    Wow. You are the man. I’m really thinking about doing this exact setup for my MAJIK BAND project. This is really helpful.

    This is extremely helpful as I play thru an EVH 5150iii combo that doesn't have true clean on its green channel, however the blue channel on that amp is the best thing about it, so I can see myself just using the HR preamp for cleans, and using the amps blue channel for dirt and not worry about potential latency issues on channel switching. Again, very helpful. Thanks

    Great Video, thanks. 2 questions please: Can you control the power soak of the Amp 1 with the HeadRush? Which effects sound more “ real, organic” HeadRush or HX effects to you?

      Headrush can only send PC messages so it can't send CC messages to control power soak, gain etc. Both Headrush fx and Line 6 fx sound great. Line 6 has an edge on the MIDI options.

    Hi (sorry in advance for my poor english but i'm french).
    Your video is really cool, as i am about to buy an Iridium version of the blu guitar, but i have 2 or 3 questions:
    - In this video, how are you connected to your computer, is it from the recording output of the Amp, and using its own analog cab sim ? Would it work the same, if i want to plug it in my FRFR ?
    - How would you connect all this rig if i want to us Headrush Ir's and where do you put Ir in the rig channel (before or after le FX loop block) and push it in the FRFR speaker
    - I have seen the video, for controlling via midi channel switching, but i saw in the Amp manual, that we can manage Presets too (for example modern channel with boost etc...)
    Thanks a lot for your help.

    I just followed along what you did. When I put the delay or any other stomp for that matter, after the fx loop block, it dont work. Only works before the fx loop block.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Send of the HR fx loop to guitar input of katana amp, send of katana fx loop to return of HR fx loop, left output of HR to return of katana fx loop.
    Can't get stomps to work after the fx block on the headrush.

    I’ve had a Strymon Iridium, Helix Rack, HX Stomp, and now I just run Helix Native, but I still fill like I haven’t found that sound, but I love the convenience of recording with digital units, I’ve been tempted by these Bluguitar but never played one

    Do you happen to know of a way to set the tempo via midi? Not sync which flexes decimal points either direction. But by sending a finite BPM number like say 115 BPM? TIA

    So if I want to use the Amp1 and Gigboard for my band to play live, I probably shouldn't use MIDI because of the delay, and just use scenes? I was thinking clean, rock rhythm, heavy rhythm, lead. Some additional sounds/effects would be nice, but maybe hard to switch with only 4 buttons on the Gigboard, or do I just make a rig per song?

    • @DoctorMcFarlandStudios
      @DoctorMcFarlandStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe one day Headrush will add the ability to send a PC or CC message per Scene. For now its only one PC message per Rig.

      @@DoctorMcFarlandStudios wouldn't the MIDI still have the delay hickup in switching, or is that because of switching rigs?

    Thanks buddy, love the video. One question about the midi though, on your other video you showed how to assign channels via midi. What button where you pressing on the headrush to finally assign it? For example you would toggle over to midi 10 and hit your button on actual amp to go into learn mode but what button did you hit on your headrush to complete it?

    • @DoctorMcFarlandStudios
      @DoctorMcFarlandStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hit the switch the Rig was on.

      @@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Sorry. Not enough detail. What Switch? How did you program the Headrush to change channels. You didn't explain that. All you said was I made a clean rig and a vintage Rig and a Classic rig but you didn't say how you made/programmed those rigs to change channels. And do you have the ability to program any cc messages using the Headrush.

      Bob Marton I’m using one rig to setup the MIDI LEARN function in the Amp1 and using the PC messages 10-45 to control the different amp channels and boost on and off. After I am done with the MIDI learn process I am able to make different rigs in the Headrush each with their respective PC message to send to the Amp1 and change the channel. As of right now you can only send a PC message per Rig and not per Scene or footswitch. Also the HR can’t send CC messages which I have discussed with HR and it will be available in the future and it’s “in the works”. Hopefully a full MIDI functionality will be applied like Line 6 has on their HELIX line of products. The Amp1 works beautifully with my HX Effects for example.

    Does head rush make your amp sound digital?

    I have the same glitch in combination of the Gigboard in 4cm with a Huges&Kettner 3 Chanel Amp, the glitch is always wehen switching presets at Midi and also with the TRS plug for external Ampcontrol. In scenes there is no glitch at the TRS Ampswitch but sadly there is no funktion in scenes to switch via Midi.
    So it's seems to be a softwarebug, I think the HX-Effects had the seme bug in an early firmware and has been solved by an update (I remember the updatenews they changed the softwareroutine so Midi will be send at first when the preset ist changed, the Headrush sems to do the same old mistake and loads the rig first and send midi at last) .... the last Headrush update is long time ago, I hope they will improve the Midi capabillity (also with CC codes), at the moment it's in my opinion almost useless.

    Would you know how to hook up a digitech trio+ with the gigboard

    Doc, what’s the appeal of the Bluguitar Amp1?

    • @DoctorMcFarlandStudios
      @DoctorMcFarlandStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be controlled via MIDI. It has a tube in the power section so it sounds great as a power amp for digital effects processors, gives me the feel of all the old amps I used to have. I will be doing sound comparisons very soon on Headrush vs Real Amp tones. They both will sound great but it’s just fun to do some critical listening.

      I talk you through the process. The 4CM is universal to all types of gear. Learn it once and you will know how to do it for every possible setup you can think of.
