    Thank you for spreading the good news about this amazing camera! I was using a Fuji X-T3 + Ninja V, but decided to sell my Fuji gear and get a used Sigma fp. Best camera I've used since the original BMPCC! With the Ninja V ProRes RAW I'm getting amazing 12-bit color, with no chroma sub-sampling, and that is the thing that struck me most, the color is far better than any 10-bit camera you can get, and just kills the Sony. And the best part about ProRes RAW? You can edit 4K in FCP on a MacBook Air without any difficulty!

    I have xt1 and love it,the xt1 is not a movie camera for sure. I'm shopping for good video cam; the blackmagic looks tempting, but the speed boosters are too much money, ' the fp can take on any lens with simple inexpensive mount. I read the colors from FP are for real, what you see is what you get.

    Bought a second hand GH4 and an Atomos Ninja V.
    I will keep this for a year or 2 to get my moneys worth out of it and then will part ex my kit including lenses for a Sigma FP and add lenses to.
    I was thinking if Sigma could have a lens mount that is not an L mount but have a removable mount, so say you have EF lenses or L lenses or Nikon lenses. You could get your camera with the mount you need when you buy it.
    I don't like getting adapters as the more glass you introduce, the more problems you get.

      For video-centric and social photo, FP will be a better choice, but for landscape shoot, this is debatable as it would depend on the resolution you would like to have. Personally, I think 24mp is good enough unless you are printing wall-size photos and standing a meter away looking at it.

    Is the Sigma FP still worth getting considering it's almost the year 2024? I'm in the market for an affordable 4k cinema camera and I can get a used one in excellent condition with a 45mm Sigma lens for around $1,350. Likewise I can get a brand new Sony FX30 body for around $1,400. My concern with the Sigma is the huge file size so I'll need an external SSD, at least 2TB and probably a case/camera cage so there's some additional costs there with the Sigma.

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both are good options but it depends how you are filming. For drama and low light scenes that use manual focusing, go for Sigma fp camera assuming of course you have the lens system to support it. If you are doing run and gun and depend alot on autofocus to do your shot, go for Sony fx30. However, if I were to do it all over again, I would get a Panasonic S5IIX.

      Stuffing more pixels onto a camera sensor takes away it's low light performance. The photo files become huge and the only good thing about it is the fact you can crop it 3x and still get a sharp image. Guess it's good enough if you do landscape photography or architecture 🤔🧐🫡

      I am waiting for Sigma to add more features to their current camera like 240 fps 1080p or 10bit 422 in .mov codec. More improved focus system in movie mode. That is all. No need Version 2. Sigma like Fujifilm improve their old system regularly. I like that.

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It records RAW internally. Record into fast SD card at 1080p 12 bit 444 RAW cDNG. If you hook up an external SSD like Samsung T5 SSD drive via usb-c it will store 4k 12bit 444 RAW cDNG file there. The RAW is done in camera but store in external SSD for 4k videos. I know that sounds amazing, and it is.

    There is so much wrong with this camera - watch Gerald Undone when he takes a really honest look at it from an experts point of view. Not recommended - lots of reasons.

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on how you use it. For me, it is the best budgeted full-frame 12bit 4k RAW DNG low light video camera that goes hand in hand with my Sony FS700r with Shogun Inferno that also record 12 bit 4k RAW DNG. A match made in heaven. That is why I don't listen to Gerald Undone. Technical inferior than Sony a7siii but 1/3 the price and the specs that fit my style of filming- Perfect.
