- A fantastic session Fishing at Llandudno & Pensarn beach in North Wales, it was a lovely warm sunny day, was calm conditions, a calm sea and no wind, which is unusual for the end of March, especially in the UK.
The video is just us, a dad and lad fishing Pensarn Beach Abergele. First, we gathered some Black Lug Worm from the low water mark, and then we headed over to Llandudno north shore to see if that would be a good place to fish, we then decided to go to Llandudno pier.
We ended the session in the dark night fishing until the pier closed and we had a number of different species that day which you’ll see in the video but a special catch was an amazing Sea Scorpion.
I hope you enjoy the video, do ask me any questions you like via comment or email.
Hope you can get out fishing & I hope you have some fantastic, safe fun, Finding Fish too.

Great video very informative thanks
Thanks pal & You're very welcome Joe, all the best 🎣 👍
I'm New to Sea Fishing Im 75 years old I live about 5 mins from Llandudno Pier but haven't tried it yet so was interested in seeing you fish there. I usually fish below the Life Boat Station in Craig y Don i caught my first fish there after 2 months of fishing s small Whiting but was so excited as it was my first fish. I also Fish at Deganwy over the Level Crossing its low water mark but is very good. Thankyou for the video I'm keen to learn as much as I can
Firstly you're very lucky living 5 mins from Llandundno Pier, secondly no... we thank you for finding and watching us, its always great to hear of new sea fisher folk there's not much can compare to sea fishing really, unlike a great deal of course fishing (which I love too) the waters in which we Sea Fish have been there forever, the fish are 100% natural, and it truly is us trying to find them they are not put there by us... I find it amazing how even a little Whiting can excite us but it does even after years of Sea Fishing. Not sure I could pin point exactly why I love it so much, but the sea itself has a great deal to do with it. You should try the Pier although not free like a huge amount of marks near you (great marks too you mention) it is always fishable at any tide state and the structure itself can hold great fish. I wish you all the success in the world Tightest of lines to you Sir. All the best.
Great video, make the most of the time you have fishing with your Das. I do miss my fishing sessions with my Dad, (his knees are f*****) hope to get him out soon somewhere where we can fish not far from the car and I get a bucket full of peelers.
Shame about your dad, yeah you must try get a session together with him fishing from the car. Thanks for the comment Tightlines 👍
Just found you & dad, brilliant video and extremely grateful for your info on where to fish, park & eat.
Were from the north west, fairly new to sea fishing after 60 years coarse fishing, but love it. Been a problem finding out where to fish & park due to disability issues. Thanks for all the info, have subscribed & look forward in catching up with your videos. Cheers 👍
Thanks for the super kind comment, we love sea fishing & we think giving information on venues can only help people safely & responsibly enjoy the same (if not better) fishing as we do at the venues we visit. Hope your able to find some fish too....thanks for the sub too, we don't plan on stopping our videos anytime soon, we really enjoying making them. Tight lines & all the best. 🎣👍
Great videos. Nice to see someone spending time showing the venues also.
Thanks for the kind comment Phillip, I'm not in the market for giving away secret marks or anything but popular ones like the ones I visit regularly over the year I may as well... if it helps someone try somewhere new or if it makes finding it easier for a day out fishing ...why not ...I say.
Smashing video, are you still making them matey
Thanks for the kind comment pal, we are indeed still making videos but getting chance to edit and get them up is another story lol….we have filmed all this year and got quite a few videos to go up so hopefully you can bare with me while I find time to get them edited and put on our channel. Thanks for the comment again 🎣👍
My pleasure, I've been to pension point this afternoon, caught 4 Joey's on spinners but lost loads of tackle on snags whilst using worms
Pensarn has some great fishing, I think you would have done better sticking it out there. Never seen anything good come off llandudno pier.
Thanks for the comment Jenny, stay tuned to the channel, there'll be more from Pensarn... probably more from Pensarn than Llandudno in all fairness too. All the best.
Last time I went fishing with my brother was on that pier be about 15 years ago
Thanks for the comment Philip, hope you liked the video.... did it fish well the last time you fished it? I'd be interested to know.
@@FindingFishUK caught some whitting as I remember, been on it a few times , was never that productive, and yes I do enjoy the video's, think you should do fylde coast
@@philiphodgkinson6342 we do have a few videos of the Fylde but have seemed to do better Wirral and Mersey way on in recent times but since being on a few facebook groups I'm seeing some decent stuff off the Fylde so stay tuned we do aim to keep trying different northwest uk venues. Thanks for your info bout the Pier and the comments pal. All the best
Cracking watch that mate one of my favourite marks the peir
Thanks for the kind comment Darren, yeah I agree is a cracking spot, has lots to offer, deep water all session, good tide movement, easy access (although a good walk) and much more. Last few summers however we haven't been able to get a llandundno pier session in but hoping to this year. All the best 👍🎣
I call Llandudno the kennels to many dogs off the beach nothing else apart from summer when the mackrel come in.small sub species down the side of the peir In the groin the doggies come out at night in force in Llandudno and pensarn is a good place to blank the only place I fish these days are prestatyn
Thanks for the comment Kenny, I like your calling it the kennels is a very good description of a typical doggie area 😆...may use that one myself... I don't mind a dogfish to be honest as the areas we fish over most of the year don't see them in crazed amounts (sandy, muddy spots) plus we dont tend to use fish baits loads so its mostly when we use fish baits or when we fish areas of rocky shore we see them loads. Prestatyn is on our list this year so stay tuned. Thanks again for the comment, all the best & tight lines.
