    Why weren't snakes included in the analysis? They are super common!

      Because my focus is on comparing texts and archaeology. Since most sites haven't starting collecting bones of really small-boned animals using flotation until recently, it's an unfair comparison to make.
      Snake bones are underrepresented in the archaeological record due to biases we understand. Where we dig and how we sample for small bones

      ​@@FlintDibbleWill those biases change as to not lose even more important bone fragments of animal species, some of which might have gone extinct since then so it would be a great discovery to have more evidence of said extinct animal?
