  • Imagine you have no power hammer or any good blacksmith tools at your workshop. No anvil, no forged tongs. Or, you are a noob- you have never forge weld anything... Is it still possible to make a San Mai knife? This is the second part of POC that anybody can make san mai at home. In this episode I've casted aluminum guard and used stabilized maple burl to make a handle.
    Enjoy!

Incredible job David! You really saved the day fixing the straig htness of it, AND saved yourself from serious injuries! Looking forward to your next San Mai build 😉👍🏽

Thanks a lot Ozzy! I'm working alone, so I'm taking safety precautions very seriously- inside the workshop most of the tools can hurt you badly- In case of something very serious, you are in trouble and no one will help you.
Soon I'll start project that change the game completely and.. there will be a lot san-mai projects :)!

Nice build, and excellent and timely advice on wearing PPE. Three days ago the wire wheel on my bench grinder caught the metal I was working on and flung it into my hands and face. Had I not been wearing impact-resistant lenses I probably would have lost an eye. From now on there will be goggles over my safety glasses when I'm grinding! Oh, and now my bench grinder turns away from me, not toward me because I changed the base around.

Workshop is not safety place. if you work are alone PPE should be no. 1. Try to find the full face mask I wear when I pour the metal into the mold. there is no problem with foog when you wear respiratior mask and this face shield.
I've removed this video from my channel but my first casting ever goes very wrong. The liquid brass gets splashed all over the area because the mold was too wet. If you have hot crucible in your hands full of liquid metal, you cant just run away fast. PPE cloths are the ONLY protection you have. People shouldn't forget about this. Make of buy leather apron. if will protect your body from angle grinder sparks and also, if the accident with bench grinder repeat (I hop no, but it's better to be prepared) you protect your guts. My friend mr. Death Machine get hurt very badly using buffing machine. Those tools are not a joke.
      Thanks again for watching Bryson!

Have you ever thought that not everyone understands what you are saying there. Or do you think only English-speaking people are watching you

    • @DBCraftWorld

      Hello Gordey,
I can speak only Polish and English. There is much more people speaking English than Polish, so I decided to make my content in English. If you don't understand some part/ need help (because you want to try same thing), feel free to send me an e mail (you can write it in Russian- I'll try to translate it).
      Best for you, David
