So, I think I saw where you put your waders on before kayaking a bait out. I’m am very curious to know…. Does this create a safety concern if you get dumped into the water? I know you had a life jacket on too, but what can happen if someone gets dumped with waders on? Will they fill with water and try pull you under?
Hi, I'm fishing Pensacola Beach over spring and have a few questions. Is the bay and ocean near portofino any good for sharks? i have surf gear for the bay along with a 9/0 and heavier gear for kayaking baits into the ocean. If the areas near portofino aren't good, is there anywhere you would recommend?
Caught a 100lb tarpon on the beach with a lady fish about that size just north of Sebastian Inlet on the Atlantic side. Was hoping for a blacktip but was a lot happier with the tarpon, 45 min fight.
Y'all fishing in east bay, I'm over here on the Navarre side of east bay, but I mainly fish Navarre pier, but I'm looking for a big shark reel I'm looking for a 14/0 for big sharks, what's your opinion of the 14/0
Thanks for watching. Yes we are on the Fort Pickens end. I fish mainly in Pensacola Beach area. Navarre pier definitely is one of the best places in the country for shark fishing. As for the 14/0...i love mine. It has caught so many big sharks its ridiculous with very little maintenence. Fill it with some quality 130 mono and fish with confidence that you can land anything that hits.
14/0 is a fine reel. That fn thing will hard more braid then may ever need. If you are kayaking baits out and fishing off the beach there is probably nothing that reel won't bring in. Same with the 12/0, just hold a little less line and few pounds less drag.
Had to add one more thing, finding a 130lb pound class pole that the 14/0 and 12/0 can actually fit in may take some searching locally. The mount is a little longer than other reels.
hey man, I'm going in August and I'm going to be fishing the exact same spot but I'm wondering if my Penn 209 spoiled with 20 pound mono and a wire liter with hold up, also on a 7 foot 2 medium heavy action
He’s using a long-shanked circle hook, so it will almost always set into the very edge of the jaw... with the (long) shank accessible to a pair of pliers. I’m sure that if it isn’t absolutely safe to pull the hook, he’d cut the leader as close to the hook as safely possible.
Thanks for the like! Yes it is a 12/0. I always try to have at least one bigger reel with me for a bigger bait. In this case it was a large spanish that didnt get touched.
wow looks like you where about to be spooled
Enjoyed your video. Thanks
Great video and very informative. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for watching!
Great video by the way, I've only been fishing for trout and reds in the bay, I've thought about fishing for small sharks but never tried, I will now
You would be surprised and the number of large sharks that we have caught out of the bay...especially in the spring and fall. give it a try sometime.
Great video! Thanks.
if it werent for the fish kill i would try it in my bay, corpus christi bay, oh also what rod is that senator on.
His line on his real is insane!!
You should make a video on how you make your copper leg weights!
Hey I might be late to the party but could you tell me what reel you have on the left please
It is an Okuma TLD 15, if I remember correctly. Thanks for watching and commenting

I've yet to ever actually land a tarpon. Congratulations!

Was it cut bait or alive?
Was it cut bait or live?
what braid do you have on your small shark reel?
Tyler Williams its some cheap braid we bought from ebay i believe. i think its called PE braid. its held up nicely so far.
Would Bonita aka false albacore work ???
Eventually....
Would frozen ballyhoo or squid work pls?
here in Hawaii we fish for small hammerheads and squid is like candy... confident squid works perfect for blacktips too

thomas 514 Managed to catch a 4' shark with 17 lb line on an Abu Ambassadeur 6600, so I think that would be more than capable.
Yes... if you’re both lucky AND good.
How do u take the hook out?

Is that normal to put waders on then get in a yak? I’d be scared to death.
What's your set up,reel and rod
Its a little okuma TLD 15 on a custom 5.5 rod. It's a sweet setup that is fun on smaller sharks.
what did the shark weigh
I'm sorry for never responding to your comment...not sure how I missed it. It was a small shark maybe 30lbs. Thanks for watching.
Is this a penn senator 12/0? Thanks for the video u got a like
