I have to give it up for Sheila Ford Hamp as well. She took over the Chair from her mom in 2020. She hired Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell. Allowed Holmes to trade Stafford for Goff and 3 draft picks. I thought it was insane at the time. This is why I watch games from the couch. Goff is the MVP through week 7, the added draft picks instantly built a championship contender. Sheila Ford Hamp is the unsung hero for this team.
There’s one person you forgot. Sheila relied on Chris Spielman to help hire the right people. Without him, I doubt we’d have Brad and Dan.

We will lose to the Chiefs in the Superbowl when Andy Reid outcoaches Dan Gamble situationally. Trying to eat up clock before you're in field goal range... it's great that it worked against Minnesota this time, but a couple 3rd or 4th downs and it could have easily forced a much longer FG attempt. It was bad situational coaching that the Lions got away with. Just because it works sometimes, doesn't mean it's good situational coaching, and that's the kind of thing where luck runs out against well-coached teams the closer you get to the Superbowl.

TRUTH!! Had we had the chance to play Mahomes again last season we would have crushed them. This season won't be any different.

The Lions are built similarly to the Peyton Manning Colts on offense. If you put the Mannings' name on the back of Goff's jersey the sports shows would be going crazy over him. Unfortunately, the media has already decided that Goff is trash, and doesn't like to admit being wrong.

In my head, the Lions staff and players are like a Floyd Mayweather. They download in the game info and adjust. They’ve learned how to incorporate the refs and what they’re allowing opposing teams to get away with. Once they get that figured out, they proceed to play a different brand of FUNDAMENTAL football that forces the refs and the opposing team to be more honest in their game. Not to mention, the other team gets even more beat up before their next game! Detroit Lions, Americas… the world’s team! 😂😁👍🏾🇺🇸🇺🇸🌍🇺🇸

I believe what helps the Chiefs and the Lions win these games is their mentality. They both expect themselves to win the game no matter how terrible the game is going or how terrible they're playing they still feel like they should have a chance to win the game. Compared to other teams including the old Detroit lions, they could be up by 14 points and feel like they're going to lose the game one way or another even after being up by two scores in the third quarter and sure enough they would let the team tie the game up and then we'll go to overtime and then they'd end up losing the game. But now when they're losing the game they feel like they have a chance to win it with a Firepower they have and they just feel like they're always going to be in the game no matter what. And the Chiefs have that same mentality, they don't feel like they're supposed to lose. They could be down by 14 points in the third quarter and they feel like all they need is one score one touchdown and make a stop and nine times out of 10 they end up doing just that and coming back to win the game. So I believe it's their mindset that whimsy's games because they never feel like they should be losing these games they feel like they're going to win one way or another. It's all about manifestation and speaking and thinking things into existence

if we didnt get cheated last season by dallas we wouldve had homefield advantage against san fran and we win that to play the chiefs in the bowl... we already beat them on banner night first week of the nfl. Ive been calling chiefs lions since last season and yeah we lost hutch but dan campbell is a next man up guy and who knows we might even get crosby. Were either all in this season or next season we will be the scariest team in the nfl. Either way lions are winning and that makes football fun

Yep, I keep telling Viking fans that Goff played his ass off and they won by two. The Vikings are really good. Last half of the 4th quarter lions had two stripped balls that went the lions way. This seasons they’ve gone the Vikings way. Could have been a different story for sure. Great game! Skol
This game easily could have been a blow out. The two biggest turning point plays went the Vikings way. If they go the other way, it's a 21 point turn around because the Vikings scored after the fumble was reversed.

I agree with you, even though blowing out a team is always great & fun, I believe a team gets better by winning those close games. When you face adversity, what do you do? Do you rise to the challenge or will you fold? Detroit has more experience but even though Minnesota lost, I believe they're a better team today than they were yesterday. This game reminds me of the NFC championship game, except instead of folding under pressure, they shrugged it off and pushed through. That "almost strip" of Goff is the perfect example. Last year, I don't think he would have reacted as calmly and professionally as he did and complete that pass. Everyone is just so poised and confident right now. After we traded away Stafford, I wouldn't have imagined we could come this far this quickly. After watching and supporting this team for over 50 years, it is so unbelievably gratifying to see where they are right now and where we can hopefully be soon, and for some years to come. And praying for Hutch's return to full beast mode.

