No you haven't been I was cleaning my stove and accidentally wet the socket and gave myself a nasty shock. 24 years I've cleaned that stove, it only takes once to be distracted, so maybe I'll shut the breaker now.
I grew up on a working farm, dirty light switches happen near the doors to the house after you come inside from work. Congrats on washing your hands though!
great on you, i guess? for one, some people live in warm places, sweat a lot, and sweaty hands = everything white gets dirty. and then, when i go into the bathroom to clean my hands, i don't wash my hand in the dark. so i touch the lightswitch with dirty hands. and even if i wash my hands regularly, i don't wash them every 5 minutes, so they're bound to get dirty in between...
I think if this was my house I would have used rubbing alcohol, q-tips, and cotton pads, or taken the plate off to really get in there. But you probably don't have that kind of time doing your free cleanings for people whose entire homes need to be overhauled. It still looks much better after! ❤️
It takes longer to buy a new one and replace this than it would to remove this and clean it in the sink - about 1 minute. And more plastic goes in the landfill.
When I was 5 years old I spread open a bobby pin and plugged it into an electrical outlet. I do NOT mess around with electrical outlets or switches. I use a slightly damp rag to clean the covers. Apparently, you can never do that and just ask Barbie to clean them every once in a while 😂
Screwdriver take the thing off and soak it in some good grime remover clean underneath also the screws need more than that still grime inside not a good job in my opinion

You must live alone b/c I grew up with 5 siblings and light switches, handles, and doorknobs had to be cleaned constantly.

Better to remove it...then you could even clean the screws...water is not safe to use on electric outlets.
