@@ProGames-sn6ev In der Arrangement Ansicht nennt sich das ganze ‚Automation‘ und die Ansicht musst Du da global auswählen. Automationen lassen sich aber ebenfalls auch durch Envelopes die du in der Session Ansicht gesetzt hast in einem MIDI Clip in das Arrangement kopieren.
Hi abletondrummer, thanks for this. I followed the steps in the video however I can't get the patch on Ableton to change kit number on the Spd-sx, however the Spd does change the kit number in Ableton. Do you have any advice as to what I'm doing wrong? Best, Casey
Hey Ciad, could be several things. First you need to make sure the SPD-SX is set to send/receive MIDI Program Changes. Next make sure MIDI routing and Channels are set right. It is all explained in detail here: blog.abletondrummer.com/spd-sx-control-for-ableton-live-with-max-for-live/
Followed all the steps in the video, Ableton is successfully sending signal to SPD-SX but not vice versa. So the SPD does not currently change the kit selector. How do i fix this?
If you followed all the instructions its hard to say. Double check if Midi Tx is turned on, select SPD-SX on track, check in Abletons MIDI indicator (or any other other MIDI monitor app) if a signal is transmitted to your PC/Mac at all. Make sure you have the latest version of this M4L device

Hey. You have to switch on Automation Mode and then you can draw automations on the track. You have to select the device and "Kit" in the device and automation control menu.
@@drumsconnexion make sure thats the automation is active/check Back to Automation. If thats active and the automation is set in the right menu it should work. Make sure your Send To and Midi Channel is set right as well. If that doesnt help, I do online teaching as well...
How do I use my pad sounds and abletons plug in effects on my apc 40mk2 with the fx knobs????????!!!!!! I have been trying to figure this out and really need some help and to figure ot how I can control my pads sounds with other effect plug ins on my apc 40mk2 fx knobs????? Is this possible? I want more effect sounds going threw my pad sounds using my apc40mk2 with ableton. Any help you could provide me in detail to get me on the right track would be so awesome and much appreciated. Thank you!!!!
Hey - if I get you right you want to send your Audio signal from your SPD-SX into Ableton Live and then put Audio FX on it. 1.Create a USB AUDIO connection between your Mac/Win with your SPD SX 2.Select SPD-SX as an input on an Audio Track 3.Put Audio effects on this track an control this via your APC - I have to say that maybe a MIDI connection might make more sense for you - (all type of connections, how to set-up and how to use them is explained in the course!)

I meant that it is strage that Ableton Live doens't recognize the SPD-SX program change setting and the boxes for the program change remain clear (showing ---) even when you turn the midi setting ON on the SPD-SX. And one more question about your MAX4L patch before I get it, it is working per clip, for example can I change a program with a specific clip because that's what I want to do?

BUT if you 'just' want to send one PRG CH per MIDI clip, you can actually do this natively in Ableton Live ( In the "Note Box" section of a clip you can set up 1 PRG Change to be send when starting this clip) - The advantage of my device is that you can set this up in clip automations/envelops which means you can change kits inside one MIDI clip + if you change a kit on the SPD-SX +/- buttons the M4L device will show this and change as well.

Hey Viguel - you can send MIDI PROGRAMM CHANGES from any other MIDI device as well to the SPD-SX to change kits.

Yep - automating kits will work the same way in arrangement view
