- I've made this knife from disk saw blade. Its 9,5" long, the aluminum bolster is riveted to the tang. the handle is made from stabilized double color maple burl

Have you tried Fullering your chef's knives for weight reduction? I fuller most of my larger kitchen knives to lighten them up and add a little more strength to the blade, along with a spring temper.

Honnestly, I never made one on kitchen knife- didn't even think about it, but it's damn good idea:)!
@@DBCraftWorld yes, just grinding in a fuller on both sides or doing massive offset fullers to create an almost S grind.
@@bjornronaldson6017 I plan to make S grind in the future, but it needs a preparation and gold belt grinder (mine wobbling)

Thank you Ozzy! I'm trying to be better every single time, but I have still a lot of things to improve:).
..Most of steps looks like 15min task, but over all, this knife took me 3 days. Making the most simple handle shape (let say: round) would reduce the time I spent on this knife to half.. but, where is the fun and satisfaction? I don't like going to shortcut.. And also fun project for me is fun project for you, I guess:)
I'm from Poland, but if you didn't recognize the accent I guess my english is not that terrible lol.
@@DBCraftWorld We all have things to improve. If we didn't than our existence would just be boring! I've heard other knife makers say the same thing about hand sanding, so you're not alone with that. Polish okay, I'm glad I asked and didn't assume. See your english is so flawless, that I couldn't tell your nationality. I'm Russian/Italian, but I just have boring old American accent 😕
