Just a quick heads-up to add some news out of Sigma today that they are readying a massive v2.0 firmware update, addressing some of the initial issues and criticisms from user's feedback since it's original release, and adding some very interesting new features including:
    - SDK Support Software for third-party developers and apps' integration.
    - Support for CinemaDNG 120/100fps (FHD 8bit) internal recording.
    - Improved performance and video recording capabilities.
    - Improved AF operation in C mode.
    - Cinemagraph functionality.
    - Still image shooting during live view.
    - Expanded movie shooting in Cine mode.
    - HDR stills and video.
    - Director’s Viewfinder direct recording function.
    - Improved SD Card compatibility and write/read speeds for expanded internal recording modes and capabilities.
All-in-all this is great news and I feel all current and future users of this camera can look forward to the update, supposedly within the next 2 to 3 months. This will hopefully by the start of a new lease on the camera's life and long-term wider success and market acceptance moving forward.

Seriously considering picking one of these up to take over video duties from my Panasonic S1R.
Chris - do you know whether it is possible to tether the fp for still photography? I have a very peculiar workflow due to the equipment I use. I need the camera to save a jpg to a watched folder on a computer. Then, when I've finished setting up the shot, I would simply flip to video mode and shoot video (to be saved to SSD drive connected directly to the fp - I know this will require a cable swap, but don't mind that).
If it can't tether, then my only option would be to tether with the S1R to set up the shot, and then swap the camera body out and replace with the fp. This may sound very weird, but I have a unique set-up!

I restrained from buying a7III (used) because plagued shutter issues complains on internet. It is sigma fp a wise choice on 2022 for 1.550 (body + 45mm lens on B&H) ? Also you can’t compare 4K footage on an a7iii in crop Mode to even close to 4k in full frame your only using half of the sensor, But great video.

Funniest thing about the Sigma FP:
I am working in Hong Kong and you simply cannot give the Sigma FP cameras away of your lofe depended on it, no joke! You can literally find them EVERYWHERE on second-hand camera shops and dealers.. everywhere! Sold like new for pennies on the dollar most of them in original box just a couple months old.. or weeks.
Some go for much less than half of original price in 100% new condition, all papers and new warranty included. Basically, new or used, no one wants to get close to them. Quite frankly, I knew since Sigma's announcement that it would be a flop.. it's simply too small and become ridiculously unbalanced by the time you add just about any lens to it (and let's not even talk about matching it with Cinema lenses which looks ridiculous). Plus full of quirks and compromises, misses on features that everyone wants (some of them very obvious and basic), uses a lens mount for which natively there are almost no lenses.. the list goes on.
But yet, as a concept, I always thought Sigma was bold and courageous and it's spec sheet includes surely some impressive features. I've actually been thinking to get one for myself just to try it out and I consistently find all images I see coming out if this camera to be really, really good.
    Thanks for the video :)

Interesting design?! LOL. SMH! I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole, got zero character.

It's the world's smallest full frame camera that takes interchangeable lenses. All cameras now are just black rectangles with a sensor.
Sure it definitely doesn't have an interesting design but neither does just about any other so I'm not sure what you want here.

@@tom.mp4 Are you kidding me?! ?World's smallest FF mirrorless camera looks really stupid with the kinda big lenses that they keep coming up with. The going down in size theory about mirrorless is total garbage! They keep coming up with optional bottom addons to make it more weighy and holdable. Secondly ergonomics is important for the user .. just having a black/silver box is just ridiculous. This entire phase currently is a joke .. hope we move on to something more appealing, user friendly and really good with the technical aspects. Most cameras don't even last a year before they start to look stupid if you ask me. Please do not ask me to name names as there is just way too much stupidity out there.
