Bucchigiri please 🙏
sydney is so important to the bear
@@Mustang-qr9ht Their last CotE reaction was 6 days ago. Calm down
Ooh. I see Blue Eye Samurai on the roster. That's gonna be fun
This series is nothing but STRESS 😭
Lupa will be stressing on episode 7 and christmas episode
Soooooo good tho
@@calictolentino3949I could literally hear myself breathe
Yet we love it...
I can never binge watch this. Need to pause every 5 mins to breath.. it soo good but its driving me crazy.
This show is like a perfect representation of my family it makes me love the show even more especially cause I'm from Chicago & have lived there my whole life & yes the characters can be dicks to each other but at the end of the day they do all love & care for each other in their own messed up way & you'll see it more as the show progresses.
Yes as guy who works in resort as a cook big buffet and party’s it’s pretty accurate in my experience
4:12 To my understanding, this is actually something chefs do all the time. They've had enough of making 'gourmet' stuff for the day and they come back home and decompress by making something as simple and stress-free as a pb&j
A PB&J smacks
well that and being a chef is not nearly as well paying as it should be especially at a place like the beef so you spend the day making delicious food and then go home eating on a budget.
Been a chef for 10 years, and all chefs universally have terrible diets, most people with a 9-5 cba to cook a decent meal when they get home, now try working 12+ busy hours, dealing with food all day, and comming home late, fuck cooking, grab a cheap take out or something frozen 😂
or we just go get something quick the gressier the better
Chef here. After a long anxiety filled day, serving top quality food and memories, all while not trying to murder an co worker who couldn't get their shit together for what ever reason. Microwaves ramen, with some crushed in dorito's or hot cheethos and a good ice cold beer, give me all the energy I need to actually fall asleep and enjoy it lol
A couple things about the beginning:
1. Yes, believe it or not, that is really how many head chefs behave in high-end restaurants. I've never experienced it myself, but I've heard from MANY people who've worked in that high-class food industry that yes, the people who run those kitchens have the dangerous combination of character traits of being super ego-driven and also mega-high strung, and many head chefs in those establishments will regularly treat their underlings with tons of verbal, psychological, and yes, sometimes even physical abuse (Gordon Ramsay once spoke about how chefs he had worked for would throw kitchen pots at his head on a bad day). It's a super-rough industry, and the reason people under them put up with it is because they worked so hard to get to that station in their career and don't want to jeopardize it by pissing off the wrong people. Also, make no mistake, some of those people could (and under the right conditions, would) literally kill you.
2. The last bit at the end where he says "you should be … dead" is supposed to be ambiguous as to whether it's him actually saying it, or whether Carmy is just imagining it because of his own guilt taking the form of his boss's internalized bullying.
I had a manager do a stress test on me in the middle of a service. For me though, I was bartending in our service well.
That explains why Gordon acting the way he acted in Hell's Kitchen.
Yes, studied in a culinary school this is how it is. I still remember forgetting to remove the spatula in my pan and my professor screaming at my face about it
Even at the chilis i worked at the manager would get into with cooks all the time and they always left! And then people would be on our tails because there is no one in the back to cook anymore ahhahah
@@supersucks Yeah Same, that shit breaks you
The Bear reinforced why I would never work in the food industry, be it fast food or fine dining. They don't get paid enough to deal with assholes in the kitchen and coming in as customers
I think it is important every one work in a restaurant. You learn why you should be nice to people that work shitty jobs
I worked at Wendy's for a few months and that shit was ruined by the customers and my manager being a piece of shit. Shit made me always remember to treat food service employees with appreciation cause that shit is NOT a good way of living
To be fair Carmy was also the only one who bothered to stay late and clean the place so I’d say he deserves some slack for the cigarettes on the stove.
"His eyes are crazy" We need to get Carmy and Richie some brown contacts or something.
Them two and Cillian Murphy
@@OP-Anime yes lmaoooo
Hope Lupa has enough dry towels prepared for that episode 😨🫨
He's not ready
I think the perspiration meter needs to come back for THAT episode...
In the beginning flash-back. My brother who work in high-end restaurant said that it also can be that Head chefs usually don't have to do the work anymore, and executive chefs ( in this case Carmy ) are the one running the kitchen and the crew, so in a way the head chef might have felt threatened and might have come at him from a place of insecurities.
Just to be clear, Carmy was Chef de Cuisine (thats the CDC they mention in ep1). Basically the one that handles whatever menu the Chef-Owner would hand him (and adding where they can) and actually runs the kitchen. CDC is also called head chef. An executive chef manages the kitchen and staff, much more of a behind the scenes role.

