I like all of your upgrades. My suggestions are:
Install a toilet paper holder to the inside of the door where you store the toilet paper.
Add the TV to the front of the door of your closet. You can get a very thin flat panel, and put the tuner inside the closet.

Great video so far sir. I'm 12:30 in and I had an idea for you.... Put a small tp roll on the inside of the cabinet door. When you need it, open that little cabinet door and have a nice little tp dispenser.
Anyway, that was my random thought, back to your video 😁

Thank you Robert! I am posting from my home in Pa. near Hershey. Winter is slowly creeping in as we already had snow before Thanksgiving. So, it is good to hear and see your vehicle descriptions in Florida where the weather looks incredible. The truck looks nice. Thanks again for my me feel a little warmer by this Florida video.

When trailers have THAT type of tire problem, it is most often due to axle problem (even from factory). It either needs an 'adjustment' or is bent. Maybe "Pelican" is the name for truck? Thanks for the 4yr progress report. You do an awesome job. Keep up the great work.

    • @TravelingRobert
      @TravelingRobert  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@TravelingRobert I just caught up to some of KYD KeepYourDayDream videos and noticed they found same issue on their RV. They recently returned from travelling 4months and 11,219 miles up the West coast Arizona to Homer Alsaka and back). Search their youtube channel title "The KYD cabin but first an axle problem" not necessarily the WHOLE video but first several minutes, and then 20:40, and also advice from their other video title "tear down checklist". Last year I think "I Love RV Life" channel or "Hebards Travels" had the same issue too, and they made video about how they got it fixed.

How about making a "How to get started" video for people who just bought an RV. Things like getting ready to travel; fill up the RV with gas and propane, fill the water tank, list of essential items such as RV toilet deodorizer, trays to hold your items while traveling, water hose and other nice to haves. Identify things to look out for also.

I was thinking they both were a little crooked on the frame..but didnt make sense to me why both tires on the same axle weren't wearing instead of just one side..your theory makes more sense to me..odd though 1 side on 1 axle and the other side on the 2nd axle....like Robert says is what it is...would drive me nuts though if it were mine...lol

Seems like we never get exactly what we want, but your mods look like they work great for what you do. Here something that works well to keep your waste tanks clean and the sensors working.
“After you dump your black and gray tanks get some Rid-X (from Wal-Mart) and put a 1/4 Cup in each tank along with 10-15 gallons of water. Drive to your next stop and drain. The Rid-X will clean the sensors. If you do it periodically it will keep them working for a longtime. Rid-X is used in Septic Systems to keep build up down.”

I have the same trailer, but 2013. My black tank idiot light always says FULL (4 lights) so I bought a wand you put down through the toilet and it spins water around to clean off the walls inside the tank to hopefully get the stuck toilet paper off the wall which is most likely stuck over the sensor. Have not gotten around to doing it yet as I have been so busy traveling, but I will let you know how it does. Hope to see you again at the RTR.

Suggest just replacing solar panel with 325 watt panel and get deep cycle or lithium battery replacement. Also noticed you could put some insulation in the basement storage to help from loosing cooling or heating through bed. Just thoughts. Thing I did in my camper. You can also put in access door from inside for items you need to get to faster than others.

Different campers have different lay outs. I went from a 8ft vanguard without a bathroom to a 10ft western slide in truck box camper and I actually have way way less storage in the bigger camper. The vanguard was very nice with the bunk bed I could fold down and neatly store all my clothes on the top bunk with the couch underneath and table. The western has one small closet for all my clothes and nothing else besides a few drawers. Nice bathroom with a shower but I really have to add a large storage shelf like my vanguard had for clothing. Living in Canada in the rocky mountains we only have 5 months of camping off the grid so air-conditioning and a furnace are not really needed. My camper has a nice radiant propane heater added on so I can boon dock for around 3 days on my 4 batteries without any generator needed

Does your 1 solar panel keep your fridge cool when your traveling during a day long travel day? I was already debating on getting 2 panels. Is there a reason you are thinking to expand yours to two? • @TravelingRobert

It pulls great, even in the mountains, at least me 19 foot trailer. My only complaint so far is the technology. Too much of it not the best implementation. Built in WiFi sounded like a great idea except that it doesn't work all the time. Having a nice head unit is great except when it crashes. Everything is dependent on the software even the A/C fan speed. Android auto, good concept except that everything takes more clicks hence more dangerous while driving...etc.

