Thank you! I don’t know much about the MX five but if you check the user manual it should explain what MIDI controls you can use with it. I hope this video helps

I’ve been using a melo audio midi commander for quite a few years now. With the headrush gigboard and mx5. So hopefully it should work ok with a flex prime. Which I’m just about to get soon.

Well I finally got round to trying my Flex prime. And it’s fantastic. And one really great thing the melo audio midi commander I’ve used for a few years now with a headrush gig board and mx5. Literally worked straight away when I plugged it in. So I have it set for CC commands and so I can turn on or off up to 8 blocks in each rig and we’ll as having the built in footswitches built in to the device. Which really expands the controls. But. Set it all up with an audio interface and a pod pro. And sounds fantastic. Cheers

One thing of importance anyone who wants to use a midi controller with a headrush device needs to get the A Type connector. A while back I bought a B type by mistake and couldn’t get it to work. It says A type in the manual. Ok.

if i have a boss gt1000 core and a flex prime, can i control both units with one midi captain? like, fs1 delay on gt1000, fs2 overdrive on flex, fs3 reverb on flex, etc etc. also, can i make them change presets at the same time?

Hey thanks for your question! I am not an expert on midi but there are lots of TH-cam videos explaining how to program the midi captain.
There is a way that it might work to control two different things by using midi in and midi out on one of the pedals. I honestly don’t know if it can do that but it might work, since it’s a very advanced control controller.
Another way it might work is by using two different outputs on the back of the controller. The midi captain has USB out and regular midi in and out jacks on the back
I hope it works for you!

Just returned my new Headrush (HR) Prime under warranty as it can't process or produce MIDI signals in & out; I got another new replacement under warranty and it fails equally so. Firmware is at 4.0.0 for it Everything works well on it except for MIDI. Through testing with DIN-5 plugs with cables or using only a USB 'B' connection to a Mac or Windows computer, or only using using a 'Bluetooth WIDI Jack' to a Mac, no MIDI signals goes in or out of the Headrush Prime. This is very sad. I was hoping that this digital signal processor could do MIDI. Just so frustrated. Perhaps I am wrong. I use the ART X-15 Ultrafoot MIDI controller which can be seen producing MIDI signals and receiving them with a Mac. Could you please help do MIDI with the HR Prime and the X-15 ?

Hey man I’m really sorry to hear that it didn’t work for you. I am not a specialist on midi and have really just started to understand it over the past few months. But there is a really great group on Facebook where you can ask questions that may help you. Look for the group called “ The Ultimate Headrush FX Community “
I don’t recall anybody in the group ever having a problem with their core or prime units not handling or receiving midi signals. Perhaps your midi controller may have something to do with it. I really wish I knew more but I’m not an expert.
I hope you get the problem figured out
