    This is an outstanding presentation, which is the best and clearest I've found on the Internet. Extremely nice job. Your explanations helped me significantly in enabling me to set up my new a7rv. Thanks so much. Even though Sony has improved its menu system, I still think that Sony needs to do lots of work to make its system workable. It is extremely difficult to follow instructions regarding making custom settings.

  • @irvinggreines822
    @irvinggreines822 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    As I said in a comment posted yesterday, your presentation is crystal clear and without gimmicks It truly helped me get a handle on all the options available on the Sony a7Rv. Without your assistance, I would have been lost. I have a question: When shooting in face/eye priority autofocus, is there an easy way to toggle the focus between multiple faces appearing in a scene? I know that touch autofocus can accomplish this, but using this method is difficult when the EV is being used. It would be great if there were a custom key option that enabled skipping from one face to another upon the push of the custom button. Thanks.

    Wow! So much great content! And I really like the way you used Jennifer and Darth Vader figures to demonstrate focusing! LOL! Very clever. I have had multiple Sony cameras and for each one I rely heavily on the excellent instructional videos by Mark Galer. Yet it was so helpful to also view your video. You approach it differently and cover slightly different settings. And you both explain things differently. So even though I have set up my a7r5 leveraging my experience with other Sony cameras and Mark Galer’s videos I still chose to change/refine a number of settings based on this video. Most helpful! BTW, I learned of this video from a Facebook group for a7r5 owners. Lots of people on that group who are new to Sony and/or the a7r5.

    This is such a great tutorial! Thank you so much for doing it. One thing that I do to all my Sony cameras, that might be interesting to other users, is set the Fn button to "rating" in Payback mode. That way when I am viewing the photos onsite, I can quickly rate favorites to 4 stars and pull them up by rating in Lightroom when I get home. I so appreciate the part about assigning a custom button to memory recall numerous settings. That is the first time I have seen that and it worked on my A1. I ordered the A7RV today and that is what brought me here. Thanks again!

      Thank you for your little tip! I always think the last photo of the same layout will be the one I use, but sometimes that’s not the case and I’m always going back and forth on Lightroom which photo I wanted to use

      You have nice toys. I can only afford to have a used Sony A7R3. But it is good enough for me since I am not a professional as others like you. Heck, the A1 is like owning a Rolls Royce!

      I agree, this is a great tutorial. I have learned quite a bit by following this video. Thank you for putting together the time and effort putting it together.

    That was great, thank you very much. Feels like only a starting point though 😅 Going to take a minute to wrap my head around this camera. My last was a Nikon D3200.

    Awesome video that proves what I've heard before about Sony menu system. I can't imagine what Sony users have been going through before the new menu. Whatever I used before, Pentax K-1, Fuji X-T4, I was always able to intuitively figure out how to allocate RAW files to a card slot and JPEG files to the other card slot. With the A7RV, I really needed this video. Thanks for that.
    I will watch it again, rest assured.

      Many thanks for your kind feedback. These menus are tricky. I shoot A7 cameras for years and thought, when I worked my way through the settings of this new camera, why not sharing ... :)
