Reminds me of a friend I once had. He was a funny guy, making jokes all the time in class. I came to know him through being a section mate/ kitchen partner with him in home economics. We became friends throughout that year and he even sat behind me during class time of economics so we talked quite a bit. He began to funnily crack jokes saying, "can I have your number?" It became a small joke between us and I began to slowly enjoy his presence a lot. And he even recognised the differences between me and my twin despite people who knew me couldn't, which made me respect and like him much more. That was the one time in my life I ever began to actually form a bond with someone after so long and it was probably the closest bond I ever had. Though that love for him never progressed into love romantically, I loved him as a friend, a best friend even. However, he one day began to start vaping and taking something the next year after I dropped home economics. He started looking out of it in class and didn't speak out or joke around like he used to and then now he no longer is in our school. I feel regret dropping that class, not speaking to him or asking for a way for us to contact each other. I was always so scared of having any relationship whenever it be romantic or just friendship so I never reached out. Now I regret it. That friendship was the deepest I ever had, now it's gone. I don't know if I'll see him again. Sure taking stuff may mean he could try bring me down with him but I wish I could have at least waited for the day I could see him get out of that, to stop and recover from his use of substances. Now I can only keep those conversations and friendships as a memory and slowly forget that love I had for you as a friend. I miss him and do hope to come to meet him again, hopefully not a side of him that is dead, hopefully, to meet the side of him that was bright, happy, a comedian, and a goof that brought happiness and reassurance to each day of the year we were friends. I truly hope to reconnect again and continue that friendship one day because it's hard to think of a friendship so close to someone else.
