i love how victoria handles dogs but she needs to be more harsh with the owners. it was so disrespectful to change victoria’s training and then blame it on the housekeeper. i can’t stand this woman.

If she is more harsh people won´t accept her advices. They will defend their opinion, no matter how wrong it is. That´s why it is better to stay positive and kind ; )

I'm not trying to be mean, it seems Jenn changed the command so people would think she trained the dogs on her own. As if she's a dog whiperer. Back fired on her by her own dogs! Hopefully, she REALLY has learned her lesson. Love Victoria!

Her excuse is that so it'll "serve her need". What kind of ridiculous excuse is that? She has too much ego.
To me it looked like she was less focused on the training and more focused on looking like a dog trainer who knows everything. Why else would there be that scene where she approachs the house keeper for dog training and talks down to her like that. It's an ego thing, she wants complete control and is trying to control how people see her (she doesn't want people to think she failed in caring for/training the dogs) so she decided to try and take Victoria's spot and act as the authority figure who is knowledgeable and therefore should be followed and praised. I know this is unkind but she reminded me of a kid dressing up and playing teacher but in this example she dressed up and acted out as if she was a skilled dog trainer.

Nogs Galogs NOPE. They have a specific job to do, not including training your dog. They can actually legally sue for overtime or performing tasks/jobs not in the job description. Which includes dog care

It's very nice that the housekeeper agreed to help them with training, but she absolutely didn't have to.

Honestly, with the way Rufus kept attacking him, it was only fair to re-home him as he was starting to attack back, she didn't want to but at the same time she didn't want to keep him in an unsafe environment should desensitizing to each other didn't work, yes they initially had Wolfgang as a protection dog ( guessing why they took in that particular breed ) but took up something else after understanding how they may not be able to handle him should he be a protection dog.
Hadn’t they originally planned on Wolfgang being a protection dog though?
Wolfgang should NOT be in that home...he's gonna learn bad habits and him being MUCH bigger is gonna cause SERIOUS harm.

I facepalmed so hard when she changed the command...These people have an expert and experienced dog trainer helping them..and once she leaves she decides "I can do it better to suit my own needs"...really?
I feel Victorias frustration, because I am also a dog trainer, I don't have nearly the years Victoria does, but I know what I'm doing, but this is honestly how my mother is with my dog, I tell her to say "leave it" my mom goes "DON'T TOUCH IT!" if I tell her don't repeat the command 50 times, she goes "But she listens to me when I do"..I SHOW her what to do, she decides "This is easier for me"...you want to scream at these kinds of people I tell you
I’m studying to be a trainer and this is the one thing that makes me flip out! One family member told me they felt patronised because I was correcting how they spoke to my dog
I am not even a dog owner or trainer but I understand that! What I think falls into that category is people that say you're wrong about something you are surely not wrong about and then after a week the same people come to you and tell you EXACTLY what you told them and believe you should be amazed that they're giving you this wisdom 😐

This woman seriously decided, after being taught how to properly train a dog right before her eyes by a professional dog trainer, that using "no" to apparently "tell the dogs that they're doing it wrong" was better instead?! That's one of the WORST ways to train. Don't tell the dog what NOT to do because there are a billion wrong answers and just one right answer! Rather than having your dog go through the checklist of whether they can do this or that or not, just freakin tell them to turn away! Goddamn...

I wish she would have listened to the husband or he could have been firmer about it. He was too nice, he knew what she was doing was wrong but he also knew she didnt want to listen.
If you look at his personality vs. her personality, I can see why he isn't stronger with her. You can tell she controls everything. He's well trained to keep his opinions to himself, she's likely stomped him down repeatedly for it.

I'm an aspiring dog trainer and I know I wouldn't have a job without people like this. But my God, they are so uneducated it's hard to believe.
Tbh, people should be using trainers to help train their puppies or rescue dogs in the proper way, not let them rule the house for 8 years then try and turn back time and talk to the trainer like they know everything. This family didn't even know that Wolfgang would grow up to be MASSIVE and are even training Wolfgang in bite work when they can't even get Rufus to stop biting or control himself at all. You'd think with all that money they'd be able to afford some pretty good dog trainers but instead they have to apply to this show for people who seriously need help and probably can't afford a good trainer in some cases.

I am a dog trainer and some folks can be difficult to work with. But -- when you get the people who really listen and appreciate what you teach them, and put it into practice, it's wonderful! And, of course, you get to work with dogs. 🐶🐩🐕

She already had Jojo and Rufus. Wolfgang is the puppy, Rufus is the French bulldog.

