@@MorallyDubiousFrogYeah, but it’s crazy that she just never faces the consequences of her actions in this episode. She doesn’t apologize or acknowledge it or anything 😂
Y'all had me crying with the part about them not cooking with love. That's so true but some of the hood places have people with the worst attitude and great food so idk lmao
Don't know if it was already mentioned: Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebriri, And Ebon Moss Barchrach Won Emmy's couple of weeks back including Best Show of the Year.
I was a line cook for seven years and a sous for two. I’ve seen my fair share of kitchen hazing occur, when I was really green I dealt with it, when I was more experienced and had power in the kitchen I did my best stop it. It’s normal, and usually pretty harmless, like missing your onions for two minutes. But even though its “good fun” for most people in the kitchen, it just makes it more likely the one dealing with it is going to fuck up or lose their shit in the clutch, so it’s always best to cut that shit off when you can. What I have *never* seen is a deliberate act of culinary sabotage like what Tina did to Syd in this episode. I would fire anyone I saw deliberately and materially fuck over their fellow cook, on the spot. Losing your onions for two minutes is one thing, having to remake an entire stock is another. Not to mention the lost value of that stock, aromatics are one thing, but a place like The Beef being run by a guy like Carmy is likely using roasted veal bones for their beef demi-glacé.
Into The Spiderverse made me notice Board of Health ratings when Peter B Parker tells Miles that the burger joint is closed in his universe as the C rating is behind them 😂😂
This ep and the next were the ones that clicked to me. Like this show is truly something special coming. It felt so relatable in a slice of life sense. There are also signs that the characters and the restaurant as a whole are starting to change, from Marcus showing ambition based on Carmy's books to the ambience going from that piss color filter of the restaurant from the first episodes to the bright white bulbs. You all are in for a treat, and I'm happy to tune in when you upload.
The Bear is one of those rare shows that actually portray real stress and real emotion that reflect a crumbling working environment. The two people you hate are one of my top five characters because of how real they are by how they are molded with personalities because of where they are in life. Sydney's my favorite is because how much effort and energy she puts to her work even if it kills her. Passion is such a strong emotion, and watching the show drives me to go to work every single morning lol
Walking into the freezer to scream and cry is a foods service worker’s right of passage tbh idc what anyone says that industry is not for the weak of heart 😭😭😭
Also “people in chicago don’t put ketchup on their hotdogs” i guess, because i do sometimes if its the only condiment i have atm, but other than that ketchup is for kids m is the saying.
This would make for an excellent Kitchen Nightmares special. I can picture Gordon Ramsay just face palming in the presence of all the ruckus, cringing in pain.
In Chicago, just be glad they're yelling at each other and not you while you're ordering your food. Check out clips of the Weiner's Circle of you wanna see some real cursed energy.
Stepping into the walk-in to cry is such a vibe. Been there, girl, been there. And you guys got farther than I did. I got to episode 3 and tapped out haha. Couldn't do the tension and anxiety I felt. I wanted to fight half the characters, just start swinging. 😂
I been watching you guys for a brick now and I finally have to ask…WHO TF does you guys intro cuz it’s the hardest intro on TH-cam I swear! Dope graphics 🔥
3:13 Lupa is spot on for real, especially since both him and Roshi has Jamaican heritage, his statement about negative energy in the food and cursing while sharing the food is 1000x real. Jamaicans don't joke with food on the real. I don't like it if someone's putting bad vibez/or cursing at me while they're dealing with food around me.
Believe it or not. This episode was one of the few lighter ones lol. And in majority of kitchens, they do shit like thid to newbies. Not only because it's funny to those already use to it, but it also helps in breaking down cooks and chefs who are already use to what the books or their last jobs has taught them. It's just a reminder, that yea you did this and that, but your working here with us. And trust.... that humbling reminder is very frequently needed, and later appreciated. Depending on how hard you fought back ofcourse lmao. Straight up, line cooking isn't for the weak period lol. (Sorry had to edit to finish the comment. Dropped my phone like a dumbass lol)
Syd doesn't know about the veal fat because she's smart (which she obvs is). She knows because it was Carmy who cracked it and she knows everything he's done.
What Lupa is saying about negativity engery and food is spot on. There has been a scientific study that if you speak softy to a bottle of water. The water molecules will "harmonize" into a pattern. But if you yell at it the pattern will become chaotic. Now it could just be the vibrations casued by the sound waves. But idk sometimes being nice makes the rhings around you nice
Yall laughing but Lupa is right lol. There was a study that showed certain words (positive or negative) spoken into water changed its chemical structure, so I don't see why that can't be the same for food. And this show is stress. If I ever wanted to work in a kitchen I definitely don't now.
I don't know about you guys but i found that episode next season stressful and hard to watch... all i have to say is two words, family... dinner. I was almost gonna quit that episode from 10 minutes in
"There is a reason tou pray over stuff" that reason being that you were indoctrinated to believe that since you were a baby. You take that even further back then you realize that the real reason you pray is because at some point in history your ancestors were beaten enslaved and shamed into believing their masters religion...😂😂😂
Nigga she has good intentions and tries to not step on anyone’s toes lmao. Only thing that you can fault her for is her competence being perceived as condescending.
Lupa getting pressed about negative cursed energy in his food is making my stomach hurt from laughing 😭
i mean all you gotta do is poor some reverse cursed energy in there and its good as new
Bro was dead serious 😂🤣
He really be on that food energy knowledge bad energy, bad food and good energy, good food
My local pizza owner always used to call me boss, that was enough to make me stick around. Good energy!
No wonder Sukunas Malevolent Kitchen was so deadly lmao 🤣