Black Tank Sensor ... you have TP stuck on sensors you need to fill black water tank 1/2 full with water add 2 cap fulls of Colgone and 1 cap full of Tide or ERA drive around a few hours then rinse your tank should clear your sensors ...also the bio method ( Calgone / ERA and a gallon of water ) works so much better then blue stuff for breaking things down ... By the way nice choice on Truck for towing small camper :) great videos !!!

The black water tank sensors show a false level because the inside of your tank has a bunch of "stuff" still clinging to the walls. You can get a pro to flush it out with a high pressure water probe designed specifically to thoroughly clean it out. Or you can try buying one of the aftermarket attachments that supposedly do the same thing. But they typically don't work all that well based on what I've seen online.

Thanks for update on batteries. Going to golf cart batteries. Particle board separating on mine also. Covered with black eternabond. Also covered all caulking on roof with eternabond. My tank sensors don't work either. Normal. Lot of updates I'm going to do. What is size of generator you run with soft start. Champion 2000w wont start mine. Same color truck as my new f250. 27ftr pulling with Hensley. Travel 15k per yr. Just put Zep floor wax on. Loosing shine in Florida. Replaced several decals also.

I hope you have better luck with your Colorado than I did. I have a MM2106DS and used a Colorado V6 with the full factory towing package for towing. The first year I had no major problems, however, year two my travels took me through areas where I was encountering far steeper roads and higher elevations than I encountered in my first year. The Colorado could JUST make the grades, many times I was going significantly less than the speed limit by the time I reached the top of the grade. Other times my acceleration was so slow that I was slowing down highway traffic. I decided that for peace of mind I should get a tow vehicle with a V8 to ensure comfortable, stress free towing. Before I bought the Colorado, which I bought because of the 7,000 lb towing capacity, I had a Chev. Blazer with the V6 which was rated for 4,300 lbs, which of course was not sufficient to tow the MM2106DS, I should have realized that no matter what GM claims the motors of those two vehicles are very similar. I bought a Chev Silverado with the 5.3 V8, now I can tow up steep hills and am no longer pushing/taxing the motor, in fact I can honestly say I hardly know I am pulling a trailer and also no get better gas milage that I did with the Colorado. I do miss the size of the Colorado, but now I feel I can safely tow my trailer and no longer impede other drivers. I hope you have the diesel version Colorado, I heard that there is a significant difference between towing with the V6 and the diesel versions.

Robert, buy a spare vvt solenoid for your glovebox or toolbox. And change the oil & filter religiously. Like the truck, but the diesel's mpg is impressive. Enjoy the videos...

Another way to clean sensors in black tank: add to tank, one cup each, Dawn dish soap and Calgon water softener ( find near laundry detergents). Fill tank and let stand for 2 - 3 hours. Flush tank then fill and check sensors as tank fills. Repeat if sensors still indicating wrong with empty tank.

Get the "Clearview" towing mirrors. Worth every penny of what they charge. After you install them (very easy) you will be amazed at how nice it is to have proper towing mirrors. Safer also.

Hi Robert. I'm new to your channel and catching up the clips.
Did you name your truck yet? I love the color of the truck. It looked great with ocean in the background. I've not yet been to Florida, but have been to Hawaii several times. I love tropical weather with a nice ocean breeze.
You always seem to have a cool vibe about you. I mixed that with the color of your car like an ocean breeze and suggest you name the truck...
    Cool Breeze!

The alternate nickname I thought of was based on the truck color and how I like warm tropical water and it's amazing blue color...

Great video and changes you made. Hey if you have problems with stuff like the fan you should at least email them with your problem so at minimum the can fix the issues/update product and maybe they’ll replace it for you (good company would),but maybe you did. Thanks for the video👍

Robert, if your tires are wearing on the trailer have you ever had your axles looked at. Ours was wearing on the outside the Tow -in was extremely off. Had to align the axle. That may be the problem. But I'm not sure.

Best mod you made was taking out that awful prehistoric dinosaur dinette and putting in an office desk! Excellent choice! I did the same thing. An utter waste of space to have a dinette and I have no idea why modern RVs still do this. Are you listening Winnebago, Thor, Fleetwood, Coachmen, etc?
Love the office desk! Very functional. I put a small dresser from IKEA under mine for clothes. Nice way to divide the two spaces. Thanks for the tour!