*All* dogs are "good," that is, well-behaved, when properly trained and socialized, starting at an early age. If not, they can be re-trained, as Victoria, and thousands of dog trainers and dog guardians worldwide, know and do.
Victoria makes dog training look so easy. It's not, though. And I think the average person isn't usually patient enough to train their dogs completely. It sucks. Maybe we need to worry about training the humans first.
As a dog trainer, I've realized that most of what I do is teach the pet parents how to train their dogs. Some do great, others not so much.
Mycel yes I’m 10 and have taught a random dog (the owner let me try and train her. She couldn’t get the dog to learn sit). Surprise surprise it works. You just have to be consistent and patient.
In a way it is also opening up the door for the humans to see into the mind of the animal. Paying attention to this makes the human make better choices all the time even is problem is completely different. Just apply the principle, that is why NO had to chance of working, even dog knows that it is meaningless command dog is thinking what does he/she want? ie no I should not walk on this rug, no I should not bite the other dogs, no I should come when called, no I should stop getting excited, etc. etc.

Years have shown us that a dog's bad behavior is because of his owner. When a trainer comes into your home and tells you keep using the same command because it will get confusing. Then you change it on your own & know she's filming you to watch your progress. Years of training has taught Victoria that consistency is key when training any dog.

When you get an expert in to help because your way AINT working and then you see their techniques work so you dismiss it all and go back to doing it ‘ your way’ WHICH WAS THE ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Ma’am, you’re the issue the whole time.

This lady makes no sense. They ask Victoria for help. Victoria teaches them a specific technique. Then the lady changes the technique for no good reason and acts like "oh man Victoria we need your help!!" as if she doesn't know what she did wrong. This wasn't just for simple obedience. This was to help prevent serious fights so you'd think she'd want to be as careful as possible with the training.
As soon as Jenny said "its easy going from here", I just knew everything was going to get messed up hahaha
I think it’s so interesting when people don’t train puppies because they think they can’t handle it. They have a lot of energy and the attention span of a gnat but if you can channel their energy they are little learning sponges! Yes they can’t handle more complex skills but you MUST train basics while they are malleable to nip bad habits in the bud. With these basics dogs can then build off them once they’re older and able to focus for longer. Coddling puppies leads to naughty behavior and a harder job for owners down the line.
Puppies actually tend to be easier to train in my experience. Only thing you have to remember is that they have a much shorter attention span, so training should be for about 3 to 5 mins multiple times a day rather than 15 to 20 mins a few times a day
victoria is a real people whisperer and an excellent diplomat. when confronted with another person's ego, she resorted to subtle conflict resolution and displayed her excellent intuitive and logical skills in human interaction. it takes real maturity to focus on desired results instead of being "right" or in "command". yay victoria!

I know the pain of dealing with a frenchie like that! My second one was a terror with my other until I started working with him daily, and catching the behaviors just how I learned from Victoria! We practice everyday and do it for fun sometimes just to make sure he always remembers!
I wish they went back to this family. I have a bad feeling about this relationship and the situation with the dogs. I doubt they could handle Wolfgang once he was an adult.

Why do people think it's ok to start on one thing and then flip it over to 'suit their needs' it's like educating children: keep it simple, consistent and have patience. If mummy and daddy aren't on the same page or is mummy is telling you off for something and then next day she's not it's confusing. You create uncertainty and uncertainty means lashing out.. At least I think it is. I don't even have kids, or a dog.
Can confirm, have a dog, no child, but had a LOT of uncertainty and inconsistency as a child and I lashed out a lot, I didn't understand and it made me frustrated so I lashed out, and if a dog gets frustrated, it is sometimes good, cause it can make them use their brain, but like you said, if you switch it up too much and too often, it will just cause them to lash out in negative ways.
If only lil' Rufus knew how MASSIVE that adorable pup - who's already much bigger than him - is gonna get one day (125-150 pounds) and how much he would be ENDED by Wolfgang if he kept that up, he wouldn't do it.

Yeah it's one of the creepiest couples I've ever seen. I get a big mail order bride/marriage for green card type vibe, but I can't say for sure obviously. She's so controlling and he's more like a child/son than a husband.

I give them credit for wanting to learn and improve. I am a pet sitter and dog trainer and if every dog were taken from incompetent owners, almost no one would have a dog. These people are caring and want to do what's best.

This happens a lot with some of my students. I try to explain, as Victoria does, why it is so important to be clear and consistent.
Omg, this lady frustrated the crap out of me by changing it and then acted like she knew what she was talking about..I hope she stays with the training..

Omg, this worked for my 4 month old amstaff puppy. I couldn`t believe but this was the first time that she actually showed restraint.
You could tell she (owner) wasn't very receptive to the intsruction when she said "turn" instead of "turn away". Tried to change it up then!

Too much hate on the comments. People make mistakes, they try knew things, and sometimes it's not the best. It was not clear why she changed the command, an this "don't say 'no'" is actually very debated between experts. I really like Victoria's videos because she has lot of creativity when dealing with problems. It's inspiring!
