Last show we did they supplied a monitor then I hooked it up to my dvi to hdmi adapter then you drag your video in nice it’s showing onto the screen to the right, then click on it and it will go full screen

Hi - thanks for your excellent tutorial! 2 questions. First, we have say a 15 song set, the Roland only has 12 pads - can you somehow set a pad to start and skip to the next song? Second, do you have to have your computer on stage send the video out via HDMI? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hey thanks for the informative video I just wanted to ask something Do I really need the spd sx editor? Can I do it without the editor? I don’t use it that much so I don’t want to waste some bucks buying it, Thank you
I use the SPDS X Editor to save time as the sets change all the time, I havent updated tho as Im using the SPD-30 in a different kit now but still Triggering stuff. The editor in the Roland is a little clunky and feels out dated in comparison, so if its time your looking to save then try it, but if its $ then you can do most of it on the SPDSX, thaanks for checking out our video
We have changed our setup lately and are using the SPD30 to play as a drum pad now. If I can remember we would use a new kit for about 2-3 songs. Divide it up with key parts. New kit copied from last and reading to new markers in the timeline. Audio comes from SPUD and program and visuals come from Ableton. Was h new marker required a new CC note, so hilight marker in MIDI Map mode and use one that’s available . It’s covered us for some very large sets. But at some point you might run out of available MIDI CC, 128, is quit a bit
How do you send the video for the screens? and how do you make sure it always work with each track? i mean, i assume you just send the video as an external display via HDMI, but it wouldn't show your screen background? or the ableton live window? Thanks!
Sorry for late reply, yes you would only see it in your main display, it’s a little hard to see the cursor to size the screen the first time but it does work.

I saw a dj triggering his visuals with the spd x but he also had samples being played as he was hitting the pads. How can that be done?

Can you do this with an Arturia keylab instead of the Spd?
Not exactly sure. We use this unit mostly and our Roland TD50 so we couldn’t give a precise answer to that

You could asign the midi notes to markers like i did and it should be fast , but I think getting into resolume might be better at this point.