@@FindingFishUK no problem mate prestatyn from low to 3 hours up on a westerly with black lug I never blank
you do some cracking vids bro , and the info post codes etc cracking session
Thanks Dave, yeah just thought adding locations of places we go godda help people, so why not. Thanks for the comment once again Dave. All the best and Tight lines pal.
So happy to see you can fish on there again. Will be down in July
Thanks for the comment Stephen, yeah is a great venue and if on holiday there is great. Hope you get some joy in July, by all means let us know how you get on. Tight lines pal. All the best. 🎣 👍
Cheers .48 years old now been fishing of the pier since I was 5.
Happy to see it's open as there was no fishing last year. Ruined my holiday lol 😆. Will let you no how I get on ..tight lines
I had a similar experience the summer of 2020 was forced to fish Northshore while I was there that year on holiday with my other halfs family. One doggie one day all other days I blanked. Pier was closed or I'm sure I'd have had loads of fish 🙄 you'll smash them now its open 😉 all the best pal.
Hello guys new subscriber here, what a great and informative video. I used to fish the pier as a kid when you could fish anywhere down the left side but not the platform at the end, how times change eh. Pensarn beach needs a surf to do any good, when it's flat calm like in the video it's pants unless the Mackeral are in close but that's in the summer not March. Tight lines gents.
Thanks for the kind comment, I've often thought that piers need to have more thought for fishing, & allow fishing any parts, I'd love to try different parts of Llandudno pier & others but I'm very greatful they sectioned off a platform dedicated to it atleast (even if it's charged for) take what you can with it these days I guess, not all in our sport are responsible people so can understand the restrictions on fishing public structures to a degree. Yeah Pensarn & many a long sandy beaches fish best with a chop. We will be back to Pensarn in the summer. Lots more venues to show on the channel so stay tuned. All the best pal Tight lines. 🎣 👍
Fantastic video again lads.
The pier looked amazing place to fish and looks like you had a good time. I will be honest I don't mind catching doggies. The cake and brew looked awesome.
Loved it again well done Tim and Dave 👏 👏.
Take care and tight lines 👍
Thanks Father Shane, not sure when people enjoying our videos will stop amazing me but we appreciate every single bit of praise, yeah Llandundno pier is a great venue but very tourist heavy in the warmer months as you can imagine but we fish it when we can in-between. Tight lines too as ever dude. 🎣👍🐕
Hi m8 have you ever fished at prestyn? Can you pump worms there.
Thanks for the comment, some cracking worm at Pensarn, just a little south, so I'm sure there are worm to be had there too, we haven't fished it yet but it's on the hit list this year from viewers recommending it. If you go let us know how you get on. All the best Tightlines Mumtaz.
@@FindingFishUK I've never been there. In summer time I mostly focus at new brighton as there are plenty of worms around. I live in Bradford and it's a long way. Therefore I prefer places where atleast I could collect bait
Great video 😊 Just to ask how many hours before high tide u pump a warms mate :) thanks 😊
Hi thanks for the comment, we pump worms approximately 5-7 hours before high tide basically at low tide pal. Hope that helps. All the best pal Tightlines 👍 🎣
Made me wait for the brew n a cake bit😂
Just back from a few days on Anglesey as a test run to see about coping with oxygen, 2 trips, one day one night for one bite so didnt strain myself too much 😁😁
A few bits to sort out to make life easier and might bump into you and your dad
Thanks for the comment Philip, sorry yeah we wanted to make the most of the day so cake and brew was filmed at the end, so glad you got out fishing but yeah this time of year is slow at best so your test has clearly proved your strain must be saved for better fishing times (not too far away now)... you totally never know we could fish the same spots in the near future very likely....there would be a cake and a brew for you in our kettle if so. Thanks for watching again, all the best and tight lines.
Spent a fiver and the fish only farted🐟
Thanks for the comment, can't stop thinking about fish trumps now 🤣.....Blanks are a sad but true fact of fishing and when one has had to pay for the privilege makes it seem more painful, we wish you luck on your next session, all the best and Tightlines. 🎣
Not fished the pier for years now, it was a place that can throw up a decent fish but used to get plagued with doggies, enjoyed the video tho pal,
Glad you liked the video thanks for the kind comment Paul, Yeah doggies I think are a bit guaranteed off the pier, probably the type of ground, but that type of ground like you say can produce a nice surprise. Plus I actually love catching dogfish but understand they can/are a pest at times. Tight lines Paul all the best 🎣 👍 🐕
5 quid to fish the pier, robbing ****
I know Dave, assuming it was free to fish in the past but they do require you to get a ticket now, is a maintained platform away from the public which goes someway to me personally understanding to a degree but paying to have access to the sea is always not nice. Thanks for the comment and the stars rather than the naughty word 😉 all the best pal.
Gone upto 10 quid. Mmm
