@@aurnknight2813 the only thing I can think of is when Gadolt used his face mechon to protect the party from the explosion inside the Mechonis. He was posed pretty much the same
"Who's my fav boy and girl".... I mean, the titles "Oh no Jin's hot" and "Moraq could step on me" says so much
Amalthus to me does such a good job at portraying his hatred and misery of the world and the races in it, never ever have been able to forgive it after it took his mother from him at the young age, trying to live and do decent through it still but through seeing the war and its many casualties, having to help the constant and increasing refugees and war orphans and even those that he did try to help only continued in his distrust and hatred of the race with one he saved killing and stealing an entire family and living another child orphan like he was would hurt anyone, and so he went to try to meet the architect only to basically being rejected at the door as the hatred inside of him even managed to scare the god of the world he no longer had a reason to hide it.
That, and his title and theme being called "The acting god" is a pretty baller title and name.
Such a good character (even if I hate him a bit).
The worst is that I share a bit of his hate about the world. Espacially with the news of 2022.
This chapter is crazy. When I first played this and Zeke said “They sell em’. Line up the cores with pretty pictures of the blade inside”, I lost it. Xenoblade ain’t a game, it’s a work of philosophy.
It's such a small yet important scene. It does a lot for world building. The implications are... Disgusting.
Xenoblade 2 is a reflection of our real world. It doesn't seem like it at first, but when you get down to the details, it's eerie how much the themes reflect our reality.
The last few chapters of XC2 are definitely emotionally touching. Very few games, movies, or shows can portray such emotion and difficult subjects in such an elegant way
@Xenomaniac Xenoblade 2 does do a lot of subtle callbacks to Xenosaga and Xenogears. That's why hearing people call it not a Xeno game makes me wonder what drugs they're on. After playing DE it's even more apparent that 2 is a proper sequel, so I don't know what game they played or if they even played 1.

Xenoblade 2 is fantastic at building these fleshed out villains. Everyone has their motivation and nobody is an out and out ‘baddie’. They’re all products of experience or circumstance. I always hear ‘Drifting Soul’ from the perspective of Malos. He doesn’t know why he is the way he is but he is filled with hate for humanity as a result of his driver. He is a soul with huge potential who is awakened by someone who is damaged.
Always looking forward to these. I'm glad your Xenoblade 2 streams were so successful, a lot of times it does feel like the second game isn't really as loved as Xenoblade 1, so it's always nice to hear how many other people love it so much. It's probably my favorite game.
Honestly, playing Torna has made the story of this game so much more impactful. Jin's sacrifice brings me to tears now. I really love this game!
Torna changed Mikhael's death from a "why?" moment into a "Holy shit why would you do this to me!?!" moment.

38:47 I like that Amalthus asks that while holding Akhos above his own head like that. It's like a "stop hitting yourself" moment.
I cried when I saw Jin's death for the the first time, a splendid soul indeed. I can't wait to see your reaction to that first cutscene of chapter 10, every XC1 player lost their mind when they saw it.
Now for a fun fact to lighten the mood, you can speedrun Amalthus' fight by pushing him into the hole behind him and killing him instantly, technically sending him down the way he came up.
I unintentionally did that to Amalthus on my first playthrough, let's say it was pretty anti-climactic

Man, playing the Torna DLC makes these even more emotional moments for characters like Jin and Mik, but damn my heart split in two after finishing the DLC. Jin, Mik, and Mythra...ngl I actually teared up at the ending.
I love how Rex finally knocks the sword out of Jin's hand, the moment he convinced him about his intentions was good. The fight was mostly for show, the real fight was their world view.
While it was really sad Jin died, he finally say the error in his way, showed by Mythra saving him and it cut to Lora, the last human he ever cared for. It was well done.
I can't wait to see you play the final chapter, it is such an emotional ride.
Mikhail is one of my favourite characters in the game, in a game where I love a lot of characters (he can’t beat Nia at least).
If you think he got it bad here, wait until you play Torna. It’s painful to see who he was before being a flamboyant dumbass.

