That’s the same model you folks were showing at Automate 2024, correct?? Looked really nice, but didn’t know all of the features until seeing this vid. 😎😎👍👍
Yes, it is the same machine. We'll have the 1500MX at IMTS Chicago, on September 9th thru the 14th, at South Hall, Booth 338062. If anyone wants to see it in action again come on by.
Hmmm, I remember when epoxy granite bases were a new thing in the early 2000's. At that time, it was starting to be used on ultra-precision (really ultra precision) diamond turning machines. I can see no reason to use cast iron now except for cheap low-end machines.
It still does have a belt, but it's more of a timing belt, so it's more robust and it doesn't have to be set to high or low. This 1500MX belt also keeps track of position better so we can use the encoder of the spindle motor vs. a separate encoder. Thanks for the good question!
And the one thing Tormach failed to consider is evacuation of metalworking fluid mist which here in the UK is a hot health & safety topic for commercial users as the HSE expect this on CNC machining centres. Mind you the UK agent for Tormach are next to useless.
The mist collector for the 1500MX is mentioned just after the 3 minute mark. It will be coming later this year, as well as the chip conveyor and the TSC. In fact, many are coming even sooner than expected.
@@flosscap that’s not good enough an excuse to be coming later when your faced with a HSE inspection and a fee for intervention notice at £175 per hour plus VAT. I am sticking with my PCNC770 until something comes along thats considerably better and has better support here in the UK.
@user-lv5ij3zn9w just don't buy an American machine built to American standards. Go buy a European machine that meets your standards out of the box. I swear all people do is complain
Good looking machine! Looking forward to making the leap into TORMACH someday.
Congrats on the amazing job you did, Tom and the gang!
Very nice machine well put together. If you guys ever get rid of one, I’ll take it.❤❤

Please make one with a highspeed spindle for micro machining and ill buy one.
Can i make a table out of this?
