They're young guys who're raised in an area that raises gang culture. Just like LA. It's exactly the same and it's poverty that breeds it.
Probably just as long cause it's the same mentality just different weapons, in fact if, at that age they acted like that in L.A or Detroit they would probably get 'recruited' as part of a gang there. You also say L.A and Detroit when both places have very different cultures when it comes to gangs but with their reputations I can understand why you used them as our examples, just cause our country is smaller with no guns doesn't make guys getting slashes down their cheeks and blades in their stomachs any less of a serious problem, the gang life in America is no more glamorous just cause it's been on TV both are just negative consequences of broken systems in impoverished areas, which is sadly a very easily translatable way of life for many communities across the globe.
By the way the line in which I say 'saying shit like that is what pushes kids to prove they're 'just as tough' ' is not meant to be confrontational as I have just seen it does come across that way on a reread I just mean in general speaking terms we should try and discuss it with the focus of stamping it out and refocusing the youths aggressions into something better.