Torna is a great game I just wish they’d remove that roadblock they put in the story where you have to do a bunch of side quests to progress the story. I dropped Torna because of that & still haven’t gotten around to finishing it
@@AetherMomon That is my one complaint....i guess the devs thought it was too short and they filled it to lenghten the game. I was in 100% completion mode so it didn't bother me that much since I enjoyed doing sidequests, but it was too many just for the story. There are some great cutscenes after that though. You should try and finish it Story-wise the best parts were the after those quests.
Small spoiler : malos vs addam fight was pretty cool.
Xenoblade fans are some of the most dedicated fans in existence. Every streamer I've seen that streamed Xenoblade 2 got an uptick in views because the fans all flock there to watch it and give support. We just want to see you enjoy the game and react to the crazy moments to relive our memories lol. This game just makes you feel bad for everyone.

Yes! So excited to see this come up to watch. XC1 is great, but 2 holds my heart and soul on a whole different level. It’s easily in my top 5 favorite JRPGs. My experience is that as a fan group we are generally ok if someone else likes XC1 more than 2, but that there is unfortunately a very loud minority in the XC1 fan base that really gets angry about it. Which is a shame. It’s all Xenoblade after all, and each game has different things that make it fantastic. Each of us has the one that resonates the most for us. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Only one chapter left. I am so ready for the reaction of that starting scene of chapter 10.

Loved that scene with zeke and the praetor and the scene with him and Rex. It really shows his depth as a character and showcases why he’s my favourite character in this game. Zeke not almalthus just to make it clear

I've always thought Amalthus and Jin are the most complex characters in this game. This is an amazing part of the game when they finally meet. Keep up the good work on these XC2 videos. I'm a big fan of all the Xenoblade games. These games really induce you to have compassion for all the characters. Even the antagonists in the them find a place in your heart.
amalthus death always makes me cry, idk why but him seeing his mother always gets me. what a tragic end to a villain! I love everything about that scene, from the action to "what a splendid soul you were, jin"

After playing Torna the Golden Country you care more and more for characters like Jin, it's sad after getting to know them to learn their fate.
Every new reaction I get the honor of watching from each new player reminds me of what, in the end, Xenoblade truly is - an utter masterpiece. I can't not cry at these games, I adore every moment.
I respect xenoblade 2 so much. They were NOT afraid to get you attachrd to characters and kill them off, not just for the sake of killing them off, but in actual interesting plot relevant ways that make sense.

THEY KILL THREE MAJOR REDEEMED CHARACTERS IN ONE ROOM immediately after killing off ANOTHER redeemed character.

@@speedude0164 This is the reason xenoblade 3 does not hit as hard for me. 1 and 2 were not afraid to kill but in 3 the main characters win like every single fight and straight up only like 3 sympathetic characters die in the game.

@paulrance5445 those two don't even count they come back to life. There is a reason I said sympathetic and not hero too because pretty much only villains die. I count N and M and then maybe count Joran. Obviously, more side characters die, but they are not important to the story at all.
Edit: I guess if you are really stretching it, then Shania counts even though I would say most people are happy she dies lmao. Guernicas also does count imo but really only if you played xenoblade 2.
Jin was such an incredible character
It's like one of those most used debate topic, "are humans inherently evil?"
Will Malos be evil if he had a different driver? Will Amalthus be good if what happened in his childhood didn't happen?
But then are those men who killed Amalthus' mom evil or was just raised to be one and if they aren't who ot what made them like that.
Such a good theme to be tackled on and interpreted in this game.
When you realize everything, no like literally everything important in the story following the creation of Alrest, happened because of a single murder.
For me, I think there are some characters who were just pre-oriented to be bad. I don't remember the exact dialogue, but I think of that scene between Jin and Mythra earlier, where Jin says "If you had experienced what I have, you'd have done the same thing." And Mythra's just like, "I did experience that, and I came to a different conclusion than you."

The opening part of Amalthus’ scene may suggest that he’s an off-seer like the new MCs from Xenoblade 3.