Bro the editor is a God. That soundbite of the Black man crying at 11:23 got me spitting 😂😂😂
Me too
This needs to be bumped up to twice or thrice a week. Once a week is torture!
LET HIM CAULK
“I know tons of people that cry out of nowhere.”
Says Carmy, the chef. The selection bias goes crazy!😂
So glad y'all are reacting to this, fucking love this show.
Much love!
They on s2 on Patreon
As someone who's been in the industry, the first scene is highly realistic. It has personally happened to me and it brought back those memories when I first watched that scene. I also used to have dreams that consisted of just the chit machine sound (the ticket order machine) and having my sous yell at me to make him a salad with ingredients I had in my fridge.
In Syd we trust.
Nah. Not season one Syd.
@@iceman10129 I beg to differ but they all grow in some capacity by the 2nd season, most of them in leaps and bounds.
As a former chef, a PBJ, Coke and chips is exactly what you eat at home. I'm not banging out steak au poivre and tuna livornaise all day to come home and do the same thing for free.
After watching Andor, it took me awhile to get used to Ebon (Richie) as a sandwich guy. Still wondering how Pete got into Urgent Care. Enter Uncle Jimmy.
I had the opposite! Watching Andor, I yelled “COUSIN!!!?” at my screen lol
@@eileenhinman1148 😂
Gojo is outrageous 😭
The opening scene Thats exactly how culinary school was for me literally happened to me while i was chopping carrots and i cut off my finger tip
Uhh we call then chefmares
I started watching after it got ALL the Emmys and Golden Globes recently, and I finished season 2 yesterday. It's one of the best shows I've seen in my 36 years. There's a couple of episodes in s2 that are complete masterpieces, in all of media.
Each episode is a roller coaster of emotions 😂❤
I used to work at Jersey Mike’s, sometimes opening up the store or working the evening shift. And almost every time I would be sleeping, I would have dreams of me constantly making bread for the sandwiches. And when I would wake up, I’m downstairs in front of my stove with my hands in the motion of putting the bread on the cooking sheet. Once I left Jersey Mike’s, the dreams stopped happening. So when I saw that scene when Carmy was cooking in his sleep, it brought back a lot of memories from time at Jersey Mike’s.
y’all so versatile wit the reacts always fire🙏🏾
I caaan't wait for Blue Eye Samurai. I'm doing laps around my room from excitment!!!
The stress of this show is calming. Makes me feel like i dont have to put myself through THIS to have what i have. It just is, and i gotta let it be.
10:24 Calling each other cousins is an Italian thing, to my understanding
Its more that Richie thinks of Michael as his brother and part of the family. He refers to "the family" a bunch in this show even though not being blood.
@@iceman10129 No it's def an Italian thing
I thought I could watch this show peacefully but so many episodes had me stand up, walk away and breathe for a while. Stress is the name of the game
I’ve worked food service, majority of my life and I can say firsthand. If you’ve ever worked high quality chef position it is very much like this a lot of people who work food service in the comments will agree with me when I say that this show is equivalent to a military man coming home And having PTSD no disrespect to them, but it is very much like anxiety written I can see myself having flashbacks of running around the kitchen, trying to fulfill an order in a hectic kitchen good some bad, and in someways it’s almost like a drug as much as I hate it, and it stresses me out, there’s a small part of you that misses it misses the rush
4:20 Most chefs are like that. Make the most incredible food at work, but then you get home and don't want to cook so you just grab something quick and easy.
I had a friend like that. He was an amazing cook but outside of work he never put in that much effort to cook for himself.
the bear is the definition of stress incarnate. I've never seen anything like it. there is action shows and then there is tension. just taught bear grip tension. this show drives me mad and makes my anxiety go bonkers
waiting for the snowfall video :(
Really appreciating those reactions for this amazing show, keep going
Wild seeing Joel McHale playing the psychotic head chef. You guys should watch Community!!
“can’t start at fucked” is a hard line
As someone who used to work in the restaurant industry, this show caused me a lot of stress - brought up a lot of memories lmao.
I don't know if you know him or not but the big guy in the hat with the mustache is a real big name chef named Matty Matheson
2:20 ive worked in the food industry for 5 years of my life from 18 to 23. This type of shit is used to test you as a person but dont get it twisted you have every right to defend yourself, i dont give a fuck what the plate looks like or how much money this buisness brings in.
The way I took my glasses off like I was gonna fight bro 😂😂😂
@@Lupasanlol
@@Lupasan yo lupasan when you dropping some more content man?
My mom was a chef when she was younger. Had all the proper training in France and all that, and then decided to become a teacher 5 years in. She's passionate about food but she's a positive nicer person by nature and the vibes were not it. Then she got her degrees in nutrition and now is a food supervisor for our region's hospitals. Cause she wanted hospitalized people to have good and nutritional food.
