Im also a social worker and I'm looking for another job. I've been working for my state for 7 years (right out of college) and have the "job security" , but I don't love it anymore. I agree the hardest part about leaving is the people that you build relationships with. I think this video was my push to step out on faith and look for something else. Thanks!!

You're an inspiration. I chose to go into the medical field but my dream has always been to work with the youth, either as a social worker or special education teacher. I plan to volunteer, anything to make a difference.

I just graduated in may with a social work degree and I now work for the city as a cys worker and im so happy because I have good benefits and will be able to retire after 25 years and im only 23.Thanks for this video I plan on getting my masters and becoming a supervisor one day!

I work in database management, and have been in the school setting since becoming a mother, and it does make a world of difference to know that you have some flexibility in schedules. And yes, those monthly days off and snow days will be vital! Super happy for you!
Great Video! I have my BSW... instead of pursuing my MSW I am now getting my Graduate in Public Health Management and Administration. I work as a Health Coordinator for a school program at large Non Profit. I really enjoy the mixture of Health, Social Work and Education! Love you career path. Best of luck!

FYI, even with your Ed.S, you would still need a minimum of 5 years as an actual classroom teacher compounded with another credential specifically giving you a school principal license in order to transition into a Principal or Superintendent. Just thought I'd share that in case you weren't aware. Great video, and very professional.

I work for the State/DSHS. I live in Washington. I want to move to Dallas Texas. What do u think is the best steps to gain employment in Texas in the Social Work field. Do you recommend a master's?

I used to be in the health field working as a Medical Assistant and administrative assistant. Now leaping into this field, I find myself having so many interests in so many different areas of social work. Do you have any advice on how to choose?? I know you only get a limited number of internship experiences so I want to be strategic in making my choices. Right now, with no experience and just doing research, I am interested in several areas including immigration, working with schools, forensic social work and private practice. I hope to get as much experience in school as possible. Should I start reaching out to facilities now for internship opportunities?

I would recommend psychology and sociology courses.. my college has human development major which ties in with social work I would recommend asking a academic advisor at your college
