    Forget lines, i've seen an interview with some of the cast of Critical Role where they couldn't even remember what characters they played on some of the shows they were in. We forget that for actors the movies and shows they work on are just that - work. A job they did and then moved on to the next one.

    • @ArCgon
      @ArCgon 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      TBH Natalie has "moved on" from Star Wars before, during, and after being in it... As for the start: She once said in an interview that when George Lucas first called her, she didn't even know if she just agreed to act in Star Wars or Star Trek, and which is which... As for the end: pretty much the moment shooting on Episode III wrapped up, she started making V for Vendetta - hence she showed up for Ep3 premiere with a shaved head.
      And I mean no shade to her. It's just that some of the actors (Mark Hamill, John Boyega), are just like some of the fans - they revere Star Wars as something bigger than a film series; while for others (um, Harrison Ford) it's nothing less, nothing more than a job - and one of many they had during their career. Natalie is in the second camp.

    @hadorstapa 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Here's the thing. Some lines stick in your head as an actor, and some don't. It's often about the lines, not the project; and it might be that one line that you really struggled to learn that gets stuck, while all the other lines that were easy just fade quickly away. Or a scene that took many takes. Which is also why lines from stage productions are so much easier to remember, because you performed them so often. If it's a filmed production, you rehearsed the line half-a-dozen times, performed it enough times for all the angles, and maybe looped it later if the sound wasn't good. On a stage you perform it every day and twice on a Saturday for weeks, if not months, so that sticks better.

    It's not "Star wars actors", it's fairly common amongst actors. They spend days or weeks learning pages and pages of text and putting intentions behind the words etc. And then, when it's over, when they don't need it anymore, they just let it go because they need to learn new pages of text for another part and the previous ones aren't necessary anymore. That's how memories work. You only truly keep what's important on a daily basis or that caused trauma because then it's treated as critical for survival. The rest goes to the dark in order to make space because even if the human brain is a fantastic memory bank, it's not designed to retain every bit of useless information you encounter during a 80+ year lifespan.

      @@MyToastyToast I beg to differ id say Andor was very similar to a lot of old Expanded Universe writing and acting in quality. Back during what was considered the Golden Age of Star Wars. It’s why I love Andor but really Andor and Rogue One are the only two things Disney has going for it. And even then I don’t watch Rogue One as often as I do the Lucas Trilogy. It’s good but it’s not good enough to watch hundreds of times. Andor though I have watched a bit cuz it was very good. Very very good. And yet I wouldn’t say it’s the best Star Wars ever. There is just way to much that came before that it’s based around for it to be.
      For example, I play BF2 more then I watch Andor because of its story and how much it resides with the story of the Clones without the need of Inhibitor Chips to move a miguffin along.
      You also have the original Jedi series that I and so many who grew up with it love. A series about a Hero turned Smuggler turned Jedi. Kyle Katarn and his stories were probably some of the best that I remember from my childhood. And even still Andor is at the end of the day a copy of Kyle. This was confirmed by writers who based him off his EU counterpart.
      Then you also have the Thrawn Trilogy which I have read more often then I have watched Andor. What is to this day considered to be the best trilogy in Star Wars reading. Heir to the Empire is hard to top.

    I mean a lot of people misquote for example: "Luke, I am your father."
    Also Lucas is known for some weird dialog. On the other hand Mark Hamill can still say the line:
    "But I can't turn back! Fear is their greatest defense. I doubt if the actual security is greater than on Aquile Sullust. And what there is, is most likely directed to a large scale assault."

    She’s openly not liked Star Wars since the movies released. She also said she was very annoyed about being asked questions when she was making other films in the early 2000s. She might of changed her feelings towards the series but IDK

      I doubt she would dug it either way, many actors don't see their roles in commercially popular movies as high art. She would probably prefer to be remembered for Black Swan or something that challenged her skills

    I was puzzled when I first heard 'lazer sword', such an obvious and clunky term, instead of the established 'lightsaber', which is so much more creative, rolls off the tongue and is so deep in popular culture. As a kid I thought it was 'life saver'. 😊

  • @jonathanmaillard7484

    It's kinda funny that Lucas called them Laser Sword. In french, Lightsabers are named "Sabres Laser" wich is Lasersabers in english because translating Lightsaber litteraly to "Sabre Lumière" sounds horrible.

    The reason we're all enamored by Henry Cavill is because it's so rare to find an actor that actually geeks out over these things like we do.
    Most actors and directors are highly successful people, and their focus is on their career... not your beloved childhood fandom.