When will there be an episode about snowfall?
cant wait for you to react to ep7 and s2 ep6
I checked this show out after ya first episode reaction, I’m now patiently waiting for season 3. Calling this show just a comedy is an injustice. It’s Top tier.
Moment of appreciation for the insanely good episode intro animations 😌
Sheera crackin' up when this man literally falling apart took me out. 😭😭
Shameless meets Hell's Kitchen
Dam, this show is un-bearable. I'll see myself out
Professional chefs get sick of cooking and don't want to when they get home. From what I've heard, it's very realistic for a chef to go home and eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner or something similar. The professional chefs who reviewed The Bear said it's like that for them; one of my employees who is a cook at her other job, who hasn't seen the show, said that's totally on point.
Get rdy to be stressed TF OUT as each episode pass
“Surge rates fucko” is one of my favorite quotes from season 1 😂
Jeff's darkest timeline
Do yall go to premieres nd ruin the vibe by laughing at serious parts ? Or j watch shii at the house cuz yall laugh at everything 💀💀
such a MASTERPIECE of a show...yall cookin tho..LFG
The facial expressiona y'all were not ready for this episode
15:04 😂😂💀
Sheera eat taco bell she cant judge nobody eatin habits 😭 ms thumper dumper 💀💀
I am so sick of the unwarranted Arby's slander
The food industry is the worst these linecooks act all tough by how they talk but couldn't take a punch or throw one to save their lives LOL
Y'all really gonna make me go through this show again? Alright, here we go
As someone in the industry, yeah sometimes it's like this. A lot of the time it 's a petty low nothing and not the head honcho, but yeah sometimes........
"You should be dead *whisper" and Lupas reaction had me dead
Broooo I'm loving these reactions!!!!
It's gonna be hard to wait every week 😭
It’s a little exaggerated but the chefs I’ve worked with were pretty intense
I'm so glad you guys are reacting to the bear. Can't wait for Thursdays now.
Yes that’s exactly how it is
First thing i thought of in the cold open was Gordon Ramsey
The HELP THE BEAR is taking me OUT 💀💀
Great show!
Health Inspectors avoid Waffle house out of respect
You learn to love the chaos on this show and Syd came at the right time too
this what goes on behind the scenes when u at the drive thru
"What if it was cows making human meat," made my day!
I just finished Season 2 last night. They gonna fw this for sure
I need these two days out the week😭!
So nobody is going to Question Arby’s?
the crying at 11:26 😂😂😂😂 i still love you 😫😫😫😫
Sydney is amazing. I'm so glad to see that Ayo Edibiri is finally getting her recognition (and Emmy). She was in a LOT last year--"Bottoms", "The Bear"..
Speaking of actors, Richie also plays a character in Andor--which is a stunning show you should definitely check out. Star Wars, but it's espionage--and at least as well written, acted, designed, and shot as this show.
I need moreeeeeeeee
Not kicked off the line. Fired.
Nice
Bruh this show Chicago af
I'll tell you this: people who work at restaurants have dreams/nightmares where they're fucked in the weeds. That's just how it works, if you're in this industry you're signing up for nightmares where you're in the fucking shit during service
Chicago is NOT New York by any means, respectfully lol
Is this how they. Are.... Yes lol. As a past server at a high restaurant. Fuckin absolutely lol server/waiter staff too. Shit makes u hate life
As a Wisconsinite, I thoroughly appreciated his uncle comparing the restaurant's level of failure to the Bears. 😂
Like any place, yes you can run into ppl that are that brutal, but no it’s not generally the norm. During my internship I worked in a kitchen where the head chef always had a stock pot of boiling water, so that when he needed your attention he’d dip a spoon into the water and fling it at you.
This series summarized what it's like to run or work in a kitchen in a busy restaurant when everyone isn't on the same page or just life is not being cool.....
We still use punch cards, but the machine is broke so we just write on them. The machine has been broken for 5 years, the whole time I worked there lol.
Carmy wrong and strong
The crying through the phone y'all added after Richie said "I still love you" was perfect
Some people when you dream about peeing, you pee yourself in real life. Then theres Carmy.
hopefully one day you guys can watch the k-drama moving!! i think y'all would love it
On your state gov site you can search for the food grade of any food purveyor. In my state every waffle house is a big fat C.
"NINJA YOU WAS COOKIN' BOXES?!" Had me WEEEAK
Please don’t disrespect Arby’s
Unfortunately arbys disrespects themselves😭and ive heard so many arbys jokes from them especially roshi &sheera
No lie if an cow/chicken can cook human like that damn they be cooking
I am so glad yahll are having these reactions, just you wait.😂
