      did this come from styko? I remember a video on nuke where he was showing how to play ramp on ct side and showed an angle under heaven near the ladder where you could spot the shadows of enemies if they were scaling up to heaven from outside

    I though everyone knew that flashes are higher and sharper off walls, While smokes are deeper and duller, and nades are less dull than smokes but just as deep

    Hey voo, about smoke covering defusing sound, the theory I learned was the sound of a fire being distinguished would cover the sound of defusing, either throwing a moly into a smoke or the reverse.

    Funny that usp shots do more damage on the legs, but an awp only do 85

      is not funny, is realistic. You have kevlar on your body wich means Pistol bullets don't penetreat that ez, so in leg you have more damage cause you do not have kevlar. And with the awp who have a better penetrate ratio in kevlar you die cause it hit's your vital organs, and in the leg you survive cause it only damages your leg. (in real life if you are shooted by an awp in the leg you wouldn't be able to walk anymore but you would surivive)

      @@AnthonyShuker you have massive veins and arteries in your legs that run along your femur. If you rupture one from a bullet wound, you will very quickly bleed to death. FYI

    Chicken block flashes was surprisingly the only one I didn't know. I guess that's what years of watching 3kliks does to you.
    Bonus tip: doors are the only objects that can move a dropped C4

    It really helped, thank you. I'm sure there a lot more of these myths that needs to be busted or even re-busted because it's been so long since youtubers analysed the game in this way. So one more vid wouldn't hurt. I've played for 8 years and the thought of shooting someone in the legs with a pistol has never ocurred for me.

    A cool myth, not just about scouts but scopes in general, is that if you open console, type something, highlight it, move it on the screen while closing the console, you can actually gain a crosshair in the shape of a box constantly following the middle of the screen meaning you can more accurately noscope.

    Smokes themselves dont mask a defuse, but if you drop a smoke on the bomb and throw a molly on the smoke and defuse at relatively the same time, its extremely hard to hear

    7:32 To be precise, if you are moving at less than 34% of the weapon's maximum speed, you are completely accurate. That figure isn't really well published, and I don't know why, but it's easy to verify with sv_maxspeed.

    "More damage to the back" - that myth is from CS:S, but there it is true. Face the bomb everytime, when explode ;-)

    I once got oneshot by a nade, that was one of the most confusing moments I've had playing this game. I just sat there for a good 5 mins trying to figure out how I died.

    7:38 actually it's the molotov fade on smokes that really mask defuse sounds.

    I play this game so much I was able to close my eyes and name each of the grenades he threw, the smoke has a slightly lower pitched sound than the flash

    4:15 the closer the HE to the head the higher the damage;
    Also 10:25 I thought there was a randomness to it. Can you really hear the jump every time? (Here is styko talking about hearing it about 80% of the time: th-cam.com/video/6Hv7pP-gI5c/w-d-xo.html)

      yeah I think it's a % of the time but during testing it seemed like it was 100% sure so I just kinda went with that

      Heyya Voo, did you test it only around vents on Nuke? I think that part might be different, from what Styko said.
      I also heard someone talking about how materials can change the sound, that might have been patched tho

      @@vooCSGO I heard b4 that it depends on the specific location ur jumping, not the surface but like different spots on maps even with the same textures some will have sound and some wont

    I know im a bit late, but there is a command in custom servers that slows down time, allows you to do those specific timing things a lot better (like shooting at a nade mid air) if you ever need to do something similar in the future

    The smoke pop sound definitely used to hide the sound of defusing, but I remember them changing that in some update.

      I remember this as well. This is why old-school players remember it. It used to be true, and Valve didn't like it. There was little way to tell if the bomb was being defused or not.

    Regarding legshots,
    Leg is not protected by armor. Leg takes 80% of base (unarmored chest) damage. Meanwhile, most guns have lower than 80% armor penetration rate.
    As a reference,
    USP-S has 50% armor penetration
    M4A4 has 70% armor penetration
    AK-47 has 77.5% armor penetration
    AUG has 90% armor penetration

      @@kugelblitz-8614 they really did it dirty. I think the best way to nerf it would be to make the firerate 10 (like the ak) and reduce the scoped-in accuracy. Like it makes more sense this way because it's more accurate than the ak and also has 100% armor penetration

    10:33 You are silent if you do the jump bug, it also gives good velocity (about 300) for a couple quick bhops. So, your 1st jump isn't silent, but the other ones are and wven the landings are.

    Wow it such a tiny difference between smokes and flashes, btw there is a way to make that smoke cancel the defuse sound I'm pretty sure, its gotta be timed perfectly or then its when the smoke just scrapes the ground, I've lost a couple rounds because of this, sorry voo, awesome video as always but only this one requires just a tiny bit more perfection

    The nades dealing more damage at the top than bottom is because player location is based on either the centre of mass or the head, can't remember which, so on the floor it'll always be like 1m away while in mid air it has a chance to be much closer.

    For the smokes to mask defuse sound you need to throw a moly into it. The pshhh sound from when the moly gets cancelled by the smoke will mask the defuse sound.

    If you jump off a ledge or scaffolding, the instant you hit the ground you are full accuracy...
    Also shotgun used to have full accuracy while on ladders but I think that's no longer the truth.. but wanted to put it out there because maybe only the pump has full accuracy vs the auto shotty.

    Im pretty sure its only the groin that does more damage than upper body. Not sure about the exact armor pen values for pistols, but legs get 75% and groin 125% damage compared to upper body with no armour.