Even if the Lions were undefeated, I would still put the Chiefs above them in the Power Rankings. When the Lions beat them in the Super Bowl I don't want people saying they didn't beat the best. The Chiefs have earned their props and if the Lions can take the title from them, then they'll have earned theirs. Until then... The Chiefs are The Chiefs.

The game should not have been close, the NFL kept it close by calling back Branch's fumble return for a TD, sure the NFL probably had more camera angles than we did but it took so long that i'm convinced they said "nah his foot was barely out of bounds no TD". If that doesn't get called back the game is over. Vikings deflated. and probably the 42-17 prediction I said. But regardless, I didn't see any panic from anyone on the sidelines for the Lions. Coach Campbell was right this team is so hardened right now. You can't break us apart, even after the gut punch of losing Hutch for the season, This team is playing better than the Chiefs in totality right now. Chiefs do have an outstanding defense which is winning them games like the Vikings defense have mostly been doing, and Mahomes is not playing well right now but i fully expect him to turn it on at some point, because it Mahomes he's still the best QB in the league overall, but Goff is playing MVP caliber right now.
Hutch coming back for the SB is something I'm not counting on, but his mentality and makeup I can see him beathing the odds and he's 24, it was a clean break, no other damage, I would not be surprised if he makes it back for the NFC championship or something wild.
No no no no no you're 100% right, on the replay that they showed it showed the Vikings players foot still in bounds and his heel and cleats started to go downward but then at the last minute it went back up and you didn't see any dirt fly up or any beads fly up from the cleat and the ruling supposed to be that if there's no definitive evidence showing that the player stepped out of bounds then they have to make the play Stand and from the replay views that they had from the good angle that you can see the player's feet it showed the players foot was still in bounds and his heel was hovering over the the outer bounds mark and his cleat kind of looks like it touches the white but it you can't really tell it you didn't see any grass fly up or any beads fly up so even if it did touch the white on that camera angle you couldn't tell definitively if it touched the white or not but they still called it back and that's bullshit, the play should have stood and in my opinion I don't believe the player actually stepped out of bounds and it could because like I said his cleats started to go downward and then at the last minute his heel started Rising back up when he was running forward. And if we talking about the referees again, the Vikings offensive line was holding a shit ton of times on the Lions blitzes but don't never call it on the Vikings but yet they called holding on the Lions for even the smallest little hold. This game , lions should've actually won by at least 7 points. Vikings got that lucky fumble for td, which I give their defense credit for making the play they needed at the most critical time. But how often does that happen in nfl games? Not much. That's why I said it was a lucky Play. It's similar to needing a pick 6 or onside kick to win a game, they just don't happen that often. Either way, thr Vikings are still a tough team and I'll give them respect and credit due, but these Vikings fans need to stop it with the "yall only won by 2 points on last minute fg" smh. It should've been 7 point or more win easily.

bruh the refs were in your pocket the whole game. missed a block in the back on the TD and we got called for roughing the passer when you guys didn't when the player was forced into the QB so stop crying. The Chiefs may be undefeated, but don't look good and are running out of playmakers. Lions are the best team in football, but I do hope they still trade for a pass rusher, or two for that matter. Paschall and Levi aren't going to cut it.

Even though Sam Darnold got sacked 4 times he had way too much time in the pocket. If the Vikes had a better more poised quarter back - who knows? The Lions need someone who can put pressure on the QB, make the QB hurry = mistakes.

That's not how football works. And giving up a 2nd and third for Crosby would be steal. You'd pray that you could draft someone as good as Crosby with a second or 3rd. And when AH comes back you'd have both for next season. Which would make the lions even better and deeper.

