I tried this with the red millet here in Ghana and I soaked the millet 8 hours and then cooked it and it never got soft. I cooked it for over an hour and nothing helped. Please, what did I do wrong? 😔
The grains referred to as Red Millet in Ghana (which are bigger than the normal millet seeds) are intact Sorghum seeds. The best way to soften Sorghum seeds when cooking is to add some Bicarbonate Soda or the Local Akaun after soaking it as you did.
Is there a website where I can get that pot? I’ve been looking for it everywhere. Unfortunately we do not have this type of pots in my home country (Senegal), and I’m sure I won’t find it here in the US too 😂
