  • In this video I try and give a better understanding of what DNO approval is for your micro generation setup (solar, wind, etc), and know the difference between a G98, G99 and G100 approvals.

    ** Correction ** I had a typo in my notes that carried through the video. The G98 is 3.68 kW, NOT 3.86 kW as I stated in the video. Thanks to @brianwilson1210 for spotting it.

    Informative as always Dale. One would hope any installer would sort out the appropriate DNO application for their customers buts it's useful to have the detail you have provided.

      I agree they should, but as mentioned I think many installers may put people down the G98 route and customers may not know there is another option.

    Great vid once again. Your conversation about DNO applications matches what I knew from my own experience except I thought it was 3.68kw not 3.86kw but I coild be wrong.
    It would be interesting to hear your experience of a house sale that included solar. Did it have any bearing on the sale? Did it complicate the sale? Did it attract more buyers and / or price? Perhaps a topic for another video!

      Thanks for watching and commenting Brian and you are 100% correct on he 3.68 kW, I had messed up my numbers on my prompts so continued to muddle it up the whole thing :(
      Will deffo do a video sharing my experience of selling a house with solar, etc.

      Great video - thanks!
      You mentioned you can export 5kw - and that's really interesting - I thought 3.68 was a hard limit for one phase. Do you know what the max is on g99?

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andybrown668 3.68 is the limit without approvals. G99 approvals and export levels will depend on the local infrastructure (i.e. approved exports in your area using the same infrastructure), then the fuse at your house will be the other limiting factor.

    What about plug and play solar ( balcony solar)?

      I believe officially any solution that puts power back into the grid should have DNO approval.
