enough. I hurt from loneliness 24/7, but the only thing that makes my heart stop aching and the chest tightness go away is flight. I build and fly my own RC jets because that’s as close to a real jet as I can get right now. When I’m flying, if I try real hard, I can almost feel peace.
Continue fighting brother, life will get better soon! During tough times my flight simulator setup also helped me alot, flighing my f22 1st person at 50000 feet seeing the sunset on the horizon flying at mach 2 is a feeling i cannot describe. @@diogocabral5238 The f22 is my favorite aircraft. Partly because it was unveiled on my birthday, and partly because I know so much about it. I have a freewing F22 8s with the 1950 motor and a 15 blade shubler fan. I haven’t flown it yet because you can’t just take a jet with a 1.5m wingspan, 13hp, and a top speed of 150mph to just any park. At top speed it would leave my radio range in less than 60 seconds. It has a bigger motor, bigger esc, and uses bigger batteries than an Xmaxx. I’m aiming to be as close to a 2:1 p/w ratio as I can. This will allow “inverted hover”… in a jet.