You would not draft a pass rusher at that pick that would be better then Crosby. Yea... but look where the Rams are now... trading away a bunch of picks does not set us up for the future. Obviously, as a Lions fan, i want to see the first ever Super Bowl happen in my lifetime... but i also want this team to be an NFC dynasty. And dynasties are done in the draft, and it needs to be that way with how young and good the Bear and Packers look. Also, look at KC. They don't make big mid-season moves. They build within. That's the blueprint. Be patient, trust the culture, and we'll get there. 😊
I know the Rams kind of look like crap now because it seems like a lot of their good players got injured after their Super Bowl like their injury-prone now but I feel like both the Lions and the Rams won on that deal on the trade because the Rams got their Super Bowl out of it which you can't ever say that's a loss or losing deal. Because I want to see the Lions get that super bowl no matter what it takes and I hate to say this but if the Lions could trade pics and get certain players to get a Super Bowl this year and we end up being bad or mediocre for the next 3 or 4 years I would take that deal in a heartbeat I want to see a Super Bowl ASAP I've been to Lions fan since the late 80s when I was in Middle School after seeing Barry Sanders get drafted and watching him play and I've been a fan ever since I played with them on all the Madden's throughout the 90s when they're terrible and I always stuck with them and finally I could smile but I want to see it Go fully to the end and see them win a Superbowl

They need to go all out on this season. I trust Brad but everything he does is with the goal of long term success and winning 2 or 3 Super Bowls. My fear is that we build for 2 or 3 Super Bowls but never win our first. I don’t want to look back on this like I do the Tigers from 2006-2013.

Since then, we have been overwhelmed by one hot shoe rookie quarterback after another, and everytime they win four in a row, they automatically get compared to Peytom Manning or Tom Shady.
I understand you don't have much to report on an average season, but Goff shooting over 14 for 14 for three games in a row, ( with only the Titans to make it four in a row) should be the talk of the century.

I really think chiefs need to slip down to like 3-4 in the rankings. Their record isn’t pretty, they look like they’re winning in spite of how they’re playing a lot this year, they don’t look like the best team in the league when they play, I’d argue some 4-2 teams look a lot better at a lot of positions.

The NFC championship unfortunately might see two NFC North teams.
Lions are "The team" per last 3 games stats n eyeball test. But, its a long season yet to be had. Funky stuff to occur, before or after Halloween.
Priority #1 (for all contenders) injury free or lack of injuries thereof;
#2 stay consistently good/great (yet, "better lucky than good.") gain homefield advantage if possible; --> Am damn sure Goff can't keep up his superman QB mojo but he need not have to be, and teams with video study should be able to eventually slow down Gibbs/Montgomery tandem (like under 100 yd individual efforts)
Lions have a streak going against Vikings currently but all games have been competitive per the score. One more, last game of the year.

Need an all-pro DT run stopper;
Need a healthy Aaron Jones for "O" to flow effectively;

Lions are great, but I’m not going to say beating the Vikings on a last second fg makes them the best “by a good margin” or anything along those lines. I’d say it was a coin flip against the Vikes and anyone’s game the next time they play.

The vikings have just like the lions put up hella points but they only put up realistically 17 on the defence. 7 were from terrible field position after a bad go for it on 4th call. And the other 7 froma. Scoop and score provided by the offence. This might have realistically been the defences best performance

9ers still have a decent roster. And KC did it with a less than stellar game from Mahomes. Run game and defense won that for KC. Lions everything won it for them. Quite simple to understand

Was a great game and it's clear that the Lions and Vikings are true contenders. As a Vikings fan it's so irritating that on 3 n 4 Darnold throws 3 inches to high to Jefferson. Lions had that game won but after that fumble recovery we shoulda put that game away.
Also I wouldn't say Vikings were at full strength. Were still missing TJ and our green dot who runs our defense Grenard was out. That was a huge loss but Lions still did their thing after losing their best defensive player.

What's crazy is if you watch a lot of the Lions games this year even though they won by big numbers, the referees were still trying their hardest to help their opponents from the Seahawks to the Cowboys to even the Vikings yesterday I saw the Vikings offensive line holding a shit ton of times that never got called and the Cowboys game a bunch of pass interferences that were never called yet they would call it on the lions in a heartbeat they called pass interference three or four times on the Lions but never on the Cowboys. Can you imagine what the scores would possibly be if the referees weren't being biased. I believe the Lions know now that these referees are against him and will always try to help their opponents so now they try to keep these games Out Of Reach and not allow the roof to dictate the end of the game