      The point is that most players on pistol rounds will have armor. With such a low penetration weapon like the normal pistols the armor will absorb more than 25% damage, so shooting the legs will do more damage simply because armor doesn't apply to legs.

    The flash vs smoke bounce sound difference is underrated
    I see way too many people turn from the sound of a smoke bounce while me being a musician with good ear training don't
    Still get confused sometimes about the nuke A/B site plant though

      people with perfect pitch wont struggle with that cuz bomb ticking sound is different on A and B

      @@snappypenguin7891 I don't have absolute pitch but very good relative pitch and can instantly recognize smoke vs flash bounce. So I don't think you need perfect pitch for that.
      I've never actually tried to distinguish properly between the A vs B site ticking sound and this scenario only happens on nuke which I've played maybe 10 times ever.

    nice video i wish you wouldve done awp quickscope vs noscope accuracy cus i personally feel like noscoping while ur crouching is more accurate then quickscoping while ur crouching(only put crouching cus yk theres no inacurracy so its raw data)

    2:48 they never did different damage without Armor as you can see in this video from 2014 (watch?v=MbDkyndlQGk - same damage with no Armor) but the Molotov did more damage against Armor than the Incendiary because it ignored the Armor I believe but I don't know if they fixed that.

      pretty sure that's not a 'bug' but something Valve and the CS:GO team intends to have. It makes sense for the attackers ( T's ) to have higher damage molly.

    Smoke and flash is the same sound but different pitch. At least that's what my ears register.

    usually u cant see enemies through doors. But its buggy and sometimes u see. You just need to pay attention more like me on the radar to the level where ure dying becouse of starring too much at radar not on the surroundings xD

    To add the whole "USP does more damage to the leg" thing: It's true for all guns with less than 60% armor penetratio - *USP-S, P2000, Glock-18, Dualies, Nova and MAC-10* . Dividing the 0.75 damage multiplier for hitting the leg by the 1.25 damage multiplier for hitting the abdomen gives us the 0.60 = 60% I just mentioned. In other words, a gun with 60% armor pen (like the MP9) will do the same ammount of damage to the abdomen (0.60 armor pen x 1.25 hitbox multiplier x damage) and the legs (1 due to no armor x 0.75 hitbox multiplier x damage).
    Likewise, any gun with less than 75% will at least do more damage to the legs than to the upper body. Guns included in this category are the cheap pistols (

      It's hard to justify going for the legs though because landing at least one headshot will cut your TTK down much more significantly. Basically only very niche situations in a pistol round would be the times it might be useful like when they're defusing with their back against you like shown on the video.
      Also, is the scout still a one shot to the stomach when not wearing armor whereas a chest shot will deal something like 80+ damage?

    bruh i thought changing weapons made sound because in my first 100 hours of csgo people peeked me whenever I had my knife or nades out, but then I now I realized that they were just hackers.

    It's a fun one for me---people used to say this all the time back in 2014/2015.

    Fun fact! The molotov does more damage than the incendiary grenade (because the headshot with the molotov does 3 damage against 1 damage with the incendiary grenade :) )

    It's crazy to imagine that the developers had to make choices about all of those topics and so many more and that there are parts of the code where those things were implemented...

      They didn't, a lot of this just happen as a result of some other code in the game. Not all of it was specifically implemented it just happened to work that way and they kept it

      @@kingreinhold9905 well, they're not. For example, two mollies stacking damage isn't implemented. The mollies are made to give a certain amount of damage every tick, when there's two mollies they will stack since the game code doesn't have anything stopping that. That's not an implemented thing, that's just how it happened to work because of how they made the Molly damage work in the first place

You could argue both ways, either fire is fire and should do the same damage, on the other hand, if two mollys were bought and thrown at the same spot, they deserve to do double damage... I can imagine, that they had meetings talking about this topic

    you can do a silent jump with a jump bug right? jump crouch and uncrouch right before you hit the ground and it registers you as just on the ground not landing.

    you can mask the sound, if after the smoke, you put a molo inside the smoke ( who instant extinguish the molo, and that noise is louder than the defuse ) if you doing right, and the T is not too close, you have a great chance he can't ear the diffuse sound

    quick switching while reloading does not reload the gun faster and you take less damage from the bomb exploding if you jump when the bomb goes off.

      @@nikolaieuTTV You'd probably have to test it, but I can see it being true. It probably depends on the relative position of the bomb compared to you. If the bomb is below you jumping will probably put you further away from the bomb thus taking less damage, but if the bomb is above you then jumping will only make you closer to the bomb so jumping will probably hurt you more.

      it doesn't reload the gun faster but it skips the animation and the sound that comes with it which can be crucial in some situations (when the opponent is approaching you, for example).

    @voo csgo I have one that should be simple to test. If you're running in a straight line for long enough, the Deagle's first shot is accurate, almost 100% accurate, while still running and without stopping. I've discovered this and used it a few times in matches by now, and it seems to work. I haven't extensively tested it though.

      @@Toxxyc That would be easy to test, you just have to enable a dynamic crosshair or enable the setting that shows your inaccuracy like how voo does in this video when he discusses the scout.
      But it's certainly not true. If you're running in a straight line your accuracy is determined by the speed of your movement. If you just constantly run you'll move at a constant velocity and your accuracy wont change while you're moving.

      @@every116 Yep, which is why I guess it's worth testing it. I'm not sure if it's true, but like I said, I've nailed some perfect headshots with the Deagle while running, and it seems to happen more often than just "lucky shot", so I'm wondering if there's not more to it.