@@noahjboyle3341 The part where Amalthus bows to the pile of dead body right at the beginning of the chapter. It may not be as ritualistic as Noah and Mio playing the flute, but it’s still a nod to what they do as off-seers.
And in the long run, looking at xenoblade chronicles 3, Amalthus and Jin was technically right and justified, humanity will never change. Stay dandy ✌
But Rex is right too "and when I'm not around to stand by you in that effort... someone else will!" Rex and Shulk and the others (aside from Nia and Melia) may be gone but Noah, Mio and their allies will fight in their stead even if they don't realize it
@@nathanblackburn1193 It's very nice that it actually properly questions the ideology of both the protags and the villains. Neither are 100% right, it just depends on how you want to look at it.

11:59 XC2 has a lot of controversy, and the community stood strong against all that.. All the stuff that people complained for just made the game better in one way or another. In the end hating on 2 is pretty much hating on 1 which makes the chronicles series even more interesting.
Thankfully the 1st game is different from this one so that we have variety in both universes. I am thankful for your streams too, it was because of you that it reached great viewership amount.
Honestly the end game and combat alone cemented this as one of my favourite games of all time.

I don't know if you'll see this, but you're at the point where I finally get to share this fun fact! So, you know the hole Amalthus comes out of, right? There's actually a pretty funny way to defeat him using said hole, if you use a knockback or blowdown attack and put him back in the hole, he dies instantly, and you win the fight. Speedrunners actually use it to get past the fight as fast as possible :)
Just so you know feel free to say any more fun facts too since this and torna were streamed a while back on twitch so there's no need to worry

- It was kind of clear that Mikhail was a bit different from the rest of Torna - his Core Crystal isn't speckled with red.
- Don't worry, a good number of Indol's citizens evacuated. Several of them can be found in Fonsett Village (likely why Indol's dev level got transferred to Leftheria last chapter).
- This game's major antagonists - Jin, Malos, and Amalthus - are pretty amazing. None of them are full-on black morality, but they're extremely dark grays nonetheless.

The build up for the big reveal is driving me nuts
One thing i really like about this gane is that by the end Malos and Jin aren't really fighting for their goal anymore. They're fighting to see if Rex is right almost testing him.
I'm so glad you noticed the fact that from this chapter on we can see the World tree so clearly from every Titan. The amount of detail is impressive

The music for the world tree part of the game is just godlike
This is the best J-RPG of all time! By the way, in the Japanese version, they refer to the World Tree as Yggdrasil.

Wow this chapter was non-stop epic scenes and acting and battles and music!! Also, really glad you had a pleasant experience streaming the game. It sucks that that's such a rare thing for any streamer/game that it's worth mentioning but you gotta enjoy the positives when you get them 😊

Honestly, I liked Amalthus as a bad guy. I felt so terrible for what he went through but he definitely had to die. Jin is also my favorite character so it hurt so much at the end LOL

Chapter 9 was what completely broke me
Did basically a binge watch from went you got to Mor Adain to where you are now, it's pretty nice that you are able to condense these chapters into pretty lengthy videos. Hope you did enjoy the ending, and maybe even try out the DLC

Took me a bit to see this one because I had to advance my own game to not spoil myself but amazing video as always! :) very intense chapter
I recommend going back and watching the scenes of Torna after playing Golden County if you get around to it.
She finished torna quite a while ago I believe so she might have
12:12 Twitter propaganda wants you to think nobody but freaks play XC2. It's important to note that XC2 is the best selling individual title in the XB series (not sure about xeno entirely, a saga game might have that title)
A lot of the loud Xenoblade 1 fans and people who hate anime in general bully people who like Xenoblade 2. It also didn't help when a bunch of bro streamers all made videos shitting on it without giving it a proper chance.
2 is not perfect, but I like it better than 1. It's also a proper sequel. A lot of the core mechanics are borrowed from 1 and also a lot more polished. Some ideas are clunky like field skills and arts canceling being locked behind the driver affinity chart, but once it gets going it's super fun. Torna further smoothed out some of the problems which makes me look forward to 3.

46:10 I always found it shockingly dark that the cutscene with Zeke and Amalthus basically implies the existence of a Blade sex-slavery ring. He says that he originally found Pandoria at a market that was selling core crystals to people who wanted them for.....less than savory reasons...
Some day I hope I find another game with a character as well written as Jin. Of course, I'm including Torna in this. You would think you will never grow to appreciate him killing Haze/Fan, but he truly did free her from Amalthus. It's emotional whiplash, but they pulled it off.
